Great night out with our east coast collage kids. Ordered 5 of the appetizers the best 2 being the lamb ribs and the flatbread. Mains were great, lamb, short ribs, steaks. I had the water bath prepared steak. It was delicious. Would go again. Food was excellent. Service was good not great. Had to ask for the desert menu 4 times, one of us ordered s soup for a main and it was not brought out at the right time. Minor issues, however that’d the difference between good and great.

Yes! Nobo gets it. From service to food, everything is great. The past couple times we went, I left wishing for more flavor. We decided to give the place another try and I’m so glad we did. The fact that they have a liquor license also helps. Anyhow, we decided to get a few plates to share and one main. We also asked the waitress for her recommendations. We got the arugula and mushroom salad, the short rib bokembap, the crisp salumi flatbread and the short rib main dish. Everything was great, but the star of the show was the crisp salumi flatbread. Amazing flavor for the cured meats and the cauliflower purée. Loved the perfect egg mixed with the spicy rice of the bokembap. Just wished that there was more heat on the bokembap. Seemed to be missing the kimchi, but was told that’s how it’s prepared now. My husband loved the short rib main dish. Perfectly cooked. Also, the service was amazing. Super attentive and helpful. Knowledgeable about the food, etc.

Waiters are very professional, tables are always clean, chef Josh is a pleasant man as well– walks around every hour to ask guests how their meal is. Represents a professional business as opposed to these half-ass kosher restaurants in Brooklyn(Take some notes!!!) Their variety of food is consumer friendly and I’ll certainly say that their steaks are cooked to perfection. Love this place & will be a permanent customer.

No no! No words, I was really excited about this place, even came back because the first time the place was full. Food was slightly expensive, not very good. The fresh bread was the best part of the meal. I dont eat mushrooms or veal so I was limited to only two plates on the entire menu. I ordered a salad which consisted of 4 leaves and cost $ 14, no exaggeration. My bf ordered a burger and the meat was not the best, fries slightly okay. Service is good, they are friendly. I cant understand what the rave reviews are about(maybe this is the only Kosher restaurant in the area?), we will not be going back. Looked across the room and the meats on other peoples plate did not look or smell good, definitlely not $ 70 worth. We will go to Ruth Chris’ Steakhouse instead. Worst dinner we’ve had in NJ.

As someone who does not keep kosher, and who has spent some time exploring the great food in the area, I can say without a doubt that Nobo is the best kosher restaurant for fine dining I have ever come across. I was at April Bloomfields«The Spotted Pig» in the last month, and Chef Joshua Massin’s cooking can be spoken of in the same breath. The food is unparalleled, the service friendly, not overly formal, and knowledgable. There is nothing available in the kosher world that comes close to the charcuterie being done at Nobo. The quality of the ingredients is exceptional. The proteins are honored on every plate. The presentation is attractive. The cooking innovative, delicious, and contemporary. Were I to get the a check at a non kosher restaurant of similar quality, with the same price as one gets at Nobo, I would say it was a good deal.

The food was fantastic. But the service was awful. The staff is extremely unprofessional. Talking loudly about their relationship drama, smoking pot, and cursing. The waiters were also frequently hugging and touching each other inappropriately. Instead of tending to their tables, they were on their phones. The final straw, was a waiter smoking an electronic cigarette and letting the smoke blow in my face, all while he should have been working. I did not want to witness any of this during my meal and will not be returning because of it.

Great food, good service, give it a try. It’s not like we go out all the time, but on various occaisons, we’ve tried most of the higher-end Manhattan kosher restaurants. But we always come back to Nobo. Let’s put it this way. My father claims that kosher food NEVER tastes good, and even he enjoyed our meal. We started with shared appetizers — lamb riblets, which everyone said were amazing(I don’t eat lamb, so I’m relying on them), and risotto, which was very good. Then everyone had steaks of one kind or another. I wanted mine medium rare, and it was done to perfection. My husband likes his almost burned. While we could almost hear the chef’s groan, it was perfect — well, perfect for him! Not much in they way of atmosphere, but at least its not as loud as a lot of other places, so you can have a reasonable conversation.

