Best hotel in tell city. Breakfast is great. Sometimes they have cookies when you return from work. They have passes for a full scale gym down the street which is very important to me. Room was clean. Staff is friendly and accommodating.

This might shock a few feathers giving the fact that all of these reviews under me had a bad experience. True ! A lot of girls do work in front desk and it didn’t bother me they were all sweet and kind, we didn’t have a bad experience at all! It was quite when we went and I think it’s because all the kids had gone back to school and of course there were kids but not a lot. Our rooms were clean and we had decent breakfast and the month of August u get free pancakes from 8pm till midnight !! I didn’t eat any pancakes — but it still a perk for anyone with late night munchies. They do not have a McDonald’s they were building one when we visited. Not a lot of restaurants to choose from and they do have a Walmart in Tell City, LOL !!! My husband said he went to the pool and he saw a little girl vomit inside the pool sooooo I hope they cleaned it but I’m not too sure. we didn’t get in the pool at all(ugh) I saw small kids get in the pool the next day so, IDK. Overall, we had a great time at this hotel oh and when we arrived we saw a skunk, yes, a real black and white skunk just walking in front of our car, I never seen one in real life!!!

I think the other reviewers don’t travel much. I’m a total germaphobe and have actually taken a bath here.(Additionally the tv’s are pretty big flat screens, one review said they were CRT). For those of you who actually travel, here are some winning points: the HVAC unit isn’t humid, you won’t need your own power strip, the water isn’t overtreated with bromine/chlorine, the pillows aren’t square, the sheets aren’t itchy, and the suitcase-sized refrigerators can actually keep frozen meals. The Tell City Holiday Inn has the comfiest pillows, mattresses, and softest sheets. I travel enough to make it to IHG platinum by April each year… And am always pleasantly suprised with Tell City. I’m writing this review because their laundry machine was squeay, located a wall behind my room. The hotel staff was exceptionally polite to accommodate my room change. I used the same washer for my laundry a month ago and it was silent. I genuinely believe the hotel staff here cares about their tenants and image. I also think some of the other reviews might be fake. Nobody is healthy enough to run around here.

This was the hotel we picked after Unilocaling hotels close to Holiday World. I figured it would do for the night so I just called and made reservations. It ended up being 18 miles from the park in the opposite direction we needed to be, but we stayed anyway. Fire alarm started sounding in the middle of the night and woke up the entire hotel. It wasn’t corrected until an hour later!!! Thank goodness it was only a false alarm. The continental breakfast was good and the pool was also nice as well!

This is by far the WORST Holiday Inn I have ever stayed! First night of check in, we were told had separate rooms, which were supposed to be adjoining. Staff was rude when we asked about this and we were told they were unsure if they could accommodate us. The following night someone had left their dog in the room next to us, and went to a wedding. Needless to say the dog barked for several hours until the owner returned. Apparently there are no managers on staff Saturday nights or Sunday mornings, after we asked for a refund for the previous night. This place didn’t have any customer service whatsoever. We paid about $ 115.00 a night to listen to loud dog barking! Not to mention the free breakfast was always out of something every morning. Don’t waste your time to stay here!

Eh… I stayed here while on a trip for business. The hotel wasn’t too horrible at first glance. My room was presentable and the bedsheets and towels seemed clean. The free breakfast in the morning was awesome, and it was great that it started early(around 6am) because I was headed to a construction site everyday and had to be there by 7am. They have yogurt, eggs, biscuits, either bacon, sausage or sausage gravy, bagels, toast, juice, and coffee. I rarely left my towels on the floor to be replaced(in line with the«save water, be green» philosophy of most hotels) but it seemed like my cleaning lady changed them anyway. Not green! Also, there have been a few times where they collected random garbage in a plastic cup and forgot to throw it away. Also, a few dirt clumps fell off of my work boots and the cleaning person never vacuumed them up. The rooms are equipped with a tiny television(the old chunky kind, not flatscreen) and wifi(great). The password for the wifi is actually in the desk drawer. The kid at the front desk never informed me of the free wifi, actually. I noticed the little brochure boasting the free wifi and then called down to the front desk to find out what the password was. One huge complaint I have is that the stairwell right by my room was closed for maintenance, which was just annoying. Also, there were a bunch of kids staying in the hotel that would run around like idiots making too much noise. That’s not the hotel’s fault, but it didn’t make my stay any more pleasant. The«health club» should not be called that because it’s basically a tiny room with 3 machines. One wall is occupied by a mirror to give the illusion of a big room, but it’s not. Only nice thing is the television on the wall(again, not a flat screen). The pool is also relatively pathetic. It’s fine for kids, I suppose, but you’re not going to get a workout here. Neither bothered me too much since I didn’t have much time to utilize either, but still, it’s pretty misleading. One of my coworkers(who had been staying here for weeks before I showed up) complained day in and day out about the fact that they were flying a completely tattered American flag(so disrespectful!). It literally took weeks of nagging before they changed it. Last thing: I got a bunch of spider bites while staying here so be careful! Overall, an okay stay, but too many little things are bringing this review down in star value.

Not a great experience, but there are not many choices in this town. Noisy neighbors, thin walls, and you can hear every step from the guest upstairs. The floor cove wall boards were recently removed and there was a lot of stucco texture on the carpeting. The carpet felt sticky and dirty and the white overspray on the dark green carpet was strange. The big question to ponder is why would they rent out an unfinished room and at full rate? Lame low-flow toilets that don’t flush well, and the remodeling work in the bathroom was incomplete. Unfinished wood for the bathroom vanity was missing it’s granite facing and there was no toilet roll or tissue holders. The shower head did not work properly and really cheap toiletries –the shampoo looked previously opened or was leaking and the soap was not good quality. The towels were new, but felt unwashed and left a strange feeling on your skin after use. Some glimmers of hope: Personnel were friendly, a decent hot breakfast, and the remodeling should provide a nice face-lift for the property once complete.
