Is this Radio Shack even selling anything or is everyone constantly out to lunch? When this place has someone staffing it, the service is usually very good(4 out of 5), but every time I come here now, the store is locked during business hours. For example, today is Sunday, they’re open from 12P to 5P. I arrived at 2:20p to find the door locked, and the sign that said return information at 3PM. Being closed for 40+ minutes(nearly 20% of the days’ operating hours) seems excessive, especially for a business that’s already on the rocks for having a difficult time competing with e-stores, and especially considering it’s in a shopping center with a Peter Piper Pizza, an Indian restaurant, a taco stand, and a gas station. Let me tell you, if they’re worried about the store smelling like food when the customer comes in, I’d much rather smell food while I’m shopping than to drive all the way to my destination to wait half an hour before I can even exit my car in the sweltering Arizona heat. I’ve come here randomly throughout the last 3 months and of the 4 visits, one time they were open, twice«out to lunch» and once out to lunch but someone came rushing from the back to open the door. These are random times of the day. Is management aware of these«BRBs»? They don’t seem scheduled. If they’re scheduled, change the hours of operation to reflect that. If they’re not scheduled, shorten them. The time is now 2:46P. Not only did I have enough time to write this review while sitting in the parking lot, but I also had enough time to take my business elsewhere. 4 stars on service, –2 stars on availability. Customers don’t like being lied to, even if it’s an «Hours of Operation» sign doing the talking. See my picture for the sign I’m referring to. Edit: my girlfriend just pointed out the«Now Hiring» sign. While there’s a million things I could say like«hope they hire someone that can eat in 15 minutes or less» or «how are they going to hire anyone if they can’t get in the door?» I’ll just say this location has themselves in a catch 22, because if they keep losing customers, they won’t be able to afford extra staff, so good luck.

There is an employee named Rod Ballard that woks here– he is the reason for my 5 star rating. He has creatively help me solve electronic problems each time I’ve been in there(so far he is 3 for 3). This last time I brought in a broken remote control to a hydraulic table with tiny components… he worked with me for several hours until we got it working again– brilliant guy. This is my go to place for electronics now. A+ for customer service.

Friendly staff, and even though we were just browsing they were still attentive and gave us all the info we needed. He even offered to give us a call when they got new hard drives in next week for a lower price than what was in stock! We got some headphones for 10 bucks and the hubby got a car charger for his phone for 15! We were totally happy leaving this store, only reason I’m giving this store 4 stars is it smelled like BO inside lol!

Went to this Radio Shack to get a couple of cool birthday gifts for my grandson who turns 7 next week. I was looking for a SnapKit or other electronics project for him and grandpa to work on. They only had one SnapKit and he already has that one. There were very few age appropriate electronics projects or toys for him. It used to be that Radio Shack was your«go-to» store for electronics parts, cool electronics projects, toys, batteries, and gadgets. Now it seems more like a cell phone store(yeh, like there is a shortage of cell phone stores in the valley). I ended up ordering a SnapKit and another electronics project online from Amazon. The employees are OK and try to be helpful, they just don’t have much in stock to work with.

One of the few remaining places where you can get electronics parts. Some items aren’t always in stock though, and the selection of parts has diminished over the years to be replaced by flashy toys, cell phones, and other electronics. The staff here is generally pretty friendly.

If you need an odd-ball battery, it’s here! I’m all set on cell phones, but they seemed to represent all networks and had a large selection of phones. There’s plenty of staff on hand. I was in and out for the batteries I needed in about 2 minutes

Very nice and helpful staff. One guys always asks me too many questions but I figured he was just trying to be nice. They’re on top of trying to sell you a new phone and service. But when you shoot them down they get off your ass about it.

If only Unilocal offered negative star ratings. In need of a new cordless phone I stopped in a local Radio Shack. You would have thought it was crack the way two employees pushed the Philips cordless on me hard saying that is was the cream of the crop, that I would never experience interference between this phone and other signals, yadda, yadda, yadda. I didn’t have time to do my usual two months and 12 days of research so I went for it. It turned out to be a terrible purchase. We had the phone a few weeks before hooking it up, immediately experienced problems with… wait for it… interference, and struggled with it for about two weeks before attempting to return it. This time around Mr. and Mrs. Helpful Radio Shack Employee were not so much so, refusing to take it back b/c it was past 30 days.(Did I mention it had only been out of the box two weeks at this point??) Really awful customer service. A plus? Battery chains are a dime a dozen.