This is a highly touted Kosher restaurant and if you are Kosher you might think that. I am not Kosher but was having dinner with observant friends so my review is in the larger context of all kinds of restaurants. Nobo is a very attractive setting for patently mediocre and disgracefully overpriced food. The service was only OK too. I made the reservation days in advance, but when we got there, the first place they wanted to put us was next to the kitchen door. I protested and we were given a better table. The menu is a complex compendium of pretentious culinary terms. The most frequently used was«sous vide,» which is essentially poaching and is designed to tenderize the food. This term was applied to everything from veggies to fish to steak. As an appetizer we ordered lamb riblets, which were dry and tough. There wasn’t much meat on those little bones. We had a dry aged rib eye steak($ 70 for 16 ounces which we split between 2 people). Besides being less than appropriately flavorful, it was laced with gristle. Certainly not worth the price. My wife had veal prepared«sous vide,» which, in this case meant soft and bland. The veggie side dishes were fine. This experience reinforces the key reason I’m glad I’m not Kosher. A friend of mine who was raised kosher and left the fold once said that the word Kosher should mean overcooked and under seasoned. It’s good to know that I don’t have to dine in the Kosher cultural bubble, and I feel sorry for those who choose to do so.

The only reason I’m giving it four stars is because of the fact that the seating can become quite cramped when full. I would suggest you getting a seat in the back. Otherwise the food was deliciousness the service was A1 I would definitely come here again!

I’m a huge fan of this place I went there last week with My father and aunt who had come from Israel for a visit. I ordered risotto and two-way duck. When I took the first bite it was like I was transported in the middle of the eye of a hurricane. It was so good that my tongue would not stop licking the plate when I was done. I would Give This Place 10 stars out of five if I could. The waiters were so attentive and they made sure that my glass was never empty. To the people of Nobo job well done and I will see you again real soon.

(Please note: This review should be read in a vaguely British accent.) Sorry boys and girls, not much humor will be going on in this post, as the usually positive reviewer is about to go hardcore Jebidiah Atkinson on this post, because I am NOTIMPRESSED! *adjusts Revolutionary War wig anachronistic for a character from the Civil War times* THRILLEDTOBEHERE! Well, I’ve been to many top restaurants in the NY/NJ area, and I think you will find my reviews to be considered and completely balanced. This dinner at Nobo was the WORSTFANCYDINNER I HAVEEVEREATEN! Nobo?! No good! Would rather have spent my $ 3 dollars at a pizza shop!(I DONOTADJUSTFORINFLATION!) On the eve of last night, my betrothed and I decided to frequent this establishment to celebrate our signing and witnessething of the lease of our first apartment together. We had heard fantastic things about Nobo, and we left behind our known positive of ETC across the street for this new«fantastic» experience. Well, the only fantastic part was when it ended! The service was slow the entire time and the restaurant was rather noisy, with tables basically on top of each other. We kept having to loudly repeat everything we were saying, and that in of itself is rather unbecoming for a «fancy» restaurant. First we ordered the Hanger Steak(Because all the other steaks were rather expensive for a place of this caliber; if Reserve Cut wants to charge $ 100 for a steak, that is fine, but this is not within the same genre.) and the short ribs. When we tried to order the steak though, the waiter basically told us that it had been horribly salty the past few days and we shouldn’t order it. Well if it’s bad, fix it or take it off the menu. I don’t need to know that it’s coming out worse than General Lee’s alcohol rehab. It’s not like they offered another dish at a lower price due to the issue as a courtesy or anything. NEXT! Instead of what we actually wanted, we ended up ordering the pan chicken breast, which came on a bed of spinach and pilaf, and a side of onion rings(One of the few bright spots of the meal). Well, what do you know? After waiting over a half hour for the food, they brought out the completely wrong chicken dish. Once again, the waiter was super nice and apologetic, but words are just words without action or service. NEXT! Once we finally got our food, the actual short ribs and chicken were very good(Which is why this gets 2 stars. Ah!), but the side dishes left much to be desired. The spinach in the pilaf was very bitter, and the pilaf itself was quite bland. The short ribs came with beans and grilled parsnip, and the parsnip was so overdone and hard that it was literally inedible. Neither of us could bite into half of them! NEXT! We then decided to get dessert, because we figured the good reputation had to come from somewhere, and while what we got(Chocolate Fudge Brownie with Peanut Butter Ice Cream and Peanut Brittle) was very good, it still seemed rather unprofessional that there were 2 or 3 desserts the waiter told us not to order because they were not good. Honesty is good. Crappy food isn’t. NEXT! Anyway, if you are looking for a good dinner, go buy baby food at Shop Rite. At least you don’t have to worry about being able to chew the vegetables in that! Ugh. NEXT!

