HIGH-ENDTEX-MEX My beautiful lady had the shrimp taco. She says it is better than good because it was light in taste and perfectly sized for lunch. My San Luis combo was light in nothing and perfectly sized for my last meal on earth. And, boy, was it delicious; best tamale I ever had not to mention the relleno, fajita taco, cheese and beef enchies and terrific sides of rice and beans. Even the chips are something to write about… Ask for Gallo, a fine waiter and man.

Good Tex-Mex! Salsa was spicy. Chicken fajitas were great! Chicken was moist and the veggies were nicely spiced. Homemade tortillas — nice and warm. Frozen margaritas are top notch! Do try the baked queso … Similar to what you would find in Mexico. Thick and yummy cheese dip.

Like… I love it. Seriously best fajitas ever. I mean, I’m no authority on Tex Mex or Mex Mex but I have had fajitas in dozens of restaurants and the meat here is superior by a mile. I always come in with the intention of trying something else and then I end up ordering the fajita. Minutes later I hit my head and go why! I should have tried something different. And then the food comes and I’m like, that’s why. Because it’s SODANGGOOD! I usually come for lunch and it comes with a little cup of taco soup and rice. Both good, though the rice is a hit or miss. Sometimes you can tell it’s been sitting for a while, it’s got that day old greasy stench. But I still like it: D Other than that, I’ve had the black nachos and MMMMMM! It’s so delicious. Like extra extra read all about it, kind of good. Service is meh… but the food more than makes up for it. Their prices are not awesome but this is not a little neighborhood place, it’s a casual but nice restaurant. My family came here(3 adults) and spent $ 50. I usually end up spending about $ 20 on my meal inclusive of drink, tip, tax. More for dinner. Do be aware that there is their like banquet hall thing on Broad St, this is closer to 3rd St, right across the street from the Arkansas City Hall.

This place was on my way from Texas to Mississippi. I am always in the mood for Mexican food so I went to Unilocal in search of a recommended one nearby. They had great reviews and my Unilocalers have yet to let me down. Started off with their queso. I was the best I have ever had. I have no idea what kind of cheese it was but I am hooked. Also had their enchiladas and they were fantastic. Anytime I am passing through I will have to get my fix and stop by!

Good Mexican food, and the hamburgers are great as well. Party atmosphere every time we go here! If you are looking for intimate, this is not your place, but it certainly never lacks for a great time.

Place was AWESOME!!! First, the food was exquisite! Crawfish quesadillas were incredibly savory and plentiful. The queso was remarkably unique due to it being made from goat cheese. The overall quality of the food was unparalleled and to top it all off, our bartender Bob was superior!!! Top notch service and a likeable guy. He made a strawberry margarita that my girl really enjoyed(and boy is she picky!!! Haha). Anyways, this is a spot I will be returning to!

The margaritas are cheap and reasonably good. I have tried to order other drinks but have been disappointed. Many food items are mediocre. The salads seem to be the most consistent options. Two much better Mexican restaurants are available in town(Tacos Mi Pueblo and Colimas) but are both lunch places. So the best option at night and if one wants to have margaritas.

Very good food. You really need to try the quail! Sometimes especially on the weekends, there is a wait to be seated line. It is definitely well worth the wait. The chips and hot sauce are great and the fajitas are excellent.

Excellent experience! Let’s start with desserts: you want traditional flan, forget it. It was rich and flavorful unlike many flans I have had before. The shrimp brochettes was very good. The shrimp were huge. The San Antonio fajitas were tender and tasty. My husband could have done without the shells on but it was still very good. Most of all, our waitress, Erica, was very attentive. we all scoffed when she didn’t write any of our orders down. We were a party of 10. She only basically messed up once and that was bringing a sour cream set up as opposed to a guacamole set up. That was simple and easy to resolve based on all the orders. She cleared plates and drinks quickly and everything showed up in good time. After reading some of the reviews on Unilocal on the way here, our expectations were clearly exceeded. We would definitely return here on our next visit to Texarkana.

Well, here’s what I should’ve done. Should’ve just continues down Stateline Boulevard and went to this place instead of going to El Chico. It’s located across from City Hall in Texarkana, Arkansas, and is located in an old bank building, which makes it one of the more interesting buildings that I’ve ever discovered a Mexican restaurant to be residing within. Theming and ambience is nice, coupled with a nice musical soundtrack, and lots of dividers to create different atmospheres in regions inside the building, it’s a little adventure waiting to be discovered. Chips came out quickly; salsa was pretty good. Margaritas come in one size: beer stein. Very good, but someone’s missing the boat on options here. I ordered Crawfish Enchiladas with rice and beans; so delicioso! The mudbug’s flavor popped in to the center of the traditional ingredients. Rice and beans were superb. What more to say? This is how you do it!

Just like Mexico. Don’t drink the water. Wow it tasted like it was from a ditch close by. The service was nothing spectacular either. Cold staff and inattentive. The good news, the food was very tasty and abundant. The presentation nice. The shrimp were huge. I wouldn’t say it was the best Mexican food I’ve ever had but it was pretty good so you get a four.

Was terrified of what Texarkana would mean, food wise. In two weeks, I’ve eaten here thrice for lunch. Between the baked queso dip and the grilled fish special, you cannot go wrong. This place is a real gem. I know it’ll be a main Texarkana staple.

Was passing through Texarkana and stopped to eat here based on everyone’s positive reviews… agree to disagree… worst Mexican food I’ve eaten… needless to say, extremely disappointed… the atmosphere was very cool and our server was awesome… but the food was a huge disappointment

Everyone in town has told me that this I the place to go in Texarkana for Mexican Food and I have to agree with them. I really like this restaurant. The Puffy Tacos were excellent, the Fish Tacos were amazing, and the guacamole was so fresh and flavorful! I went on a Friday night and the place was packed to the rafters. That didn’t matter as far as the service was concerned. The host quickly put together a 2 top for me and my date, the waiter was friendly, and the food came out really fast! The margaritas are awesome! Pricing on the menu seemed pretty fair and all of the staff seemed to be having a good time. I’ll be returning here again very soon!

Very good food but very pricey. Neat little restaurant once you get past the Jail haha. Amazing service. Wouldn’t say it’s the best Mexican I have ever had But it’s in my top 10. I had the chickeb fajitas and they were pretty good. The chicken comes in slices instead of little pieces which was a first for me. I ordered cheese on the side($ 3.00) a lot of mula and they don’t give you a lot for the amount you pay. I say bring in your own cheese and cheese shredder. Haha.

Way over-priced for the quality of food. I gave them two tries, but they failed all the way around. I’ll have to wait until I get back home to San Antonio for some good(non-gringo) authentic and properly priced food.

Best Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been to! It’s huge, always backed, great service, an the food is always fresh. Every time I got the owner takes time to personally come over an check on us. Salsa is delicious. Personal favorites are: loco steak, black quesadillas, and the cheese burger(even though it is a Mexican restaurant– it is the best burger I’ve ever had. Big and with real cheese. To order just say«I want the cheese burger». It’s not on the menu) the desert is excellent also.
