The doughnuts are ok, but the last time I went one of the employees was chasing a rat out of the restaurant as I was walking in with my mother. Definitely the last time I go there.

Good place to eat as they are open 24⁄7 and has a drive up window. Service was average as we usually go in the evening and late at night. The staff is friendly and the food is okay(depends on who is cooking it) as some don’t know how to make an egg over medium. But it is what it is and it seems that there is a high turn over on workers.

Road side café with a drive through window, good selection of donuts, and friendly staff. One star off for waiting for over 25 mins for food to come out.

Small place, great food, the biscuits were home made and the best I have had in a long time. The doughnuts were amazing alot better than your typical doughnut food chain ones.

The Goody’s omelet was probably the best omelet I’ve ever had and the staff was pleasant. The only reason I didn’t give it a 5 is because it is filthy in there. PLEASE pay someone to come in and do a deep clean on the floors and walls.

OMG the apple fritters were incredible. They were as good as my go to place back home. If they were closer, I’d probably have to rotate between the two.

My boyfriend loves the food. He took me there to get donuts and I was not impressed. There were gnats flying all Over in the donut case. I know some men don’t care about that but a lot of Women do. I didn’t try the food because of it. Sorry:(

Knocking them down two stars, because they’ve gone down hill. The now only have chocolate donuts on the weekends and not during the week. I’ve never heard of such a thing. Even the donuts they do have really aren’t all that great. I think I’m going to be going to Terrytown Donuts from here on out. Sorry, boo.

The photos are very MISLEADING. also the prices are about $ 2.00 higher than what’s listed on Unilocal.I had an 3 meat omelet that was very flat with barely any meat in it. The grits taste like the inside of a old folks home… Yuck… The potatoes tasted old and reheated. The donuts was the old thing that was close to being fresh. Will not be coming back. The people their are really nice.

I’ve given up on this place. Since my last review, we’ve been back twice. The first time we gave up after waiting an hour for our simple breakfasts. We just left. Not worth waiting an hour for breakfast. This time was even worse. We were seated and ordered our food quickly enough. The waitress brought our coffee and promptly forgot about us for 25 minutes. I finally took our coffee cups to the counter and another waitress filled them. 10 minutes later(35 from when we got there) I went up to the counter to get a water refill(she never came to our table to check on us at all). FInally after 45 minutes, I went up to see what was taking so long. Another waitress said the cook had finally gotten to our order. 10 minutes later we were actually getting up to leave and our waitress finally waddled back with our«food». The girly ordered the hot sausage breakfast sandwich(which was salty, soggy and not Patton’s sausage). I ordered 1 egg over medium, a biscuit and gravy and an order of bacon. What I got was 2 eggs(one over easy and one over hard), bacon and salt flavored glue over a hard tack biscuit. I sent that back and told the waitress how bad it was. It was saltier than the bacon and their bacon was pretty salty. We heard the cook defend the order. We were on the other side of the wall where she(cooks might not be the right word) does stuff, saying the gravy was straight from the bag and she didn’t add salt. Straight from the bag??? What the heck? I have a feeling that almost everything that CAN be frozen and microwaved is being microwaved. It was a constant sound of it dinging that could be heard throughout the«meal». A couple came in about 5 minutes after us sat there with no refills and no breakfasts for about 30 minutes and decided to go get some food somewhere else. I really wish we would have saved ourselves the trouble and gone somewhere else too.

This has a small town atmosphere that’s hard to find these days. My husband and I were there for lunch and were amused by the witty banter of the wait staff and cook. I had the shrimp and grits and it was just perfect. I’d never had gravy in my grits but I will most definitely be going back for more. Everything looked good though. Even my scrambled eggs were perfectly fluffy. Great food! Great service! And get a donut on the way to work!

On a long and boring day at work my coworkers and I were looking for something different for breakfast. A quick search and I found Goody’s Café. It is a 24⁄7 little diner on the westbank that provides breakfast, lunch, and lots of donuts! I ordered the Goody’s Omelet which is made from 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, and veggies. It was a crazy mix of stuff together with lots of flavors. Cheese melted on top as well. It came with a side of grits, which unfortunately were a major disappointment to me. Too much butter and it was bland. We had to add a lot of salt and pepper to bring out the taste. I ate a Maple Donut for a little dessert as well and I did really enjoy that. The major appeal for Goody’s would have to be that they are open all day. I can place an order in the middle of the night and pick it up. The staff is alright with a few smiles and generally nice, though I think our multiple orders and separate checks probably annoyed them. Other than that and some food misses, it is a reasonable option when nothing else is open and pricing is fair as well.

