The food was excellent! The wait time was not. We walked on to get a take out order and it took over 30 minutes before we left. Many came in and out as we were waiting. There was no communication as to how long it would take for us. Very authentic and delicious but had i known the wait i would have ordered and came back. Our order was sloghtly different than what we placed too… I think. First time there and last time for awhile. Unless im not in a hurry. :)

The Food here is Amazing! Place needs a little upgrades, they use plastic forks and knifes. Other than that food is great and service is good. Make sure to try the pastries.

I’ve been coming here every four months for 5 years. Even though I have been somewhat a regular I have now completely severed my ties with this eating place. Yes, the food is actually decent and authentic enough. However, hygiene is an issue… When I say an issue, I mean, the place is FILTHY! The floors, walls, and restroom are nasty and if you get to glimpse behind the counter you will see nastiness that will make the hairs on your neck stand up. I am not coming back ever again.

The food was lacking in taste. The pupusas were ok, but for me, below average in taste. The main course was also lacking in taste and I couldn’t eat one of my plantains because it was too hard. We were a party of three on a very slow day and one of the orders was wrong. I ordered and hot chocolate but I couldn’t drink it and had to return it. It was the most disgusting hot chocolate I’ve ever tried, too watery, no chocolate, and the mug was dirty. This might be the best Central American place in Utah because there aren’t many options. But once you try how Central American food is supposed to taste and you’ll notice the big difference. Would not come back, would not recommend. I give them 1 star because I didn’t get a stomach ache, but I couldn’t finish anything I ordered.

Wow! Amazing food. Unbelievable prices. The Pupusas were fantastic. We tried, cheese and bean, shrimp, steak and pork rind — chicharron was the best!!! Tamale was fabulous. It was all great. Loved it.

Good food. Just super slow. If you order to go and are told 15 minutes it really means 40!

This place was so hard to find, the GPS had us on the other side of Bangerter. Ended up following my sister in law and being extra late. Place was packed and that didn’t stop the awesome waitress from keeping up with everything. Food took quite a while to come out as was expected since it was so busy. Once the items started making their way to our large table, we were in love with the presentation of the food. They make everything fresh to order, you can see when walking into the restaurant a small window into the kitchen with the cooks working away. My little brother suggested this and he did good by me. This was a real hit.

We came here for Thanksgiving dinner and had a very pleasant, relaxed meal. We ordered the combo plate, the bistek encebollado, and the huevos divorciados. We came hungry but quickly realized that this much food for just two people was too much! The food was good quality authentic Salvadorean with simple flavors, maybe too simple. The pork and cheese pupusa on the combo dish was great with hot melted cheese and tender pork. The simple flavors weren’t quite 5 stars for me but it was a great experience and I will definitely go back.

I love Rincon! I could eat there everyday. Their pupusas are just perfect! They even have pupusas with rice flour. I also enjoy their horchata de coco, a side of rice, and the quesadilla(in the pastry case). The atmosphere is fun and inviting. Everyone who works there is so nice. To anyone who wants to try food from El Salvador, this is the place!

Super difficult to find that is my only complain, I had to call the owner and have him direct me to the place since the GPS would not take us to the write location. Other than that, the pupusas seemed legit and the combination plate was bomb. I would recommend this place as their food is great and the owner is really nice. The place and the decoration truly takes on a trip to somewhere in Salvador.

This place is really hard to find but is well worth the stop! I ordered 3 papusas: one mixed, one shrimp, and one carne asada. I have to say that the mixed was by far my favorite. Great flavor and just satisfying! They serve the papusas with salsas and curtido! I honestly could barely eat two and they were very very filling. I also had the horchata de coco which had a great flavor and was very refreshing.

Really good Pupusa’s! Great Value too. I particularly like the Beans and Cheese but they have larger ones as well that contain carne asada, chicken, pork etc. They don’t speak great English but enough that you should be able to get through your order, and as a plus they have a huge front shelf full of delish pastries and cookies.

This is by far the best Salvadorean spot in SLC. Place is clean and food is prepared properly. Great for a post-workout meal since golds gym is 2 blocks away.

