This is the first time I’ve written a review because this place is so delicious! My boyfriend and I have tried so many different sushi places and finally came across this one. The sushi was so fresh and the happy hour prices were great. It’s a very small place but the staff was very friendly and attentive the whole time. Defiantly give this place a try but not on Sunday’s.

Great! The food is good, the only problems are the AC: a bit cold and the parking: a bit small

Great tuna roll! Fresh and tasty! Great happy hour deals, including by a beer or sake and get a free sake… whaaaaaaatt!!! Love it! Tempura was crisp and buttery. Interior a little small(read 6 tables) but cozy and warm. Overall quite impressed with the food!!!

We were the only ones there at first but the employees and chef were so friendly and were great! I couldn’t believe how fast everything came. The special was two rolls and miso soup for $ 12 and that was a great deal! Each roll we ordered was so delicious! Also the green tea ice cream was my favorite! We are new to Arizona and will definitely be coming back to this place. It is also very nicely remodeled and a great addition to a wonderful meal was them throwing in some 80s music lol it was overall a wonderful place to eat. Highly recommend.

Was disappointed that they no longer offer salmon teriyaki. I settled with the Chicken teriyaki that was horrible. Dry, no flavor. Vegetables were soggy and left my rice tasting like mush. Very dissatisfied, won’t be returning.

Daughter is out busy today, so we decided to get sushi for lunch. Started looking for good recommended family places(ie not chains) to try out. Happened upon this little gem, and just so happens to be really close by(bonus). Husband ordered the special(CA roll, goya, & miso soup), and then we decided to split Alaska Roll, Rainbow Roll, & Spicy Salmon. Everything tasted fresh and very tasty! Snuck a taste of the miso soup, and it was very nice. We both liked the that it was a great, small neighborhood sushi restaurant. Nice background music, and the owner was behind the sushi bar making the roles. He was very accommodating on my «no mayo» request. =) The one thing that I will note is that the hours showing on here are incorrect. Unilocal says 12, but the door says 11:30. Also, this place is CLOSED on Sunday

Second time going proves the first was no fluke of excellence. This is my new goto spot. It seems like a family run, authentic, small space that purely cares about great food. I would take family, business, or a date to this quiet venue.

We came here after reading the reviews on Unilocal,at first I was a little skeptical because of the pictures. The restaurant didn’t look nice, however they remodeled everything and it’s look great! They had a special today, one Las Vegas roll, one California roll and a Miso soup for $ 12(I think it’s fairly cheap) the Las Vegas was very good, as well as the miso soup. The rice of the California roll was a bit too dry for me. The sushi chef was very friendly, he wasn’t our server but he started talking to us. And we had a very nice/long conversation, he even took a picture with my friend ! We had a very nice time there, we will come back during Happy Hour to try it out!

I hate giving bad reviews, so I’ll be brief. The sushi was passable, the salad was drowned in dressing, the service was atrocious.

I’ve had this dream to be Samurai since I was little. I would to eat sushi, drink Sake’ and charm Geisha’s all day. Then I would go pillage and fight other Samurais’ with a bad-ass sword. Anyways, that never happened but this sushi is really fresh and good so you should eat here. The Saki is warm, delicious, and goes well with cold beer. The Chef is a awesome, he makes badass sushi. If you can’t be a Samurai… Eat here.

when I tell you this is the best sushi place around, I mean it. I have tried numerous sushi places from Unilocal and this is the best one by far. always fresh and you’re always greeted at the door when you walk in. you can seat yourself and I have never had to wait. My favorite roll is the surprise roll and I get it every time. Sometimes depending on how crowded it is, you might have to wait for your sushi because there is only one person making it. but the guy who makes it is the best and it’s totally worth the wait. If you’ve never been here, then I suggest you come try it. And if you are considering somewhere else besides sushi time, don’t do it! come here! love this place. my favorite sushi place ever.

I’ve been stuffing my face at this place since it had counter service only. First off, it’s small and family owned. Most of the time there is just the one guy making your sushi. Yeah, just one guy. At least I assume he is only one guy, because I see him behind the bar every time I come, day or night. He could be a series of clones, but I think he is just the hardest worker I’ve ever seen. Don’t come here expecting a conveyor belt of sushi workers churning shit out for your fat ass. Think of this as the kind of place you might stumble upon in actual Japan, where the owner makes sushi for you one order at a time. They also use some kind of hulk version of sushi rice that is never mushy. Since rice is the most distinguishing part of sushi, because it’s all pretty much the same otherwise, I enjoy it. Yes, I actually just spent time discussing some finer points of sushi rice. I’m not sure why men aren’t falling over themselves to sleep with me. Is rice not a hot topic? Who doesn’t love firm, yet supple rice?

I brought my family and extended family to this restaurant last night based on the good reviews others had left on Unilocal and the close proximity to my house and was grossly disappointed… First off — We waited well over an hour for our food when there was maybe one other table in the restaurant on a Thursday night. Granted we had a good size group that ordered cumulatively maybe 6 – 7 rolls, still disappointing. The beer was room temp warm when served and sushi was mediocre at best when we finally did get it. The chicken teryaki my son ordered dry and weird tasting and all of our fish was dried out and gross. The icing on the cake… While we were waiting for our food we saw a cockroach the size of a rat run across the dining room floor. It took us three times of telling our waiter about the thing before they finally got a dust pan and removed it. All this to the tune of one obscene bill… No discount for cockroaches at the table, long wait times, warm beer or poor service. Now, the stomach ache that comes with this place later that night and the next morning is also worth noting… The food there will send your body into an uproar that will keep you from ever wanting to go back. I definitely wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone or ever return back…

I’ve been coming here for years! My friend took me here for my first time and I have been hooked ever since! LoL It’s is a small establishment that has been remodeled. Right when you walk in you are greeted by the family like staff, very welcoming. I’m not sure, but I think it’s family owned. I always see the same guy making the sushi and pretty much the same waiters/waitresses. Now for the food. I think the portions are perfect, especially for the price. It’s hard to find great tasting sushi that doesn’t cost outrages amounts. I mainly get the sushi here so honestly I can’t express how I feel about the other things on the menu, but I’m sure they taste just as good. I definitely recommend this place for sushi lovers and people new to sushi. Don’t mess up your first sushi experience, you could be scarred for life! LoL Oooohh and they have a Happy Hour too!