I’m a Texas girl, and crave kolaches every time I’m not home. The problem is, you can’t seem to find them anywhere outside of the Lone Star state. Imagine my excitement when, on my way home from a fasting blood test, I saw a sign for kolaches! I nearly killed myself slamming on the breaks to turn in for one. I ordered it and a king cake doughnut for my son, as it was Mardi Gras season, went to my car, and did the most safe mama thing ever, I ate while driving. Hey, my stomach was digesting itself, don’t judge! After all of my excitement and anticipation(I hadn’t been back home in months), I was left horrifyingly dissapointed. This thing was nothing but a hot dog wrapped in what tasted like the breadsticks you bake from a can with a piece of suprisingly unmelted American cheese slice. My son liked it, because it’s basically a large pig in a blanket/hot dog love child. Not like the kolaches I inhale back home. The bread was just… wrong, and the hot dog component was jarring. It was billed as sausage. Technically, you aren’t wrong, but when I say sausage, I don’t mean hot dog. Please, kolache recipe creator, go to Donald’s Doughnuts on 146/Old Bayport Rd in Seabrook, TX(It’s only a 6 hour drive), and have a few kolaches. My favorites are the sausage, jalapeño, and cheese(the croissant wrapped one is exceptional, the traditional one is amazing, as well), ham and cheese, jalapeño boudain kolache(Also wrapped in a croussant), and BBQ pulled pork kolache. OMG amazing, you’ll thank me, and kolache business will improve exponentially if you use some of their ideas and then proper dough. They also spirt an amazing sausage, egg, and cheese croissant sandwich, and amazing breakfast tacos(Another thing I can, very unfortunately, rarely find done correctly outside of Texas). If that’s too long of a journey, find the closest Shipleys to the state line. Donald’s is better, but Shipley’s is good, too. I have to say, after the«kolache» experience, I cringe every time I see it flash on your sign when I drive by. What saved this review from one star status was that king cake doughnut. I’m not a sweets person, but snuck a bite from my son. That was a pretty spectacular doughnut, my son agreed by the rate he inhaled it without speaking!

I like my doughnuts fresh, big, and moist yet crispy and delicious. These are the doughnuts! I miss the ‘Tastee Doughnut’ shops they used to have around here but I’m glad they have this place to make up for them. Even Krispy Kreme didn’t compare(only in their original glazed did Krispy Kreme prevail). If you like doughnuts that don’t skimp on the size or fillings(I.e. Bavarian cream, jelly, etc), then this is the place.

This place absolutely crushes breakfast — delicious, real cheap, and a huge serving. The country fried steak was definitely one of the best I have ever had. What’s the problem? Extremely«blah» service. Takes forever, order gets confused, and they are constantly running back and forth to the window the give out the takeout orders, when you are standing right in front of them. Now, I know this is not the case for everyone — this is clear just be eating in there. There are a bunch of people who are«regulars,» addressing all the staff and each other by name, ad just hanging out forever. Is this a bad thing? No, I think it makes it an awesome local place. Just be aware, it will take some time for you to get in the cool people club. Would probably recommend, will be back.

On my way too work I decided to check out this little whole in the wall café. I am glad I did. Unlike so many uppity places I have been to here in New Orleans most of the regulars were blue collar workers. The waitresses were not wearing uniforms, they were wearing there street clothes. Your classic Diner/Dive restaurant. In other words my favorite kind of place. When I went in I was greeted by a friendly waitress. Well she was more flirty than anything else but that didn’t bother me. In fact I kinda liked it. ;) The food they serve here is breakfast/lunch which is available 24⁄7. They sell doughnuts and other pastries. They have a drive thru window too. This morning I had some breakfast. What I had was one egg, hash browns, bacon and a biscuit. The one thing that I ecstatic about was how they did my eggs. I asked for eggs over medium, and guess what. They got it right! Its only the second place here in NOLA that has succeeded in getting that right. Before I left I tried one of their doughnuts. A Boston crème pie doughnut I believe, simply delicious! All that food, my orange juice and even the tip it was still under $ 10 dollars. In short this place has a lot going for it. Great service, great food, open 24/7,very cheap prices and it is incredibly close to the Job site. With all of these great incentives they definitely have a repeat customer.
