A Ride Awaits

I feel terrible, but I forgot the driver’s name who also owned the company. Whoever you are, you were a lifesaver! I stayed in Paso Robles for a friend’s wedding without realizing that most taxi services were unwilling to drive us to the SLO airport if you had told them that on the phone. Unfortunately, it had to come down to having to have the driver go out a bit and trick him or her into driving us that far. With that being said, A Ride Awaits wasn’t going to turn us down for that inconvenience, knowing they could cash in during this opportunity knowing the likelihood another means of transport for us was next to zilch. But instead of taking advantage of this and racking up the price, they kept the price standard and even lower than the estimate costs of Über or Yellowcab should these services have been willing to drive us. In fact, I’m a bit scared that this awesome cab might go out of business for having such competitive pricing!
The driver/​owner was a fun guy who loved sharing stories and was privy to all the local events. It seemed like he knew everybody in the county too as people would say «hi» to him at a few places and at the airport. If you get the chance, ask him about his friend who owns an island, that one was my favorite!
