The food was cold, the gravy was cold. The Hitler cashier lady wants to charge for each and everything they do for their customer, including charge for extra chips, charge for a «togo» cup for iced tea, no discount for kids. I’m surprised they don’t charge to seat you. I will never go there again for fear of a charge for parking.

I really like this place when the food is fresh usually around lunch and dinner time. I’m seriously addicted to the egg drop soup and I like the fact they offer the most meat varieties than other Chinese buffets in temple unlike others have mostly starchy(filler) items. The food is delicious and I go about 2−3x a month.

Chinese’s buffet @ about $ 25 for two. While they have a great variety and the place is clean, the food is awful. Is not worth the money.

Ill give this place 3 stars cause its not the worst, but not the best either. I guess for buffet style this place is one of the better options in temple. I used to love the location in killeen, so i was pretty jazzed about this place, but i cant say im loving it. I do like it, but think the food could be better. They do have a good selection though, and im sure if you come during lunch and dinner times you will be getting fresher food, so that might help too. They also have a nice little desert section, and my 4 yr old loves this place. So they will have my business until a better places comes along or i move.

Not bad… this coming from someone spoiled by Chinese Food Buffets back when I lived in the Bay Area.(–2 stars) Wished they had more servers though because it is really unappetizing to see piles of dishes stacked up as you are seated… some even doesn’t get cleaned until we were done.(–1 star) As some have mentioned, there is a bit of an unwelcoming vibe from the two staff members on the front end.

There was a piece of metal wire in our chicken… We sat there waiting for 45 minutes for the fresh chicken to even come out. I have a picture it won’t let me upload on here but it was NOT okay. I showed the«manager» and her excuse was that not all of the chicken has wire in them… WHAT? And she refunded me for ONE meal, not even both of our meals and NEVER apologized for my experience. She acted like it was okay and like it happened quite often. AVOIDTHISPLACE. ****I shared my story on Facebook and also have MANY reports of cock roaches being cooked into the food and seen around the food.

$ 2 for a huge bowl of wonton soup? Yes, please! Super yummy and a great source of warmth on a cold and drizzly day! A must stop spot for good soup!

Love this place! It’s easily the best buffet in Temple, TX. They’ve got something for everyone. Fried catfish, peach cobbler and awesome yeasty roles. Then of course there’s the amazing Chinese food. Shrimp of every kind, a great salad bar and a huge selection of sushi, there’s 4 types of soups, tons of different veggy dishes, sausages, chicken, pork, beef and fish.

Average Chinese and asian food fair. But what makes it great for families is the quantity they have on hand and the massive selection. It also makes the kids happy that there is also soft serve ice cream after they get their fill for dinner.

The food here is pretty awesome and this is coming from a picky eater, especially about her Asian cuisine. The buffet is chocked full of everything from rice noodles to pizza and it’s pretty fresh too. The restaurant was clean and there were plenty of places to sit, and it’s absolutely beautiful inside and out. Great parking all around and it’s in an easily accessible area of town. You pay before you eat, which is nice given most buffets like to surprise you with a hefty bill afterward, and for what it’s worth it’s not too expensive, either! The food? It’s one of the better buffets I’ve been to. The reason I’m giving this review a 3/5, is because of the service. Maybe I caught the staff on a bad day a few times. I know this is a buffet, but that doesn’t mean you can forget how to treat your customers. Yes, I’m talking about the ladies at the front desk. First of all when my friend and I walked up one of the girls was off to the side glancing at her phone. I tried not to let it bother me. Hey, maybe she was on break, maybe she had an emergency, you just never know about these things so I shrugged it off. When I came up to the counter this young lady looks up at us; her posture was that of someone who really didn’t want to be there. She looked up and monotonously asked about the number of people in our group(there was two of us at the time) and told us how much it’d be. We had paid and had just forgotten to sign the receipt, so as we started to walk to our table she very, not loudly but rudely says«well you have to sign the receipt.» We apologized and she rolled her eyes. That’s right, she rolled her eyes. Cell phone girl then proceeded to show us to our table. She didn’t tell us to enjoy our meal or ask us about anything, just kinda. «here’s your table.» We simply shrugged it off and went on to enjoy our meal. Halfway through our supper(which was flipping amazing by the way) another one of our friends decided he wanted to join up with us and my friend was going to pay for him so we went to meet up with him. The girl that checked us in looked at us with a «why are you here again?» look, and after explaining that it was kind of last minute, rolled her eyes, AGAIN, and let out a long sigh. Seriously? If you hate working in customer care so much, do not sign up to be a cashier. I was about to say something to the manager but I’d come all the way from San Antonio to visit with my friends, enjoying their company was my top priority. My friend frequents Yank Sing and she told me this is not the first time this has happened. I wouldn’t mind going again for the food, but the overall experience was rather unpleasant due to the unprofessionalism while checking in/out.