I would rate this restaurant highly on food, upscale atmosphere and attentive service, whether it was kosher or not. I am not kosher, but met with friends who are and we enjoyed the meal as much as almost any good restaurant we’ve been to. Yes, it is pricey and noisy, but not much more than many restaurants of its type. We tried the«special» artichoke soup and loved it. The beef is terrific and the hamburger – simple and inexpensive – was delicious as was the Scottish salmon. The grilled pineapple dessert with basil and pepper was novel and a great idea. We can easily recommend this restaurant. One question I have is, why is it identified here as grill and«strip club»? That is misleading! A strip club is it NOT! Not does the name appear that way on their business card!

I was here for lunch about 2 years ago and loved it but was too distracted to write. Tonight I went for a family celebration and this is one of the best meals I ever had. I decided to start with an apple martini which was very good. For appetizers I had the spaetzel with beef and onions which was great and my husband had the sweet breads. I’m not an expert on sweet breads as it was never my thing but they were very good. My husband who really loves them said they were the best sweet breads he has ever had. For a main course we shared one of the specials which was château briand for 2 sousvide. It was pricey but absolutely great. Cooked to perfection, medium rare. The potatos(Yukon gold of course) were great as were the green beans. My husband was a little disappointed that there was gristle in the meat and all the food was very old school and heavy. I thought this was part of the experience and to be expected. The atmosphere was really nice and it was not really loud like a lot of other kosher restaurants even though there were a lot of people there. I think people respected that this was a nice place and not a place to be a peasant. the waiter was very attentive and explained the dishes well. Any questions we had he knew the answers to and was very confidant in his responses. Would I return? Absolutely. This place is really as good as it gets.

Yes, Nobo is pricey for a suburban Kosher place. But it truly does rival the better known Kosher steakhouse Prime Grill in Manhattan in terms of quality and service, and exceeds the Manhattan Kosher steakhouses in terms of portion size. My wife and I were on a limited budget and we both had the $ 21 hamburger. This was, bar none, the best burger I’ve ever eaten. It’s massive, thick, and still juicy somehow all the way through – tough to do with kosher beef, which tends to dry out. A touch(not overdone) of carmelized onions and greens top the burger, and the herbed fries are a light, perfect complement to the heavier burger. To top it off, the chef Joshua Massin makes rounds to ask patrons about their meals – nice touch! Will def eat here again

Absolutely great. Chef Josh Massin really brings a touch of class, sophistication, and gastronomy to this establishment. His attention to detail and flavores make this place truly special and unique. Must try the king cut, battered onion rings and sweet potato crème brûlée. If Nobo can keep delivering this quality, they will continue to be successful for a long time to come.

