When I went there the first time it was for a lunch buffet and I was frankly underwhelmed. But last Sunday I had a friend who was sick and needed some hot and sour soup to calm her throat. Knowing that I live in the part of the world where things often close down on Sundays, including Chinese restaurants, I googled and found several that seemed to be open. But upon calling, Panda’s was the first that I actually found open after calling several. Their buffet is nothing worth noting at a glance, in fact maybe even meh~ But being that it was a Sunday night everything looked surprisingly fresh and not overdone. It hadn’t been sitting under the heat lamp for hours and looking like I do when I’ve been sitting under the sun for a few hours. When I got in I asked for the hot and sour soup, and they took a tub and went straight to that counter and filled it up. A large container for under $ 4. And then the food looked so good I asked for a plate and it was something like $ 8.95. No weight limit. #YAAS The hot and sour soup was apparently kinda sweet but still had that hotness that was good for her throat, and the plate was heaven on my mouth. Even after a couple hours and then a minute in the microwave. Good, cheap, fast, Chinese food. It’s definitely not an upscale place and is not a ‘fancy’ Chinese buffet with the perks(i.e. mediocre sushi) but that is A-OK in my book.

I ate at Pandas about 7 years ago. After eating there I became ill. It was coming out of both ends if you know what I mean. I swore I would never go back. Well… a group if coworkers decided to meet for lunch at Pandas. I was against it but as a team player, I decided to go along. I made a salad… only lettuce, cheese and ranch dressing because they had no tomatoes or cucumbers. I also haf a small spoon full of rice. The rice crunched in my teeth as if we’re dried out or undercooked, so I picked at the salad and sipped on my diet coke. I sat and listened to my coworkers complain about the tea tasting like sugar water, the rice under cooked and the imitation crab meat. After we returned to work, one of my coworkers became ill and had to go home. She barely made it home for having to pull over at various gas stations to use their facilities. Long story short, I will maintain my promise to myself and never return to Pandas.

Sometimes you make bad decisions in life: cheating on an exam, not wearing a condom, and eating at Panda’s are a few examples. As I write this, I feel the sickness overwhelming my body. The only thing that comes close to food, was the coke I had… and coca cola may want to reconsider allowing this establishment to continue selling their product. I tried a multitude of items. The only thing that gave me joy was staring at the security camera as my body physically tried to stop me from continuing the damage. I was literally shaking and twisting my head in repulsion at each new«treat». I now have to «live» with my mistake, for how much longer, I just don’t know. Good service though
