Decent Mexican food in a small town with very few restaurant options. The service left a lot to be desired and drink refills needed to be faster. The food came out fast during weekday lunch and everything was decent but a bit bland for my taste. The fajitas seem to be quite a popular choice here and those might be the best selection here. No margaritas or beer due to the stupid Taliban anti-booze laws of this town. Be a good infidel and go a bit further and you can find another town or city that serves alcohol like good Christians should drink. Remember the first miracle Jesus did was to turn water into wine so let’s honor that miracle. Rant: It really irks me that they don’t have more restaurant options around here as I’m sure people still need to eat more than Mexican and fast food so maybe if they started allowing alcohol sales it might spur more economic development.

Our daughter brought us take out from this place a couple of weeks ago, so we tried it for ourselves this evening. The smell that hit us made us even more hungry. The service was exceptional, the food was served quickly, and cooked to perfection. I ordered the bite(steak) and shrimp. The steak was tender and perfectly seasoned. The shrimp had a perfect pink translucency, not overcooked and rubbery like other restaurants. Our only complaint was that they didn’t serve menudo. The manager was kind enough to tell us of a competing place in nearby Laurel. We’ll definitely be going back to Los Charros.
