One of those places you really want to like but they miss so many of the little things that add up. Restaurant could use a new chef and some ambience; feels more like a Cocos that attempted Scallops and accidentally dumped the salt on them. They probably need to acknowledge that not everyone is on folksy time and might need to move things along. Rooms are nice but things like powdered coffee creamer, two bottles of water that have to last you your entire stay, and plastic wine openers give it a two star feel. The shower is large but the cheap shower head in the far corner again makes it feel two star. This place could make some solid changes and still keep whatever culture the Carters are trying to promote. Maybe I’m not the target audience.

Couples massage was quite relaxing, loved the ambiance. Friendly staff. Exact the fact that my husbands masseuse was quite small compared to his size, so he didn’t feel the relieve he was expecting to get after an hour massage and for the price he payed. But over all everything else was great

What can I say? All their wines are awesome. The place is huge. And we had excellent service from our server in the tasting room, I believe his name was Cosy(sp?). Great food at this place, too. Definitely a winery to hit while visiting Temecula Wine Country.

This place is for party people, not wine tasters. We stay across the street, which is entirely different. This place is horrible. Food is awful. I got sick and no comp was received. I’ve never been so appalled by a server’s lack of concern for their customer. No, I was not drinking.

Birthday getaway gone bad… where to start… :(:(:( I wanted to surprise my best friend for her birthday with a trip to Temecula because she spoke so highly of South Coast Winery so I decided to book a night stay at this hotel. The vineyard is beautiful and the décor is like Tuscany but the service was terrible. + The room wasn’t ready until late evening :( + They said they would call to let us know as soon as the room was ready but they didn’t! + ** I would have let all that go had they did what they did with the other guest and wished my friend a Happy Birthday! They couldn’t even do that. They even offer us a bottle but that’s part of the room package!!! WTF!!! #failed + The room provided looked half handicap and the room was missing all the normal stuff like shampoo and conditioner and why have a coffee machine with no coffee!!! + The customer service rep didn’t even provide us a map or parking pass for the car until we were able to checkin so I pretty much had to rely on Google maps to find my way around. Sort of sucked because when I got the map late that evening after checking, it was very helpful because it listed all the vineyards nearby. I definitely won’t be coming back and I wouldn’t recommend this place… The Ponte seemed to have a very nice staff that was helpful even with offering water even though we told them we were there just to check out the view. I’m so disappointment because even days later my friend is still sad about the experience so this definitely deserved a bad review! Hopefully you treat people better and not like I just come back with a GroupOn :( #birthdayfail #youruinmybirthday

My Birthday gift from my wonderful husband, first time getting a facial(Jenna was Awesome) and a full body massage but can’t remember what the fabulous woman’s name was but she gave the best massage. It was a fabulous experience for me everyone was very nice, the only negative thing I can say is for my first time and I’m a little shy seemed direction and customer service lacked a little. They told me I could order my lunch after my facial, but didn’t tell me where or with who, felt lost after massage on where to go and what to do. Maybe if first time people got a blow by blow a little more organized it would make it the perfect experience But all in all I loved it the place was clean.

I’ve been to South Coast Winery before for a business lunch at the restaurant and I enjoyed it every much. But this time, my husband took me on a wine tour of wineries of my choice in Temecula for our anniversary. I chose 3 with S coast being one and the last one we visited. The others were lesser known and we had a wonderful experience and made coming to wine country everything I imagined. When we got to SC winery it’s was packed with people that seemed ready to party and that’s just not my scene. We waited to long to get a spots the bar just to order our 1 oz tasters it made it uncomfortable to even stay. I don’t want to go wine tasting and it feel like a club experience I’m in my 30s and that is not enjoyable. 25 $ per person for tasting we will not be stopping here again.

Amazing! If you haven’t been to this resort you need to come. I was surprised by my fiancé for my birthday and this was defiantly a surprise. He booked the king villa suite. This suite overlooks the vineyard and our balcony is amazing! Pictures don’t do it justice. Restaurant is nice. Wines are delicious and they have packages to go and wine taste at different vineyards. Everything is so great we will defiantly be back. Great service! Try the banana foster pancakes for breakfast!

Crowded, and for good reason! It’s typically priced — $ 20 for 5 tastings and a good assortment of wines. The wine pourers are very nice and patient, and will give great recommendations when asked. Lots of seating areas outside and very scenic with plenty of picture opportunities.

I cannot say enough great things about the experience we had when we stayed at South Coast. We booked a Villa using the R&R package for the military. When we arrived they upgraded us to a mountain view villa that was fit for a king. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful. The villa itself was enormous with a breathtaking view. Worth every penny and more. These people definitely understand customer service and their prices reflect what you get. Can’t wait to go back.

Great place for a quiet and relaxing getaway. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main building. When we first arrived, the hotel staff was very friendly. The room itself was very comfortable. Great view of the vineyards, fireplace, tub, and shower. We booked the behind the scenes tour the next day at 11am. It was a smaller and more intimate tour because it was the first one on a Friday. We were able to learn the history of the winery as well as see the process of wine making. At the end of the tour they taught us more about wine and showed us what wines go with what foods. It was very informative. That same day we had an appointment at the spa for a deep tissue massage. VERYRELAXING! Good way to destress and get your mind off things. Overall it was a great experience and very relaxing place. Will come back again!

