As a responsible parent, we constantly worry about our children. I stayed home with mine until about age 2, and then I decided it was time to return to the workforce. My quest for childcare began… I began looking into Nannies; whom I would be working to bring in an annual income for them. Found someone I thought was nice, had experience in the daycare environment, and during our interview tried to convince me sending my children to daycare was not a good idea… I gave her a 2 week trial run, which turned out to be a nightmare. So I decided to enroll them in daycare, and found KinderCare(see my KinderCare Paramus review). But then the negatives started, and I was back searching. I decided to pull my kids out of daycare temporarily and have them stay with my parents, whom are retired, during the day until I found a new place. Calling calling calling, and driving around. My mom and I discovered CHILDREN’S CORNER. Perfect timing finding this place, located in Tenafly on W. Clinton Ave. The school utilizes unattached space of the Methodist Church next door and run by, Ms. Irene preschool Director whom is quite pleasant, and easy to talk to. It does not have the charm of say the KinderCare we attended. But my kids Love it! And if they love it, I love it. Its a Preschool and not a daycare, which is the part I love most. Knowing my child is learning and not just playing all day is exactly what I was looking for. You must provide all meals and snacks, blankets/sheets, and pull ups and diapers/wipes. Pros: Awesome teachers(Ms. Colleen and Ms. Shereen) Affordable Convenient location Diversity(Race/Nationality/Religion) Cons:(not too many but ones to note) 1– Kids get sick every so often(might be a school norm, but has to be mentioned) 2– Playground needs a face-lift; it has gravel and cement grounds. Toys are very dirty. A fundraiser to rebuild a park might be a good thought. But like I said, my kids love it. We ended preschool on a good note, and I enrolled them in their Camp, no complaints… looking forward to starting the upcoming school year with them.
