I was truly amazed on the hospitable environment and the fact that our beloved best friends are welcomed inside. Bob and his wife are amazing. Thank you for talking to my husband and I. Defiantly recommend this winery all wine lovers. We will defiantly return soon.

Wine, location, and service were fantastic. They offer their own wines as well as some from other wineries. We purchased a bottle of the champagne. It was delicious on its own, but rated like a Bellini when paired with their golden peach wine. We had about 10 tastings for $ 9

Two stars is really almost a push. They produce 1 wine-a Primitivo(zinfandel folks), and they have years ’09 to ’12 to taste. They are mostly thin, and not of the usual deeper Zin characteristics. They have a large amount of other wines to try, but these are all from San Antonio Wineries and are NOT high quality-a«table wine» grade at best that should sell for no more than $ 7 – 8 a bottle. Saw the tasting fees were $ 5 some time back but have bumped to $ 9…cheaper than most tasting rooms, but honestly, not with the $. Save your money.

Ugh… I hate to do this… ‘Meh. I’ve experienced better.’ is the way to put it. The valley is beautiful, the location small and sweet, the people are extremely nice and helpful… but the wine… I’ve just had so much better. We visited only this winery in the local area to try out their wines… they offered us a few different years of the one wine they make and then a selection of other wines from other companies they are partnered with. Needless to say, the other wines were mediocre at best, and their wines… I honestly thought they were really bad. The first of the 3 years we tried was bad, the 2nd was ok, and the most recent was honestly at least drinkable. If this is a sign of them improving their quality, I want them to keep going and to perfect that wine as they’re going in the right direction. The little winery setup I feel is a bit premature and I feel that offering other wines from other places dilutes their purpose of creating a winery region in the area. I’d like to see a more rustic setting for the operation creating a closer relationship to the wineries’ wine and not other partner wines… Service was night and day… we were first served by a younger woman, who honestly knew nothing of the wines she was offering us which set the tone for our visit… which was bad. We eventually cornered Bob and had a good conversation with him and that is what the 2 stars are for. He is a great friendly guy and is a pleasure to speak with. He has passion, loves to talk about wine, seemingly knows his stuff and loves to talk with you about all aspects of his operation. I wish good luck to him and his wife, and I think they’ll do well, but their first few wines are pretty bleh to me, I’ve had better wines and experiences(minus Bob + his wife) elsewhere.

I’ve been tasting in Napa, Santa Ynez/Santa Barbara, and Temecula(which is by far the worst of the three) and this place is awesome. Had no idea the wine here would be soo good. Their own wines are fantastic and even the other wines they serve are really tasty. The atmosphere is really mellow. Not like your pretentious wineries up north. Bob the owner is such a great guy and we had a blast just chatting with him for an over an hour. Great award-winning local winery. I will definitely come back and if you’ve never been here before it’s a must-see in Tehachapi.

I would give this place 5 stars because their wine is really great. So many different varietals and I was surprised how good the wine from this valley is but they charged for the tasting fee even if you purchase bottles of wine. I was disappointed, valleys like paso Robles, Livermore and Lodi do not. Might make me rethink a visit.

What a great place and full of energy! Bob is amazing with his passion and excitement about wine making. It is a small tasting room but with Bob you will never notice. This place probably has the best primitivo that I have ever tried! Bob was kind enough for me to try the different years and it was awesome to see what a year can do. They have several awards for the primitivo and it is well deserved. I’m sad that I’m already out of primitivo but will be back yearly to get my fixed. Salute

The Souza Family Vineyard is the best in Tehacapi! The staff and wines are great. Additionally, they are very dog-friendly which makes it fun for our entire family. The tastings are a great way to spend an afternoon.

You would not think you could find a gem like this in the town of Tehachapi, excellent wine, excellent staff, get a bottle and a platter and enjoy the picturesque backgrounds as the sun goes down.

We visited again recently and had the best afternoon. The staff is friendly and makes you feel at home. They were so wonderful with my dog, brought him treats and had a clean water fountain bowl for him to drink out of. We ordered the Sausage, Cheese and Fruit tray and the homemade bred and dipping sauce were absolutely delicious. The platter was enough food that we didn’t end up eating lunch. The surroundings and views are peaceful and a perfect way to spend a Saturday afternoon!

Because they grow and bottle one wine, they serve other wines — mostly from San Antonio and Maddalena. All of the wine was lacking. Thankfully, they were very friendly, otherwise the $ 5 tasting would have been a total bust. Getting there was not easy. The final mile of the drive was a dirt road that was rutted with tractor tracks.

What a wonderful discovery found literally off the beaten path. Bob will charm the ladies and impress the gents all the while Patty keeps a watchful eye on their business. You will quickly feel as though you’ve arrived at regular status. We left with a case of their wine and the hope of many more great bottles to come.