This place has gone down hill quite a bit since we have been here last. Yank sing used to be our go-to Chinese buffet, not any more. The egg rolls were burnt on the outside and mushy on the inside, sesame chicken was nothing but gristle, even the biscuits were hard as a rock. I hate to complain about restaurants but when price goes up and quality goes down, something is wrong. The only thing I had that was good was the noodles and the crab Rangoon.

I’m really surprised by this place. It has a lot going for it but I’m not sure where it’s going. The location is great and the curb appeal is nice enough. The interior décor is actually very nice and orientalish.(I made that word up) But the good stops there. The 2 girls at the front need some serious hostess training. Even a smile would be nice. And then there’s the food — lots of it. The salad bar consists of lettuce and dressing. OK, so it’s a Chinese food restaurant — but still a few things at the salad station would help. The entrée selections are many but they all seemed to be lacking what it takes for a good buffet. Nothing was bad – just not quite there. For $ 10.21 there are much better Chinese buffets around. I suggest a change in chefs or some chef training in Chinese cooking. Soy sauce, ginger, garlic and fresh veggies come to mind. I’ll give it one more shot next time I’m in Temple – if no improvement – I’m movin’ on.

I’m a hypercritical former New Yorker used to extremely high quality authentic food. Most Central Texas food has NOT met my standards. This is NOT one of those places… I enjoy visiting here regularly! Admittedly, I’m really horrified at the reviews on here. Maybe things used to be bad with this place? Maybe there’s a local business that’s having people leave really bad reviews? But, I’ve been coming here since 2010 – 2011 and it has been nowhere near the experience a lot of these folks say it is.(Then again, when one of the reviewers calls the quiet, clean, middle-class clientele«riff-raff,» you might need to think twice about trusting the reviews.) There’s a lot I like about this place. 1. You pre-pay for your meals, and the meals include the drinks. Two people will cost you about $ 23ish. This also doesn’t create the awkward situation of «Gee, do I need to add a tip on top of this, considering I served myself?» They also have a senior citizen discount. 2. The buffet bussers actually replenish the food quite regularly and clear your table in a comfortable, non-pushy manner. The plates at the buffet are CLEAN, DRY and HOT like they’ve been sterilized, which is more than I can say for other buffets I’ve been to. I have never become ill from eating here, and I have GI issues. 3. The atmosphere is awesome. They’ve recently renovated the entire place with fountains, marble counters, granite floors, and lacquered tables and chairs. It’s very comfortable, lit with ambiance, and low-key. The staff has NEVER, EVER been rude or nasty towards us. 4. The food — the most important part — is actually quite decent, and is always hot and fresh. Not for nothing, when you make the mistake of visiting a buffet at the end of lunch and towards dinner, why do you think they’re still serving lukewarm lunch leftovers? It’s because the dinner buffet costs like $ 5 more a plate and you paid for LUNCH, not DINNER. I LOVE this place’s sushi. It’s always nice and cold. They’ve got all sorts of awesome combinations, like salmon, shrimp, chicken, Cali rolls, etc. Unlike another local restaurant in Temple that costs way more money and begins with«dy» and ends in «nasty,» they don’t have a «2 piece sushi limit.»(What’s the point of a buffet if you’re limited on what you enjoy?) Additionally, there are tons of dinner entrees and sides to choose from. Plenty of seafood and tons of plump, succulent, dumplings stuffed with meat. Forget boring white rice — try the fried rice, the Singapore mei-fun, or a big piping hot bowl of soup. The food is plenty spicy, and has distinct flavor to it. They have really really tasty huge chocolate chip and oatmeal cookies and very cute delectable little pastries to enjoy for dessert. There is always plenty of hot coffee and tea to enjoy with your dessert. Let’s sum this up – Waco has a couple of decent Asian restaurants, and I drive from Waco to come to this place, that’s how much I enjoy it.
