Lechef Pizza

Tried this place based on the good reviews. Don’t believe the hype. Place is run down and creepy looking. Pizza was just ok if you just got off work on the late shift and that’s pretty generous. Seriously.

This is by far the best pepperoni roll in the world. They are amazing. I am sure there are many other downriver folks will agree.

Affordable, large portions and taste pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised, they exceeded my expectations.

I love LeChef they have great pizza and the price is awesome! Used to be cash only (not sure if they still are) that’s why I don’t come here as often as I like but I know when I have cash in my pocket I’m getting pizza from Lechef! Add garlic butter crust, they have the best!

I grew up eating at Le Chef, as I’m sure many people who grew up on the south west side of Taylor did. I remember eating their pizza as a child. In High school my friends and I use to scrape together change so that we could go walk to Le Chef and buy some of their cheesy bread on almost a daily basis. We got many people hooked on that bread, but it may of been some brainwashing due to the bread being called upon by their «munchies»!
As an adult, I still go there whenever I am in the area. I usually order the chicken strip dinner or their steak and cheese subs. The bread that comes with their chicken strip dinner is so good. I save it for last. And their steak and cheese subs are big and filling and they don’t skimp on the steak!
It is a place many people could probably drive past and not even notice. It is a little place, takeout only and I believe they are cash only. The owner seems like the nicest guy ever. The woman that works there usually seems extremely unhappy and I don’t think I’ve ever seen her smile for all the years I’ve been going there, but she is never rude.
It’s affordable and tasty greasy foods. Nothing fancy or what have you. Just yummy food for us hungry people.
