Don’t know what happened to this place but it used to be affordable, I also see that the hotlinks and sausage is a cheaper grade full of gristle and fat, I used to eat the ribs but the last time we went in a rib plate was 18 $, you must be kidding. Is this guy trying to retire in a month or pay for his mansion. Pork has never cost this much.

Fantastic BBQ, I’ve had the beef which was awesome and the Fried Catfish with was incredible. Great sauce and large portioned servings. You won’t go away hungry.

I was brought here by a fellow co-worker. I wanted to try a nice restaurant that wasn’t your typical chain restaurant like AppleBees or what-not, and Smokey Joe’s Barbeque was brought to my attention. Anyway, You order food here like you would in a typical cafeteria setting: you wait in line(except, there was no line for us), grab your tray, order food, scoop out the sides yourself, grab a dessert, then pay for it. I ordered the full rack of ribs(pork … argh! no beef ribs!) with two sides: corn on the cob, green beans, and sweet potato fries! The ribs are surprisingly large. They weren’t your standard baby back ribs, so eating a full rack of this meant splurging in large amounts of smoked out delicious pieces of heaven… …except this wasn’t the case. The meat was rather hard(well what do you expect? upon ordering this item, you get this immediately, like the guy just yanked it off the shelf or whatever). I commend them for being able to retain the smokey BBQ flavor without smothering it with BBQ sauce, but the texture was absolutely loathing.,.and not worth $ 22. Combine this with green beans that are completely limped and overly seasoned(nobody likes things limp…), and the entire dining experience crumbles… The sweet potato fries are good here. I actually enjoy the powdered sugar on top of them. One extra star. However, for a barbeque experience, I’d dine elsewhere…
