Absolutely the best drinks and friendliest bartenders and atmosphere in Texarkana. Top notch. Love it. Good food. Drinks are in front of you before you run out. Absolutely the best place to enjoy a Saturday night in this city.

My favorite Mexican joint in Texarkana. Friendly staff and the food is consistent. Prices are reasonable. By far the best margaritas in town and you get a good value for the money.

General bad service. Everyone in the store looked like their dog died. We ordered chicken empanadas for an appetizer, but beef ones came out. It was Taco Tuesday, which means tacos for $ 2. A great deal, but watch out for the upcharges! Our waitress told me that rice and beans came with the tacos, but when I got the bill I found a charge of $ 1.49 for the rice and beans. I also was charged $ 4 instead of $ 2 for one of the tacos because it was«premium». That’s fine, but it would have been nice to know going into it. It took almost 15 minutes for our waitress to deliver our separate checks, and then another 15 minutes to get our cards back. There were only a few other tables in the whole place, so it’s not like it was busy! I’m probably most irritated because of the music. It was bad and too loud, especially since the place was almost empty. Will definitely pass on this place the next time we pass through. It was just a really depressing dining experience, as my band mate said.

If u like skimpy portions and high price food. OTB is ur place. It’s should be called North of the Border. It’s not Tex mex. it taste like corporate food from a freezer.

The menu options for veggies is no different from what you find in other Mexican places. This place has a nice ambiance. As we were seated, we were served the complimentary chips & salsa which was really tasty — the chips were very thin and crispy. We tried the grilled vegetables & portobello mushroom fajitas and the tomatillo enchiladas with spinach & mushroom enchiladas. The enchilada was a bit too tangy for me. The fajita was ok.

I love on the border’s happy hour! :) I go to OTB about every week, and I usually receive a pleasant experience. Food tastes good at affordable prices. My favorite restaurant in TK!

i rate on 100% scale: 85% great service, not at first but it grew better towards the end. 90% food: i thought it wouldnt be as much due to pictures, but it was too much to handle! a doggie container with over half my plate for later. no white sauce for dip, 70% time: they were packed wt hard to find parking, but got our food and refiled my drink. speciality: amazing ststrawberry margaritas, over filling burritos exceptions: a waitress spilt and broke 2 beer bottles right next to me, resulting in beer all over me. they took a drink off of our menu for computation, manger was extremely nice and still tried to give us free desert after the discount. over all experience a 90%

The food is bad and overpriced. The worst tex-mex in town. The drinks the same. I have eaten On the Border in airports when that is the best option. It was a big mistake to enter one without such a restraint.

Was here 6 months ago and would have given 4 or 5 stars then. Today reviewing lower because the facility care seems to have diminished. For example, the women’s restroom had broken door latches, soap dispenser and trash on the floor. Food was fair and service was reasonable in the bar. Food quality was down a notch, with the avocado fries small and overly breaded.

I’ve been traveling for 8 years+. I’ve been trying to find a place that makes the best tortilla soup. The last place I ever had a great tortilla soup was up north in Kalamazoo, Michigan. But this place just beat Kalamazoo big time. THE best tortilla soup I’ve had. There might be other places out there who have better, but they’re very rare to find. I’m glad I stopped by. It was worth every penny.

The avocado fries are amazing! The guac is great too. Had the bordurrito — it was absolutely humongous, and way too cheesy inside. Super busy on a Friday night but only a short wait.

Love! Love! Love it! Easy parking and great location. .close to the movie theater! Nice patio with a SUPER happy hour. The servers are friendly and knowledgeable of the menu and drinks. Teamwork is paramount! I love seeing that. It shows that it is a good place to work and eat if the employees are happy. Appetizers are fresh. We had the guacamole live made at the table… and like some other tex me places these guys don’t skimp. My hunny got the burrito and was huge and tasty. I chose the variety of enchiladas and was not disappointed at all. A great place for a good meal with happy atmosphere. We will be back.

When we travel we have a rule that we can’t eat anywhere we can eat at home. Well, we don’t have On the Border’s here in Tennessee but we have eaten there before but hey, it was 10 pm and I had been driving since 1pm and I was hungry. It was as expected, good. I have always loved there chips and salsa. The food was good and I had a fried guacamole tamale thing that was a nice surprise. Got to get back out on the road quickly and landed in Memphis 5 hours later. Long day.

The patio is terrible! The interstate noise, the dirt in your teeth, sticky tables, it truly is «on the border» of miserable. You can combine that with fried good and you get this dump. Sad thing is… it’s still the best mexicanish food in Texarkana.

Stopped here during our travel on I-30. Luckily happy hour was going on which included appetizer and beer, their appetizers were freshly made especially the one we had, a $ 3 Quesadillas & Flautas, their happy hour is Mon to Fri 3 – 7PM and Sun to Thurs 9−11PM, they have $ 2,$ 3,$ 4 menu during it but only in patio not inside over all our stop didn’t go waste and had good experience.

An update so soon? I can’t help it!!! I used their carry-out last night. It was the $ 9.95 fish taco dinner. THREELARGE fish tacos, the best I have ever had! And they sent me home with chips and salsa. Even though it was contained in paper and Styrofoam, the dinner looked absolutely fantastic, and it contained nothing that wilted during the drive home, things like lettuce. I nuked it a minute, and it still tasted fresh. If this place ever displeases me, I’ll be crestfallen… but I’ll give it one star if it deserves it, too. Shouldn’t they be paying me for this? Oh, yeah. Where is the ceviche… and the flan?(I have to complain about something.)

Needed a «real» dinner… as opposed to a fast food one. Stopped for a decent off road meal and some time away from the wheel. Had the Burderitto… which is basically a chimichanga. came with a side salad with jalapeño vinegrette. interesting lite kick. Was not able to finish the monster chimi. Very tasty. Service was good. Never asked for a drink refill. Parking was easy, but could get tight when busy.