A great getaway in the heart of wine country. South Coast Winery Resort and Spa has it all! I’ve been here twice and I’ve been beyond impressed each time. There are so many positive things I can say about this place, so I’ll keep this review under control by listing a few key highlights: 1. Their wine is amazing. They’ve actually won over 2,000 awards(move over Napa). Personally I loved their 100 Cab, Ruby Cuvee, Sparkling Pinot Grigio… to name a few. But honestly, I didn’t try one I didn’t like. 2. Their resort is beautifully picturesque. Everywhere is picture worthy. There are grape vines spread out throughout the property and lush gardens. 3. Everyone that was working was kind and informative. A big shout out to our behind the scenes tour guide, Alyssa! She was wonderful and gave us a great tour. She was friendly, knowledgeable and answer every question! 4. The pool area is a great place to chill out and escape the heat! It’s a good size pool with several rental cabana areas. They also have food/drink service during the day. 5. The Grapeseed spa is wonderful. It is located next to the pool. The massage I received there was probably one of the best I’ve ever received(and I’ve had my fair share of madsages). The space is very relaxing and everything you expect from a spa. It’s a beautiful space to bring your hunny or girlfriends for a spa day. 6. I stayed in the villa and it was spacious, secluded, and comfortable(see my pictures). I haven’t stayed in the hotel, but I think I’ll come back for the villa experience. All around, I love this place. You never have to leave if you don’t want to, but it’s so close to other wineries and they encourage you to venture out and try other wines from the area. I lived that, because it showed that it’s not a competitive nature out there. They’re all in it together. My only suggestion would be to add vegan options to the menu. I was going to take off a star for it, but I honestly had such a great experience there, the lack of food options didn’t really hinder my experience… but really, I’ll definitely be back so please add some vegan food for me to your menu!

Room choices at Southcoast Winery Resort & Spa are villas that shares no walls with other tenants or suites in a «three-story all-suite hotel tower rising high above the vineyards.» Word of rolling«views for miles» were greatly exaggerated. Have you ever been enticed by an infomercial to buy a product only to discover it slightly skewed from reality when it reaches your hands? Our view was a small flat field of vines, our fire place was a heater, and our jet tub took all night to drain. We liked that 2 wine glasses and an opener was ready to be utilized on our table. We like the spacious restroom and roomy fridge. We liked that the gym can be entered after hours. As for hospitality, the staff was friendly but not detailed. Our check-in person could have mentioned that their restaurant was reservation-only for the next day(Easter Sunday). Their complimentary wine pourer(you get some free tastings with your stay) could have been a better conversationalist. Located in an area that thrives on tourism, I had higher expectations for this resort. At least a bottle of wine makes everything dandy, and I had more than one that weekend.

Every time I make the trip to Temecula I have to stop in here for a bottle of «California Girl.» It’s a sweet white and quite the crowd pleaser. Prices here are pretty reasonable compared to some of the other wineries in the area, and a tasting is well worth it. I’ve never stayed at the resort, but wine tasting here is a blast. The bartenders are sweet and helpful and may or may not sneak you a few extra tastes :) In the past I’ve also tried the fried shrimp and calamari appetizer during happy hour and it was very good with a light tempura-like batter. Though happy hour could have a little bit better deals on their wine — I think my glass was still $ 8.50.

We stopped in for a quick bite and to refresh ourselves after a wine tasting jaunt through a few wineries. We were staying at the winery next door and were not impressed with the food or service at their lounge. We had the Lump Crab Gruyère with crostini and the Fried Calamari/Shrimp. Both were really good. The Lump crab was really good. Served hot with the crostini which was awesome as well. Perfectly toasted and seasoned and a great way to deliver that crabby, cheesy goodness to your palette. The calamari and shrimp platter was big, they were fried to a perfect golden brown. Good flavor on the breading and the sauce(Aioli?) accompanying it was really good too, and it disappeared quickly. The service was okay. Nothing bad, nothing good — just okay. But the food and ambiance were great and we will be back.

