Had my first and last appointment at Jon Ric. During my haircut my stylist was telling
me about a mask for my hair that would just color about half of the grey. I decided to give it a try. My hair is a blend naturally of ash blonde and grey/​white and I am very fair. The mask turned my hair a very DARK BROWN. Every strand was DARK BROWN! He said that the mask would wash out in about 20 washes, and if I used a shampoo named Sunday by BB, it would virtually be gone. NOT TRUE. I have used Sunday shampoo at least 20 times and have washed my hair at least 55 times in the last 3 months and it still is far darker then my natural hair. Still is about 50% dark brown. When I go to a salon I expect professional knowledge of the products they use and the appropriate application. The stylist should have known the results of the product he was using. Even with my telling him that I was shocked at the results and displeased I was still charged over $ 100.00 for services. Never again for this girl at that salon!

I’m a busy mom with no time and hardly any money for nice, professional haircuts (ie: many haircuts in my kitchen by friends in beauty school: sigh:)… but decided that enough was enough and I should try to look presentable as to not embarrass the children and the husband!
I found Jon Ric Salon in Tempe Marketplace and thought «Oh boy. Looks fancy. Definitely what I NEED, but will I be able to stand the prices and the snooty salon attitude??»
But I sucked it up and tried anyway. And boy am I glad I did!
Erica Smith is now my favorite stylist and I cannot say enough fabulous things about her. She was nice and polite and listened to what I had to say about not wanting to go bankrupt via haircuts. I needed a serious clean up and blow dry and she did both efficiently. I chopped a good 6 inches of locks and even my long-​hair-​loving husband was impressed. I loved it so much, I brought my 9-​year old daughter in for a «fancy haircut experience» which she loved, and have been back to see Erica every few months ever since.
The prices are great and the whole staff at the Salon really seems to enjoy working there. They are friendly and look you in the eye when they talk to you (something I have found lacking in other nice Salons…). They offer beverages and have the best hair products in stock that you can buy on your way out.

My experience wasn’t great… I left feeling a little bit disappointed after the amount of money I spent and the time I sat in the chair. The girl that I saw was very rough when she washed and combed. She was friendly but didn’t really treat me like a valued customer. Overall average rating because it was nothing special. Not bad not good just BLAH!

I love this place!
I met Nicole at the Unilocal in Bloom event (see attached pic) and she invited me to the salon. I was in dire need of a haircut, so I went to her for an inverted bob. It turned out beautiful! (see second attached pic)
Nicole did a great job! She listened to my needs and I was very satisfied!