The service was spotty. Be sure to order a large drink because it won’t be getting refilled any time soon. Now… the good things. The three stuffed pupusas were tasty and filling. I should have stopped there. Our group tried the divorced eggs, the pollo encebollado, the combo plate, and the carne asada sandwich. Aside form the chicken being dry, things were pretty good… though I am not sure why the eggs got divorced. I think they would have been a happier couple if they would have both been covered with the salsa verde. Perhaps it is my Teutonic soul, but the marinated cabbage that comes with meals was dynamite. We got a quart container of it and I killed it. I will drive back there just for the cabbage! «Sabado gigante’ was on the TV. Gotta love that. I was too full to interest myself in the pastries on the way out. Next time for sure.

if you like Salvadorean food you’ll like the great food and atmosphere too. MY favorite are the platanos fritos and pupusas any way you want them they come out all nice and warm… food is great, service is nice and super friendly just don’t come starving because they can be lil slow, so if you don’t mind the wait this place is perfect!

Hubby and I went here last night for the first time. We will be back! It’s charming, run by family, and the food is soooooooooo good! I had the mango with water in a super tall glass. Yummy!!! I ordered the $ 8 combo plate with a Pupusa, Tamale, empanada, fried plantain, and a dessert filled with milk and banana. wOW!!! I woke up wanting the empanadas for breakfast! Lol it takes a bit because everything is made from scratch and served fresh. Hubby chose two pupusas, one being a ‘gourmet’ filled with steak carne asana. He said his were pretty good. Very friendly, and delicious!!!

First time for us eating Salvadorean food. I had the combo plate for $ 8 and my husband had the carne asada plate for $ 10.25. Combo came with a tamale, empanada, pupusa, fried yucca stuffed with what I think was creamy banana, and a couple pieces of plantain which I didn’t really care for. Carne asada was really tender, but husband didn’t care for the tortilla. They also put somewhat of a coleslaw on the table. Overall, it was pretty good food, very reasonable and very friendly service. Can’t wait to try more!

Still love this place and we go with family for pupusas, but I’ve ventured off into other parts of the menu the last few times and I am glad I did! The section of the menu entitled«Panes» must not be missed. If you’re wondering what that is, don’t be afraid. It’s just sandwiches. I’ve tasted them all now and my favorite, hands down, is the carne asada. The meat is tender and rather than veggies this sandwich is topped with a rice and beans mixture and crema. So tasty and slightly reminiscent of Peruvian tacu-tacu. Highly recommend this place. For Salvadoran food, it’s legit.

Totally fulfilled my pupusa craving. I ordered 3 for dinner but was totally filled up after 2, so it was an «encore presentation» the next day. The pupusas were well stuffed with meat, beans and cheese. Great flavor, well prepared and served fast makes me crave it again. This is a place that you will not want to pass up! My order was to go, so I cannot comment much more on the place other than they have a display case with tons of baked breads to choose from. All looked tempting, but my trip was for pupusas and pupusas is what I got!

This is an awesome local Salvadorean Restaurant. It’s definitely hidden next to an apartment complex so you’ll need to keep an eye out for it. I’ve been here a few times and what I enjoy the most is that it is a traditional salvadorean restaurant. Not only do they offer salvadorean meals such as pupusas but they also offer a variety of bake goods. On my most recent visit I had a pupusa revuelta, which is a mixture of pork, cheese, and beans, and a pupusa de loroco y queso. Both of these were fresh, full of topping, and very delicious. The service is also good, usually it’s the owner’s son working as a server. The appearance of the restaurant is cozy, nothing fancy but clean with several booths. In general I really enjoy having dinner here and would definitely be back . The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because they have weird hours and it’s a little difficult to find.

Wow! I don’t think I had had Salvadoran food before today. I had the Combo plate($ 8.00). It was plenty of food(ate half and brought half home to enjoy later). Everything was very tasty and prepared beautifully. There was a little bit of a language barrier, but our server was very friendly and patient with us. Other customers also pitched in to help us. All the bakery items looked delicious. We bought cookies for dessert and a cake — like item to have with coffee tomorrow morning. It’s a good thing I’m only visiting SLC for the week. If I lived close to this restaurant, I’d quickly be a very plump girl. The restaurant is hard to find and not visually impressive, but the food and the friendly staff make it a gem!
