Came here to study on a weeknight with a friend. It was pretty empty except for a few other people. They have renovated since the last time I came and it looks much nicer. There’s more tables and better lighting. My friend ordered the wonton soup — it wasn’t very good. Too salty and seemed like frozen ones. I got a hot milk tea with half sugar and I really liked it. Overall good place to study since there’s wifi and lots of outlets but not a place for food.

I’ve asked for extra egg pudding and got less than a scoop of it. the server that couldnt speak English laughed and kept repeating my order over and over again. She was rude with bad customer service F+ there’s never again coming back.

This is usually my go-to study spot since people usually just come and study here, but today they were playing their music so loud that I couldn’t even study… –_– So I kindly asked them if they could lower the volume since literally every single table in here has their hw out… but I guess no poops were given bc the music became even louder. I don’t think I will be studying here again.

I came here to study because the tea/boba places near my house in Rosemead were packed with people. This is a pretty open area good for studying but the bell at the entrance kept on going off. Service is not the best and the drinks are not as great. What made me especially mad was the fact that they put up misleading signs all over the tea house. They made the sign look like the top 5 drinks were the buy one get one 50% off option! Sneaky marketing trick on their end. Don’t be fooled like I was.

There was plenty of seats for studying but the noise from the motion sensor for the door was constantly going off and was a distraction. The sign they were using to advertise new drinks was also misleading. We thought we were going to get 50% off for the drinks they had listed but instead it was the pictures that had the discount.

Service was really sucky. Ordered a large slush. Waitress’ clothes dipped into my slush as she was leaning over the table. I told her she dipped her clothes into the drink and she gasped as she walked away with a patch of colored slush on her chest area. Wtf? She never came back. Told another waitress if she could give me another one.

This is one of my default study places because they have lots of seating, free wifi and a wide variety of drinks to choose from. This place use to be a lot more packed but I guess the tenju hype died down. The service here is friendly as well, but they don’t speak english too well. I usually get a tea here. You know it’s good quality tea because it’s an asian place! They brew their teas fresh with tea leaves or bags. You can taste the difference between this is powdered tea! I like their selection of special teas. Overall, great place to just grab a drink or to go study since they close pretty late. Add a picture on Unilocal, facebook, instagram, wechat and get 15% off your order. It’s simple!

This place use to be the shit when I was in highschool, back in 2010. After today, I see why I no longer come here anymore. I ordered a large cherry rose milk tea, which was one of their specialty teas, for $ 5. The guy told me it was one of the popular items and I just trusted him without knowing that I am able to smell the tea first before ordering. After I got the drink, it was the shittiest $ 5 drink I’ve ever gotten. Being an unsatisfied customer, I asked if I could have another drink. And you know what the dude said? «Next time, smell the tea first». Uhhh… say what?! I was never offered the option to smell the teas. If your drink sucks, don’t charge $ 5. If the customer doesn’t like it, don’t talk back and just make a new one. I should’ve asked them to taste it and see what they think. Rude! Le Arbre and Oh My Pan has never treated me this way. In the end, I got a normal milk tea that’s not worth $ 5. Take my money because that’ll be the last time I’m coming here.

I thought this was a franchisee, but apparently there are different owners. That wouldn’t matter except the quality is vastly different. I normally buy my green tea Boba from the store in hacienda/Rowland area, and love the authentic brewed tea taste. But I was at roseMead today and visited the local tenju store. The tea is very light in flavor, and the boba was chewy but lacked the usual sweet flavor. Not the same and not as good… I do not recommend this Tenju.

Eh. It’s ok. Prices are about average, and the staff seem like they’d rather be somewhere else. Location is large, so that’s pretty cool, and they have games that you can borrow. Boba quality drops rating to 3 stars.

Possibly the worst boba place in SGV. Don’t bring a friend. Their drinks consist of beyond-soggy boba, SUGAR(I ordered 50% sweet but still tasted like them sugar on steroids), and very low quality tea base. Extremely grumpy staff who don’t even bother to try and the horrendous interior design that is trying too hard. You let me down, Tenju. Why can’t you be as good as Tenju in hacienda heights? Ugh.

I came here yeaaaaaaaaaaaaars ago and sorta forgot about it. I recently remembered that they had a huge variety of beautiful teas and decided to come back(plus it was right across the street from one of the fave local Korean joints, Big Rice). I feel like they remodeled a bit since I was last there, and the bf said that they took out some selections of teas, but no big deal! Still had a ton to choose from, and they are all lined up on the counter in small glass jars for you to take a whiff. We got our teas(Monk’s blend is awesome!) with toppings without hassle… and it was great! Brewed right on time with flavor profile exactly how it was explained(and how we smelled it in the jars). Can’t complain :) Only issue would be that the employee was slightly awkward and didn’t really understand that we wanted to smell the tea jars to find out what the teas were… then was like«oohhhhh» and looked at us kinda strangely like no one ever gets their nice teas anymore. I’ll be back to try their other goodies – seems like they have a great variety in their food/snack options, so hopefully I’ll get a chance to try it soon!

