Mother of God. AVOID this place if you can! — Our room was disgusting. The coverlet was stained and riddled with cigarette burns. The laminate flooring was warped and gave the room a depressing, dirty look. I’ve stayed in freezing guesthouses made of plywood in Nepal that had a more pleasant feel. — My husband went to the vending machine to buy sodas and noticed rat traps and crack pipes littering the ground. . — There were giant cockroaches outside our door. I didn’t see any inside but we weren’t there for very long. — We arrived late — close to 4am. There was A LOT of activity for that time of night and people seemed to be checking out our car and trailer. The atmosphere was seedy at best. My husband is a large man who doesn’t often feel unsafe. This place threw red flags up all over the place. — The door to our room had very obviously been kicked in at some point, evidenced by the splintered door frame. Yikes! We packed our car and left after less than an hour. This place is filthy and unsafe. Find literally anywhere else to stay!

I was driving cross-country for my move from LA to Nashville. I had my brother and cat with me. Yes, my cat. Anyway. We stopped in Texarkana to try to shorten the drive from Dallas to Memphis. It was around 11pm, we had just picked up some food, and we were looking for a cheap place to stay. One night for two beds was around $ 45, plus they allowed pets. I took it. Then here’s what happened: –First off, the guy behind the counter was wearing basketball shorts and an old t-shirt, and was half awake. –The room he assigned us was already taken, so my brother and I ended up waking up some poor guy. –While walking to a new room, anyone who was out on the balcony watched us, and the two guys in the parking lot seemed to circle us. –A guy came to investigate the trailer I had hooked up to my car. –While in the room, I looked up the crime rate **ON A SCALEOF0TO100, 100BEINGTHESAFEST, THISTOWNIS A 2** **ONEHAS A 1IN78CHANCEOFBECOMING A CRIMEVICTIM** So we immediately packed up and left. The best part? We had only been checked in for about an hour. We didn’t even sit on the beds, and we used one towel to dry our hands. The guy at the counter claimed that because it had been«about an hour» he could not give us a refund of any sort. I admit I argued with him, pointing out that the room was in the EXACTSAME state as when we checked in, and finally he agreed to refund. half. «That’s the best he could do.» Never, ever coming here again. The ONLY reason I’m giving 2 stars, is because the rooms were decent. However, the place still smelled like paint, and there was paint smeared all over the balcony.

Driving across the country and thought we’d save some money by staying here one night. To keep it simple, I will list the things that it DOESNOT have, in no particular order: friendly staff, outlets by the bed, hot water, cleanish pillows, carpeting of any sort, quiet evenings, or a safe-feeling parking lot. If you’re looking for any of the above, go another exit; I sure wish I had. Update: my girlfriend pointed out that carpeting in this room would be a sanitary concern and she is glad to have the linoleum, even as she refuses to take off her socks.

I stopped at this Motel 6 on my way to Austin, TX. The location was easy to get to if you’re traveling south. The price was reasonable. The front desk was friendly. The bed wasn’t the best, but you get what you pay for. The towels are like water repelling gauze. Only luke warm water emerged when I tried to take a shower. The place was clean and designed to look modern, but didn’t quite make it. The television was large, nice and new with data ports on the front of the desk it sits on to connect any manner of device. In conclusion, a decent place to spend the nice at a low price while travelling.