There’s a NEW South Coast in town… and we «ain’t talkin’ Costa Mesa’s — South Coast Plaza either!» Okay …so, perhaps South Coast Winery, occupying the southeast corner of the Rancho California«traffic circle» in Temecula’s wine country isn’t all that new, yet rivaling its Orange County namesake, take my word for it: It’s just as LUXURIOUS. This plush let alone upscale hotel and resort sits a mere 10 – 15 minutes out from the town’s «center». Bestowing a wellness center, a number of high end suites and a nothing shy of «serene» setting… guest(s) to this Heaven-esque spa are pampered like royalty. Suites highlights include: fireplaces, opulent let alone lavish bedding, mini-fridges… and I simply can’t skimp on the private patios with their very own sitting areas; talk about a «home away from home». The entire resort as well as its copious conveyance of amenities(5 star restaurant [separate review], day spa, winery, etc.) scream,… «pamper me» from the, —«A Walk In The Clouds» movie nostalgia down to the overall emanation of an unruffled«Tuscan vibe». I had the pleasure of visiting just this past weekend and while I’ve been several times before, each experience is second to none. Hospitality is at its finest and the winemakers have certifiably perfected their crafts(no pun on the ‘craft’ beer reference). Just when you think you’ve seen it all, guests are afforded the additional luxury of free wine tours and WINETASTINGSONTHEHOUSE!!! Heavens to murgatroyd, yes!!! From my perspective, «there’s nothing better than igniting a „buzz“ and…(thinks to self…) GOINGBACKTUH’ BEDAFTERWARDS!!!» With the sweeping mountain views and pristinely manicured landscaping, it’s impossible not to fall in love at first sight and it dawns on me with every visit, that this place is truly Temecula’s hidden diamond; fortunately… I possess GPS and a knack for girdling. If and when in the area fellow Unilocal brethren, I implore you to deviate a bit and experience«luxury — uncorked». * While I’d rather receive a bottle of Sangiovese,… feel free to thank me just the same.

I’m surprised I haven’t wrote a review for my favorite winery in Temecula. This used to be my spot back in the day. I just wish I had more time to head out there these days. I’ve been to a few wineries but South Coast is the biggest with their resort, restaurant and tasting room. I love coming here and having a glass of wine under the trees behind the restaurant. I think the best time to come here is definitely during the week to avoid the huge crowds. Don’t even think about coming here on a Saturday because you will be disappointed. I’ve been to the tasting room and the restaurant but I liked the restaurant better and it’s pretty big. I really don’t have anything bad to say about South Coast.

South Coast Winery is the perfect destination for a weekend getaway if you live in the LA or SD area. My DH and I went for a couple nights for Valentine’s Day weekend and it was everything we had hoped: beautiful landscapes, California sunshine, romantic walks, great service and a poppin’ tasting room. We stayed in a private villa, walking distance to the pool, restaurant and tasting room. The accommodations were nice. We loved the high ceilings and the fireplace. The bathroom was clean and spacious as well. We particularly liked the complimentary bottle of Zinfandel, which was nicely displayed with two wine glasses and a wine opener. Our stay was accompanied by discounts at the spas and complimentary tastings. I dare say I was not sober for over 48 hours straight. The pool is spacious and tranquil, and I like that they have a bar and table service. Most people order by the bottle and keep it on ice at the table. There are few things more relaxing than sipping champagne poolside under the SoCal sun. The best thing about staying at South Coast is having a tasting room on premise. They have an abundant selection of wines, though their specialty seems to be Rose and sweet bubblies. They do have a decent selection of other whites and reds, which are palatable. The Wild Horse Syrah is great for those who like more bold reds, a category that is a bit scarce at this winery. It’s about $ 20 for five tastings, and if you get lucky, sometimes the servers«forget» to take your ticket. Seating is plentiful outside and the scenery is beautiful. They also have an on-site restaurant. The food is very mediocre, but actually delicious after an afternoon of wine-tasting. I’d recommend making reservations through their website and getting the AAA discount!

Great weekend getaway! My brother-in-law bought us a gift certificate good for anything at the winery: rooms, dining, wine tasting, spa, and the gift shop! We stayed one night and that was plenty. We drove up early the first day and were greeted with a friendly staff member and a free bottle of wine for booking a room at the resort! That’s when we realized the freebies didn’t stop there! We also got a free wine tasting($ 20 value) that included 4 wines of our choice. Then we went for lunch and bought the sampler platter with a flight of 4 more wines to sample. This was my favorite part: the waiter helped me select 4 perfect wines for me to taste by asking me questions about what I do /do not like when it comes to wine. It was a lot of fun! We decided to take a break from the wine so we went to our suite and rested a bit. Then it was time for dinner! Their dining hall was beautiful and spacious. Our waiter Sean was the best service I ever received from a restaurant. He described all the menu items with incredible detail and enthusiasm, you could tell he truly loved his job. The food was delish, but that was no surprise ;) We ended with breakfast at the main restaurant and enjoyed some omelettes and a complimentary banana pancake(so good!!). Before leaving we bought a case of wine(12 bottles, 15% discount for staying at the resort!) that we were able to customize one by one and choose our favorite wines. Super fun experience! What a great gift this was!

Over 1115 reviews and still going strong My review is on the TASTINGROOM and WINERY only A resort, hotel, spa with tennis courts in the middle of a vineyard and winery. Who could ask for more? For those who are familiar with the Temucula area, you will know this place is a relatively new community(20 years and growing). Rancho California Road has become home to many vineyards and wineries over the years. South Coast Winery Resort and Spa is one of the many. A hotel and spa with a winery and tasting room is what I consider a ONE stop Vacay in the Temucula area. They have a broad selection of wines and champagnes; available for tasting by script. You pay $ 20 for the wine tasting and it gives you 5 tastings. Groupons are available at certain times throughout the year
