Who knew places like this in Michigan existed? I found this place by accident when I was on this side of town recently, and finally stopped in over the weekend. It’s free to walk around, and there’s plenty to see and do here. The entry way is probably the coolest part. A cool gazebo filled with flowers, trees and all sorts of prettiness to look at. Some of the flowers have signs, some do not. There’s also a large pond with benches if you walk off to the right of the large field behind the gazebo. There’s a few shops there, such as an ice cream place, a photography studio and a railway car. Sadly, the railway car wasn’t open when I was there. We also saw three wedding parties when I was there with my friend. I guess it’s a real hot spot for that, graduation parties and a bunch of other stuff because of how nice it is. There also seems to be a petting farm that’s there but I don’t know when that happens. I will say, having seen a few gardens in my day, this place is nice, but not the nicest one I’ve been to. It’s a great place to come and chat, but it also seems like the few things that are there(like the train) don’t operate or are open enough to keep me coming back here. I would say it’s more of a great place to sit, chat, and watch the sun go down if your into that.(long walks on the beach anyone? ;-)) Overall a really well maintained facility, and fun to stop in at if you have a few minutes of your time.

Jacob and I have driven by this garden many times and finally stopped on a gorgeous summer day. When we walked through the garden, we were impressed by how many flowers they had. The gardens have a huge variety of different shades of flowers, all blooming beautifully long after my spring blooms died from my negligence. Their landscaping is gorgeous and it’s done very beautifully given the smaller space of the grounds. In addition to flowers, there were many different kinds of tropical plants I’ve never seen before. Nature really is a thing of wonders, that’s for sure. The only issue I had with the garden were lack of name-tags on their plants. For every five we visited, we’d be lucky to see a tag on one of them. Adding name tags would be very considerate. This is a small botanical garden, but it’s also free. If you’re looking for something to do on a nice day, just park up here and take a stroll through the garden. If you’re the picnic-ing type, bring some food and enjoy it under their beautiful pavilion.