We went to NoBo last night. Not sure why it says«The Pasta Factory» here because the place is called«NoBo: Grill & Wine» and I don’t recall any pasta on the menu unless you count gnocchi… Anyways, NoBo was great. First, the ambiance is great. When you’re driving up you first realize this is not your typical kosher restaurant — even the outside looks more ‘normal’ and quite frankly, nice. The inside is also very nice and doesn’t scream kosher restaurant… so this is definitely a place to bring your non-kosher friends because they wont feel uncomfortable — this is something EVERY kosher restaurant should try to achieve, but unfortunately most do not get anywhere close, which is really quite sad for us kosher patrons. So, we started the meal with a carafe of Sangria, plus the«disco fries,» the sweetbreads, and the gnocchi for appetizers. Disco fries were good — the fake«cheese» tasted pretty close to real. Gnocchi was good but nothing to write home about for me, probably wouldn’t order it again. The sweetbreads were incredible. Everyone at the table loved them and I would definitely order that dish over and over again. Everyone ordered different things for their main courses and everyone seemed very happy. My husband absolutely loved his steak. One person did find their burger to be a little under-cooked for his taste, but that was the only complaint i heard… and it wasn’t bad enough to send it back for some more cooking. So, I obviously liked the place — why didn’t I give it 5 stars? Pretty much one reason — service. I don’t want this to speak of all the service there — because i saw several members of the waitstaff were very attentive… unfortunately that was not the case for us. He didn’t even try to get our entrée orders until after we were basically done with the appetizers… so then we had to wait longer — and we ended up being there for about 3 hours in total which I might have preferred not to have been there so long(thankfully I had some good company, or I may have been getting antsy). Honestly, when my food arrived(even before that really — when we were ordering the entrees) my appetizers were pretty settled so I wasn’t really hungry anymore. I almost thought about not even ordering an entrée because I was so stuffed — which I wouldn’t have felt that way if he had come taken our order sooner. He also wasn’t very attentive with drinks. Lastly, he knew it was my husband’s birthday but didn’t bring out any dessert with a candle so he could make a wish… which, considering how much money we were spending there, he should have most definitely done. Would I go back? Most definitely. Let’s just hope for a different waiter…

Most people’s biggest gripe about kosher restaurants is that they’re kitschy and even the fancy restaurants have that old-school«we serve gefilte fish» and have horrible service kind of charm. NoBo, aka The Pasta Factory, is not that kind of kosher restaurant. In fact, it’s probably the most upscale, yet laid back, kosher restaurant I’ve ever been to. With a sprawling menu of fish and pasta and salad and beef, not to mention an abundance of delicious-looking side dishes, there’s something here for everyone(even the gluten-free foodie like me). I’m writing this review based on one visit, and I’m sort of hesitant to say anything, because I do intend on going back. I ordered the Pecan Crusted Salmon Filet(with) shaved fennel, artichokes & apples w/a honey mustard sauce, which arrived in front of me with the most professional and classy presentation, reserved for the likes of Food & Wine magazine cover pages and centerfold spreads. I didn’t want to disturb the beauty right off the bat, so I forked up some of the Honey Mustard Sauce on the plate, which, by the way, was amazing. Second, I took a bite of the fish, which was actually really disappointing. The thing about the fish is that the crust looked excellent and it was a really great cooking job … but the fish lacked flavor. Salmon + Pecans isn’t enough, it needs some spice or something. It was also a HUGE piece of fish, which was great, but, unfortunately, not in the end because it was flavorless. The Shaved Fennel, Artichokes, and Apples were delicious, with a light crunch and plenty of sauce. Although I am not a fan of fennel, I truly enjoyed this bedding under the fish. The meal, overall, was substantial. I didn’t get to take part in the bread basket, and we opted out of ordering wine(a selection of which is *huge*). The waiter said that NONE of the desserts were gluten-free, so we passed on that as well. I think the waiter was probably wrong, however, because they did have a sorbet on the menu and last time I checked sorbet didn’t usually come with gluten. And the crème brûlée? Since when did crème brûlée have gluten? Sigh. I really wanted a dessert — they looked so delicious. The ambiance of this restaurant is classy, busy, and makes you feel like you’re in a New York hotspot, not a kitschy Jewish diner. The wait staff was friendly, although, unfortunately, the tradition of bad service continues — our waiter was distant, unattentive, and ultimately we had to find someone else to give our payment to because he was no where to be found. Someday, Jewish restauranteurs will figure out the balance of food, ambiance, and service, and NoBo comes probably as close as I’ve seen.
