I love PJ’s! One of the best salad bars around, plus the hushpuppies are great(and endless). Whether it’s shrimp, flounder, steak, chicken tenders, ribs, or just a burger, it’s all good here. I highly recommend PJ’s!

UPDATE: 2÷10÷14. My joy with this restaurant turned into major displeasure, since I spent a major portion of the night in the bathroom with food poisoning. It’s a sure bet that I’m never coming back here again. I had to miss a sales meeting with a potential customer in Winston-Salem, accompanied by my company’s general manager,(he went by himself) since I was in no shape to drive. I think the unrefrigerated, low fat ranch salad dressing sitting atop the salad bar did me in, but my GM theorized that it may have been unwashed baby spinach, which was the base of my salad. I had an extremely unpleasant night, up until about noon the following day. :o( In addition: For all of you A-holes that found this review so darned funny… I’m glad that you think finding hairs in food and food poisoning funny. I hope that you experience the same thing soon, then you’ll see how funny it really is. Jerks! REVIEW, 2÷09÷14 – Normally, this would be an easy review to write. The food, service, and décor easily warrant a four star rating, but… I found a *HAIR* in my baked potato. – I followed Stacy A.‘s advice and ordered the«off the menu,» beef tips cooked medium. I opted for grilled onions and green peppers.(There is also a gravy option.) I chose a baked potato, along with the salad bar, and sweet tea w/lemon. A slice of toast came with the meal. – Bite sized hush puppies with oleo, along with my sweet tea, were brought out immediately. The HUSHPUPPIES were fresh, hot, slightly sweet, numerous, and GOOD.(See my photo.) – The SWEETTEA was FAN-tastic, and I had umpteen glasses. Refills were prompt and timely. – Food: The BEEFTIPS were tasty, although they were cooked well done instead of the medium that I ordered. They were still tender enough that this didn’t present a problem. A little bit of A-1 sauce, salt, and pepper, took the flavor to a higher level. – The BAKEDPOTATO was sizeable and cooked perfectly, but after I added my butter and sour cream and stirred it around, I saw a hair hanging out the side.(My hair is military short, so it wasn’t mine.) Major bummer! That was the end of the baked potato for me, and an immediate one star detraction from my rating. As I said earlier, most people would have stopped right there and given this establishment a one star rating; however, I looked beyond their faux pas. MANAGEMENT: PLEASEREVIEWYOURHAIRNETPOLICYFORTHEKITCHENSTAFF, ANDSEETHATTHESEGUIDELINESAREFOLLOWED. (I didn’t complain to my waitress, because the salad had filled me up, the beef tips were a large serving, I didn’t want to make a scene in the crowded restaurant, and I didn’t want my meal comped either. In 20⁄20 hindsight, I should have shown the hair to the manager.) – The SALADBAR was small but impressive, with two sections. It was easily as good as the salad bar at Lineberger’s steak house near Mooresville. There were plentiful choices among the FRESH salad items. Baby spinach leaves. Large, freshly sliced mushrooms. Ham. Deviled Eggs. Bacon bits, etc. Thankfully, the bowl provided was small enough to rein in my usual overzealous salad plate portions. The second area had pastas, fruit, and other options. I could easily be contented eating a plateful from their salad bar, and maybe in the future — I will. – During my initial visit, the best feature of the restaurant was the SERVICE, which was nothing short of outstanding. I had a hard working waitress, who was both courteous and professional. She was always in perpetual motion. I have not had better service at any restaurant — spot on perfection. – The DECOR, as Stacy said, was sports oriented, with plentiful signed and framed NFL football jerseys hanging on the walls. There were also several TVs broadcasting the Winter Olympics. This is an «A-1 and Heinz 57 on the table,» bring the whole family(and grandma with her walker) type of place. My table, next to the corner booth, was slightly dark, otherwise I would have taken more photos. – Prices are very reasonable. My entire meal was $ 12.18. PS: I only ate two or three of the hush puppies, and I still left, «I need to go home and lie down,» stuffed. LOL

Excellent food and service in a relaxed atmosphere. Some neat sports memorabilia on the walls too. Try the beef tips or prime rib blackened for extra flavor!