I think they changed the owner of this place more than 3 times within a 3-year span, and each time they change to a new owner, the food items on the menu get smaller and smaller. But the prices never change. In fact, they even added more unnecessary items to the list of things on the menu you’ll probably never order. I often come here to get their large honey green tea to go due to convenience, but the last time I checked in to get a drink and spicy chicken to go, it took 30 minutes. I was not a happy camper. Drinks were watered down and my spicy chicken bits were made of pure chicken fat. Not coming back here, ever.

Despite all the three star reviews I have previously read, I decided to come here since most of the other boba places in the area were packed, and to my surprise I’m very impressed! Pros: + large work place! Bigger than most boba places i’ve been to + 15% off popcorn chicken on Fridays + I got the cream green tea 50% sugar and it’s delicious! + despite previous reviews, the workers here are fluent in english + workers are fast and friendly :) Cons: + Monk’s Blend Tea was awful. I’m so sad that this was the most popular drink! It tasted sour and almost like you took a lot of candy and pounded it and mixed it in with your drink. + when I asked for a description of the cream green tea, she just told me it was salty. Hmmm

Came here to have lunch a few days ago. I missed the ~$ 5 lunch special by THREE minutes! It would have been nice to try it. I COULD have gotten lunch special + drink for ~$ 8. FOOD: +Taiwanese Sausage with Rice($ 7.49) — this dish was OK. The portion was decent but the sausage itself was lukewarm when it came out. It just didn’t taste fresh or anywhere near as good as Sinbala. It does come with a side of corn and cabbage which was nice. I almost enjoyed the corn and cabbage more than the sausage itself. I would recommend staying away from this dish if you prefer«fresh» tasting food. +Upgrade $ 2.99 and you get either a regular green tea, black tea, or milk tea, with either a choice of soup or salad. I opted for a green tea and the soup which was an egg tomato soup. The green tea was also just OK. A little bit bitter but at the same time overly sweet, my taste buds were a bit confused — maybe I should have gotten it with boba. The egg tomato soup was bland and like the sausage, luke warm. +Popcorn Chicken($ 5.49) — At first, I didn’t understand why it was so expensive. I figured popcorn chicken should be around $ 4 to $ 5MAX… But once I saw the dish/portion come out, I understood why. The portion was enough for 2 – 3 people to snack on. The flavor was good, just like most other tea houses most items taste good when fried and seasoned with five spice powder! SERVICE: +Service was just OK. When I came in I was immediately seated and handed a menu. But it then took the worker almost ten minutes to come back and assist me with the order. After dropping my food off, I never saw him again until it was time to pay. He could have at least came and asked how the drink/food was. but no.

The only time I come here is to study. It’s a great study spot since not a lot of people know about it, everyone else be at other boba places in Alhambra or San Gabriel. Every time I come here, they keep changing their layout, which is fine. The current layout right now is pretty good. They also have plenty of tables and outlets! As for their drinks, it varies, sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, depends on the person making your drinks. They also have pretty good snacks. This is the only place I know of that can mix up snacks for you(you can mix up to 3). As for the service, it’s okay, limited English btw. They only come take your order, give you your drinks/snacks and they never bother you again unless they need to close out their cash register. The only thing that sucks is that sometimes their AC’s is off when there isn’t anyone there. I went the other day, and I was practically dying from the heat. They only turn it only when the place is a bit full.

The only reason I come to Tenju is to study.(The larger tables are in the back and are usually reserved for big groups.) Tenju has plenty of tables, free Wi-Fi, good drinks, and decent popcorn chicken… which makes it a perfect place to study. On rare occasions they’re blasting metal Korean music really loud… lol! But usually the music is okay. The servers are pretty friendly, although their English might not be the best. Anyway, Tenju serves its purpose for me just fine. I’ll be back when I need to study. P. s. the egg pudding is good! I get it in my Almond Milk Tea yumm! Oh yeah the popcorn chicken portion size varies! Kinda weird, I guess it depends on who is working the fryer.

It has been more than a year since I came back here and I see that Tenju got new laminated menus and renovated the whole café with new tables and seats. Drinks were pretty decent, but snacks still taste pretty average. Snacks(3 items with popcorn chicken, crispy tofu, and curly fries — $ 7.49): Basically you can pick 3 different snack items for a fix price of $ 7.49. The food portion was underwhelming with somewhat salty seasoning. 7.(Specialty Tea) London Royal Black Tea($ 2.99 regular): The sweetness was just the way I like it — not amazing, but pretty good! I will give extra 0.5-star and bump up to 3.5-star for its new atmosphere, but snacks could definitely get some additional improvements(cheaper prices, healthier snack selections, and less salty snacks).

Decided to try this place out since we saw it across the parking lot. It was quiet and the girl that took our order was new, her first day. But things went pretty smoothly, even with the Unilocal check-in coupon. I tried: Thai Milk boba tea — exactly what I expected it to be(that’s a good thing). Watermelon slushie — super yummy Popcorn chicken — a must order Fried green beans — my obligate vegetable, but will order again — I love green beans anyhow. LOL They also have a ton of different teas on display…
