Szechuan Chinese Restaurant

Although the staff was nice, the food and establishment was lacking. At 7pm no food on the Buffett, bathrooms were in need of a good scrubbing, salad bar could use a few more veggies, and food was microwaved and or frozen. I would NOT recommend!!!

I absolutely love this place they have the best Chinese food I have ever tasted. The owner and staff are so friendly and will cook whatever you want fresh. I would have given 5 star rating but the place is run down it needs a complete makeover but the food is fantastic & it’s not so expensive.

I’m really on the fence about this place…
Pros:
1. Affordable
2. The staff is SUPER friendly. Our waitress treated my unruly toddlers like they were her grandchildren. She even hooked them up with ice cream and cookies. :)
3. The crab rangoons & lo mein are good.
4. They will make anything on the buffet fresh for you.
Cons:
1. The building & décor are very rundown and in major disrepair.
2. I don’t think the floor has been swept. Ever.
3. The General Taos was sickly sweet.
4. The other dishes, including the fried rice, were a little off-​tasting and strange. But, most were not fresh… Nothing at 7:15pm was fresh and it’s very awkward to ask if they can make everything just for you.
Will I go again? Yes. Will I go inside? No. While the buffet is very cheap ($ 18 total with drinks for 2 adults & 2 toddlers), I don’t think it’s an accurate representation of what they have to offer. They made every order for the drive-​thru fresh and the staff was VERY accommodating. I think they could have a booming business, but their location & the condition of the building are definitely not doing them any favors.

I’m not sure if I should even rate this place as I didn’t actually order any food. I’m not usually scared off by lack of aesthetic appeal but this place looks BAD. The outside is horrible (ie. Dead landscaping, trash by the back door, rotting wood trim etc.). I drove thru to the drive up window and a lady ran around a mop bucket to greet me with flour battered hands… it just makes you feel very leery of the quality of the food. The food may be superb but people arent going to try it when the place looks like that.

Got the Szechaun Chicken to go. Had a nice portion size and was prepared really delicious. Food was still very hot when I got back to eat. Will make it a regular

My favorite place to eat, when I visit Taylor Texas.
I love the buffet and their food is always good, hot and fresh. My favorite is the chicken and mushrooms. I have been here no less that 50 times over the last 10 years and not much has changed.
Place could really use a makeover, but owner and staff is fantastic. The $ 5 all you can each lunch buffet is amazing, but you have to check it out for yourself.

It was delicious and clean. Had Cashew Chicken which had lots of cashews, chicken and perfectly cooked vegetables (crunchy). For those who gave it a bad review, you need to go back and try it again. Everyone very nice. We will go back often.

This place may look a little run down and the floor and tables may be a little sticky but this is the best Chinese food I have ever had. I have had Chinese food from West coast to East coast and nothing can compare to this place. If I walk in and the buffet is not fresh they will make anything I ask.

Walked in with the family. The place was dirty and something didn’t sit well with me. My wife immediately said let’s go some where else. I quickly agreed and we left.

I def agree, I’ve eaten there all my life and I am allergic to MSG so I would def know. Their food is awesome and so cheap compared to other places. The owner is also very kind and always gives her customer what they want and satisfy them. I def recommend this place to all my friends

I’ve gone to Szechuan for years and I can guarantee you that they don’t use msg for their entrees. The only msg found is in their soup. If you want a good quality Chinese food you can find it at Szechuan unlike china one whose food tends to be bland or grand buffet who overdoses their food in msg.

The food here is loaded with MSG. Elsewhere outside of taylor is better than here.

This is slightly better than the other Chinese option in Taylor. Go to Hutto if you want Asian.
