Rita’s Taqueria

The food and service are outstanding. The cheese enchiladas are awesome! The salsa was also great and fresh! This place is a must for your Mexican food cravings.

Rita’s Taqueria was a blessing in disguise, I’m so happy this Restaurant opened up, delicious Mexican food with a great price. My favorite is there soft tacos, Lengua, Cabeza, you have to try it yourself. And of course there friendly service. Try something new you never know what dish will be your favorite.

I read all the reviews about this place. I tried it out and was not all that impressed. The waitress was like clueless, but! nice. the food was mediocre/​average. Too much salt or sodium.. The owner was super nice as well. But1 rating the food here. Temple is flooded with Tex/​Mex, Latin restaurants and most fall short of impressive. I have been to 5 thus far and still searching for the WOW! factor, Super disappointed.

This taco mecca of Temple is everything people say it is! Fast, friendly service all bundled together in a small, clean little taco shop. Although it’s a Taqueria, you can still get all of your Mexican food favorites here, including enchiladas, tamales, gorditas, tortas and more! Tucked away in a little strip mall with little more than a gas station, this spot will soon be the crown jewel of 5^th street!
The staff are quick to greet everyone who comes in in a manner that makes you feel welcome and sincere, not forced. Once seated, everyone is given a nice basket of high quality chips and salsa. Oh, the Salsa! Two varieties, HOT Green Chili and a Red medium. If you’re a fan of Hot, you’ll have to request the green. Both taste amazing by the way!
The menu is large enough to have something for everyone, and small enough for them to be able to focus on a few things very well. They have a chalk sandwich board up front with their daily specials which change often. Today I had the barbacoa, fajita steak and Al Pastor tacos on corn (is there any other way?) The Al Pastor tacos really stole the show! The owner Leo-​Marie is very involved in the operations and she rounds regularly with all the guests to make sure everyone is happy with the food. My waitress, Sarah, introduced herself right away when I sat down and did a fantastic job making food suggestions and checking in. I plan on making many more stops here during future visits to temple. I suggest you put Rita’s Taqueria on the top of your to do list!

Best taco place in town! Amazing and never had cactus before but had it here! So good! First time eating here and won’t be the last! Awesome service and great location! Will be back many more times!!!

If you are looking for delicious tacos come here! By far the best in Temple, TX! Delicious meats topped with fresh cilantro and onions! My favorite by far is the napalitos!!! Will be coming back for more!

Love the Mexican food in this area so it’s a lot to say that this is a new favorite. Great food and prices. Loved the variety of hot sauce options. Fish tacos were surprisingly good!

Had the chile rellenos and the cheese enchiladas. Kids had the cheeseburger and cheese quesadillas. Everything was absolutely delicious. Hands down the best in temple, but moreover the best Mexican food we’ve had anywhere in a while. Reminded me of the mexican food you will find in New Mexico.
Owner, Leo, is friendly and was nice to chat with. Server was friendly and attentive. We’ve found the only Mexican place we will frequent in the area.

I am visiting my family in Temple and we wanted to find a Mexican restaurant since the quality of our previous favorite had declined. Based on their Unilocal reviews, we visited Rita’s. Exterior is rough but the inside is very bright and clean. Service was excellent.
We had the chicken fajitas, chicken enchiladas and the crunchy fish tacos. All were excellent. Sauce on the tacos was creamy and spicy. Very tasty.
Refried beans tasted freshly made. Texture of the sautéed vegetables in the fajitas was exactly how I like it.
Rita’s was an exciting discovery. We will be visiting Rita’s next time we are in Temple.

Tacos are delicious best I’ve had in a while. I give this place a thumbs up! Will definitely be coming back for more. They had mariachi playing at lunch on a Friday not sure if it’s a regular thing here but it was great entertainment while I enjoyed my tacos.

Pleasant restaurant. Waitress was attentive & knowledgable about the food. I had the crispy fish tacos wish were awesome. And it was exactly as she described it was delicious crunchy beer batter fish. My hubby had the cheese enchiladas plate. He said they were delicious. For complimentary they gave us warm chocolate cake with vanilla ice cream mmm. Thumbs up for this quaint Mexican Restaurant.

New taqueria in town. Normally that would evoke a big yawn. Stopped in on a recommendation and enjoyed a really fantastic fish taco made with fresh ingredients. This place stands out from the standard taquerias on every corner. Very clean dining room located in a former laundry mat. They fixed it up nice and apparently take pride in the food they serve. I’m betting you’d enjoy it. Directly behind Temple College on 5^th Street. Crummy location. Worth the stop.

Super friendly service and solid Mexican food. Breakfast tacos are comparably priced but their ingredients are super fresh. And their salsa beats everyone else’s.

Great new restaurant… very clean, friendly and can’t say enough about the food. It’s like having our own Mexican Jack Allen’s right here in Temple! Everything is made fresh and you can taste it. We had chips and salsa (and nothing can touch fresh handmade salsa), chicken quesadillas, a barbacoa burrito and tacos al pastor. Everything was delicious. Service was friendly and attentive, but not overbearing. The restaurant was spotless. All of this was topped off when the owner brought us our dessert — the ChocoFlan. I can’t do justice to how good this flavor combination is, but trust me you’ll want to save room for it. All in all a new gem in central Texas and immediately into our top three go to restaurants.
