I still like Java Haute a lot. It’s kinda out of my way to get there because of where I live and where they are, but I make an effort to go there anyway. They are always friendly despite the fact that they are always really busy. It’s kind of a gathering place for friends to meet and people who have business to meet and get to work. Free WiFi allows those who have computers, iPhones and Android devices to connect to the internet and get some work done that way or play on sites like Facebook or other sites. Talking to the gals at the counter who were working that day was kinda fun because we talked about different stuff. The last time that I was there, it was cloudy and seemed rather dark inside even though they have large windows to let in the light. I sat at the counter by the window and looked at the newspaper reading some selected articles that interested me this time. I ordered a vanilla latte which was really good, and a flourless chocolate cake which was dark chocolate, had a rich chocolate flavor and was like eating fudge. It was really good and I liked it so much. I wanted to stay longer, but since I had stuff to do, I couldn’t stay as long as I wanted. Still, I like Java Haute.

Fresh, delicious coffee. Nice selection of teas and other drinks. Friendly staff, great atmosphere, mostly cozy seating, and clean. Only complaint is the metal seats on the chairs. Have not eaten the food but everyone I’ve heard from has loved it. Two thumbs up!

Honestly the most poorly made beverages I’ve had in a long time. I ordered 3 hot chocolate and a cappuccino and had to return all of them to get them replaced because they were basically hot water. They made new ones but they were no better. I had a previous experience days before but thought maybe it was just because of new help but it’s been different people each time. This place used to be really good when they first opened but lately have been lesser quality than gas station coffee.

In Terre Haute for business, came to Java Haute to get some work done. That need has been satisfied; now let me procrastinate a bit by giving you the pros and cons: Pros –free wifi(the signs request that you make a purchase in order to use it, but what kind of person goes to a coffee shop and doesn’t buy anything?) –pleasant atmosphere… background music is quiet, and despite the fact that the place has been busy, it is not loud or chaotic at all. Lots of space between the various seating options(good for getting work done), cool ambience –coffee…both times I’ve been here in the last few days, the coffee has been nicely done. Not overbrewed, the subtler flavored come through –free refills on the brewed coffee! Cons –the food was OK, but not spectacular. Had a Thai grilled chicken sandwich with veggies and humus for the side(if you order a whole sandwich, it comes with veggies, chips, fruit, kale and bean salad(or something like that), or side salad). Sandwich had real potential, but was on the dry side. Good ciabatta, good ingredients, just needed more of the sesame dressing. Veggies and humus are fine, just underwhelming. –location: seems a little junky on the outside, but then again, so does most of TH. Summary: Great coffee and ambience, OK food. I’d stick with drinks and baked goods!

I was in Terre Haute for a week and visited this coffee shop multiple times before and after work. It seems to be a popular study spot for high school and college students. The wifi is free, the coffee is bottomless, and the shop stays open late, so I can see the appeal. There are plenty of tables and some of them are communal. When we went after work, I noticed some of the bigger tables were reserved, so finding an empty spot might be a challenge in the evenings. Be prepared to share a table or have a backup plan if you go here for a work meeting during peak hours.

Yes! What a wonderful little spot! I will come here again and again! What they do Right: 1) Indiana-made products! 2) Great partial-wall separated work space — would be amazing for a casual meeting space. 3) Outlets readily available for working at other seating locations. 4) Smoothies 5) Having non-coffee options! Room for Improvement: 1) The food side of things are not in operation on Sunday which is a major bummer. I understand if that crew needs a day off but maybe if some make-ahead materials could be made that could be stored in the refrigerated case and then just heated up by coffee staff — something like quiches or egg sandwiches — I would much prefer to patron this establishment than Starbucks. 2) I would like to see some recycling options.

This place has grown on me. It’s got this weird café/coffee house feel that somehow really works for them. Anytime I’ve ever gotten food I’ve never been disappointed. You probably won’t get stuffed but it’s not that kind of place. The food always tastes good. Still not the biggest fan of the coffee but it’s serviceable. It’s just got a great atmosphere. Most people are there to study so the noise level stays low but not so low that you feel like you can’t talk. I don’t know it’s just a nice place to relax and Terre haute needs more unique places like this.

