The Anzac Tea Parlour

Everything about this place is awesome! Everything is decorated so beautifully (vintage shabby chic) right down to the little tea spoons. Even the bathroom is beautiful! You get to choose from a zillion different teas, pick out your own tea cup, and can even wear the hats! Their Chicken Almond Tea Sandwiches are my favorite, and their scones are the best! The owners are lovely and the service was great! I brought my sister, mom and aunt recently and we had a lovely time! Not even mom could find something to complain about, which is unheard of!

A mandatory stop for me any time I go through the Gorge. On a nice day, their porch is exactly what you need. The food is authentic and distinct, and the tea selection is unparalleled. But more than anything else, it’s just a nice, shady spot to sit down for a bit.

This tea parlour has it all; a menu packed with delicious Aussie tea fare, an energetic gracious hostess, and a charming tea parlour to enjoy an afternoon with friends or family.
My family discovered this amazing treasure several years ago and we visit from Portland as often as possible. This past weekend four generations of our family (3 – 86 years of age) spent a lovely afternoon enjoying tasty treats and the best tea in Oregon!
The food served at Anzac is homemade with skill and creativity. Bev Eagy (the proprietor) is a genius in the kitchen and her staff is friendly and accommodating. A visit to the tea parlour wouldn’t be complete without purchasing some of their loose leaf tea and yummy Anzac biscuits… Bev also makes custom wedding cakes. I’m already looking forward to our next visit!

The Anzac Tea Parlour is a definite bright spot in our little town. The décor is charming and warm, and the food is very good. I have tried several different things on the menu, but love to have the Sampler Plate, which includes wonderful chicken almond sandwiches, tiny cucumber sandwiches, mini-​quiches, veggie roll, Anzac cookie, a chocolate dipped strawberry and fruit. Many teas to choose from also. It is a popular lunch spot with a definite Australian flare. I recommend it highly.

Charming house and charming hostess, excellent food, an amazing selection of teas, and great prices. Unlike most tea houses, you won’t walk away hungry– and you’ll have a great time picking your own tea cup and examining all the knick-​knacks, like the pillbox hat collection on the walls. Don’t miss this very special place!
