Klindts Book Sellers & Stationers

LOVE!!! Seriously, how cozy is this place? I have lived in The Dalles for 8 months now and been a regular visitor of the town for a couple years. All this time I though this neat, little, nook was simply a used book and stationary store. I imagined it being chalked full of westerns and Christian books. I’m not knocking those genres, I just wouldn’t want to visit a store that was solely dedicated to that kind of reading (although, I think I just described my Grandfathers dream store). The ambiance in this store is something I have yet to find even in a Portland book store. They have some old, some new, some quirky, and some local (you thought I was gonna make that rhyme, huh?) I am just beyond pleased to find this store in this sleepy town. And if you are just passing through, stop here! You will find lots of neat-​o local flare. Also, did I mention it’s the OLDEST book store in OREGON!!! Fact.

Best place to buy a book in town. Oldest book store in Oregon maybe west of the Mississippi. A must see for all.

Not only is this the oldest book store in Oregon, it has a great ambiance, easy to find what you’re looking for. If they don’t have it, they’ll order it for you & it comes very fast! Fun place to take my grandson, he loves it. I found a zombie cribbage game there for my son last Christmas!

This place surprised me! We went here after googling a place to pit stop on our way to Portland and read about this old bookstore in this town. So my adventurous sis dragged me here, and I’m glad she did. The place not only has a fun selection of giftable books & reg, but fun novelty gifts from Streamline to name a few and great selection of baby & kids plush & toys with greeting cards to boot! I easily ended up spending over $ 50 all said & done. Only wish was more info about which of the old display cases were from the original time it opened as a store, maybe there is info & I just missed it? This place will be a must stop every time we pass through The Dalles!

The must visit book store in The Dalles, I think it’s the oldest in Oregon. I’ve decided to give it my business from now on and bypass Amazon for books, I hate to see quality places like this lose out because of the internet.
