I appreciate the effort, but this store feels irrelevant. I’ve always wanted to visit here– but it’s not close to home. I made the drive today, only to find that they had very few items I haven’t seen before at other grocery stores. It’s very small. I’ll stick to grocery shopping for GF items closer to home. I can’t review the bakery, I didn’t try it– though it looked good. This store may be helpful to newly diagnosed celiac who are feeling lost.

Oh the sweet freedom of not having to inspect labels and knowing every single item is safe for me to eat! This store has a great selection and good prices for gluten-free items. They work with Charlotte’s Bakery for fresh bread and other baked goods, all of which are incredibly delicious. I’ve discovered new foods in there I didn’t know were available to me as a gluten intolerant person, and I’ve been able to find items there for my Celiac niece that my sister(who lives in California) was only able to purchase online. The staff is very knowledgeable and everyone is so kind and available to answer questions. The bulletin board near the checkout area will update you in any items that used to be gluten free but are not any longer, and vice versa. It’s a wonderful store, and my only regret is that it’s not franchised and in more locations!

What is this? A grocery store where I can shop with reckless abandon and never fear getting glutened? Where I can throw those naughty looking cookies or baguettes — yes, I said baguettes — in my cart without squinting at the ingredients label for half an hour, decoding its covert intelligence? Finally! A 100% gluten-free grocery! The Dr. Schar gluten-free baguettes, ciabatta, and submarine rolls are like manna from heaven. The Kinnikinnick angel food cake mix — divine! The rustic gluten free graham crackers, better-than-Cheez-its-cheesy crackers, the marshmallow rice treats, the cookies, the cakes, oh my! This place has it all: baking mixes, cookies, breads, cereals, crackers, and the list goes on … everything you have ever desperately sought out online, right there on the shelf! All this, and I even found several local products by Charlotte’s Bakery, including pies, breads and rolls. Mmm, if you have never tried Charlotte’s Bakery banana bread you are missing out — gluten free or not. Some of the prices are a smidgen higher than online, but then again, no shipping — Weee! And some of the prices are competitive or even lower. Many items were on special for prices 50 cents to a few bucks lower than I have ever seen them. Score! Prices aside, you get the warm, fuzzy feeling of supporting a great local business. Best of all was the incredibly friendly, helpful and downright sweet woman working the cash register. She shared several gluten-free tips with me, and we exchanged stories from the trenches of restaurants, travel and friends & family who just don’t «get it.» Mmm, I am already fantasizing about my return visit, when I buy those PB& chocolate rice treats …
