I took my 5 year old granddaughter for her 6 month checkup and everything went smoothly. We arrived early for our appointment and got in almost immediately. The staff was helpful and friendly. The hygienist was gentle with my granddaughter and did not scare her. The visit went extremely well and I am satisfied with everything.

I thought that this would be a perfect place to take my daughter for her dental work. After finally getting dental insurance through the VA, we were able to get her teeth fixed. The initial exam was fine and the dentist seemed to be friendly and competent. We scheduled the first half of what was to be about $ 2000 worth of dental work on my 8 year-old daughter. We were thankful that this location had a dentist that accepted the VADIP insurance. On the first visit, my daughter had a about half of the work completed. We had arranged to used a CareCredit account to pay our part. After the first visit, Kool Smiles maxed out our credit line of $ 900 even though our cost share was only $ 247.00. We didn’t realize they had done this until weeks later when the bill arrived. In the meantime, we had been waiting for the next appointment to get the work finished. We were told for 4 weeks that they did not have a «credentialed» dentist to complete the work. How do they have a dentist one day, and then not the next? It was about this time, that I found out the credit line had been maxed out, so I would be unable to take my daughter to another dentist to have the work completed. I requested for over two weeks that the remainder of my money be returned. They have yet to do so 60 days after they initially charged out account. My daughter continues to suffer with a broken tooth and we are unable to get the work done because Kool Smiles basically stole our money. CareCredit is investigating but that will take 60 more days. Kool Smiles has never acknowledged the actual cost indicated by our insurance and have never provided me with a statement of the account. Kool Smies has been aloof and uncaring about the fact that they committed fraud. Neither the local office in Texas City nor the corporate office has been helpful. My daughter continues to suffer waiting for her dental work while Kool Smiles counts their money. Not a respectable way to treat a disabled veteran’s family.
