U.S. District Court, Eastern Dist. Texas, Texarkana Division

For a federal courthouse, this place is kind of fun. The address on Stateline Avenue is meaningful, as the courthouse actually sits on the state line between Texas and Arkansas. It serves as both a courthouse for the Eastern District of Texas and the District of Arkansas, depending on which half of the courthouse you are in. Out front as you strandle the state line you can read a quote from John F. Kennedy given at that same location when he was running for president, back in the day when a Democratic presidential candidate might actually come to Texas. Inside you can have fun with it too. From a discussion I had on the Texas side: «Can you direct me to the mens’ room?» «Oh, that is over in Arkansas.» This kind of thing probably gets old after awhile, but I wasn’t there that long, and I thought it was a hoot.