Thus far as I’ve been looking to find the perfect cup of coffee, I must say although I don’t like carafes over fresh brewed coffee that java haute will brew it fresh if asked as they did for me as they were already brewing some before I walked in. The bees nknees is both favorable rich and moderately strong with an added shot of expresso. I would recommend java haute to anyone who wants a specialty coffee of their own. They also have a special card that will give you a free cup after a set purchase.

I live in Seattle– As a snotty coffee drinker from the capital of coffee in the US, I am giving JH5 stars. The coffee tastes good, not the best but def. better than Sbux. I have been coming here throughout the years, I have noticed improvements in the location, the food and the internet speed. Carry on!

Went to Java Haute back in June and it was great! We had sandwiches and iced coffee and it was all good. Super nice people too. Looking forward to returning.

Been to Java Haute dozens of times and the coffee and food are always good. I usually get their cold brewed iced coffee, and that’s always great. Muffins are very good; their egg sandwiches are tasty, but a little expensive for what you get; and they have some interesting sandwiches. A few comfy chairs if you’re there to read, and plenty of outlets and free WiFi for laptops. Staff are super friendly. One of my favorite places to sit and think here in Terre Haute.

Java Haute is my favorite coffee shop in the area. I’ve been spending long days working and studying here since before they expanded back in 2011, I think. The service here is excellent. The baristas are friendly and talented. They always have a recommendation if you aren’t sure what you want. They are great at getting to know their regulars and making guests feel welcome. This place gets pretty busy, and you’ll frequently see students here studying, groups doing bible study, and others having work meetings. The free wifi is a nice perk, but I suspect many people would still use it as a work/study location even if not. They do reserve tables, especially for larger groups, so that’s really nice! I was so excited when they started serving food; the menu has changed a few times but I’ve never tried anything I didn’t like. The Urban Farmer and Greek breakfast sandwiches are so delicious! My favorite sandwich is the Baked Potato Grilled Cheese, but the Tavern Ham Orchard is also really good. There is usually a small wait for food, but it’s definitely worth it! I don’t recall ever waiting more than 10 – 15 minutes for food, even when they are super busy. The Turtle Mocha is my favorite drink, rivaled by the Bee’s Knee’s Latte they just started serving earlier this year. The Turtle Mocha tastes just like you’re drinking a chocolate turtle, and it’s great in both hot, frappé, and iced forms. Java Haute is a great place to take a bit of work or a good book, enjoy a great meal or some coffee, and relax for a bit.

Java Haute looks pretty sketchy on the outside, but once you walk in, it’s a cute little café. They have a drive through and places to sit inside. I ordered the latte with vanilla and honey in it. I usually drink black coffee, but the cashier recommended it. It was sweet but I could still taste the coffee flavor. I have also had their mango iced tea which is refreshing. The furniture and art on the walls is fun to sit in and look at, respectively. I would have loved to sit in the booths, but they were all taken when I went. It looks like a quaint little place to do homework if you live by the nearby colleges.

This place. Wow So I’ve been a Starbucks person for my weekend coffee trips. Being all wild and crazy… my wife and I decided to stop into Java Haute. Incredible. This is by far my new favorite place to sip coffee. My wife usually gets a chocolate cake to go with hers… the exact name escapes me… and I go with the cinnamon coffee cake. Both are excellent. Since this is a coffee spot, I’ll add the coffee is spot on! I love the atmosphere in this place. The art on the walls are a nice touch. The staff is super friendly. Go check it out! You won’t regret it!

This is an odd review to write because(wait for it)…I don’t drink coffee. However, I come here a lot to meet with friends. The atmosphere is awesome. Free wifi and perfect lighting make a relaxing spot that’s easy to stay and surf the net or chat with buddies. I’ve never tried anything off the menu but(for what it’s worth) my friends love it.

Java Haute is a medium-sized café with two sides(an ordering side and an eating side) that don’t look like they go together, which is too bad since they have an awesome mural on one wall. Despite the offset room, we had a great experience! When we got our medium espresso at Java Haute, it was a lot weaker than we’re used to in Portland, OR(land of great coffee/espresso). Lucky for us, the people at the counter were so friendly! They offered to add an extra shot(which we offered to pay for), and they offered it free of charge, saying they strive to just make people happy with their drinks. Pretty awesome, right? And, the third shot was the charm!
