My wife and I are snowbirds, living in Tavares during the winter months. We have frequented Puddle Jumpers on several occasions. The service is very good and the ambiance over looking the lake with the planes landing. I really enjoy their fish and chips and the beer is always cold. Prices are reasonable. I love the place.

We were in town for an AAU tournament and stopped here for a late night dinner. The food was amazing… hot and yummy! Try the jalapeño cornbread blt or the chicken pitadillas! The chili was delicious too! Josh was our server and it was some of the best service we’ve had anywhere!!! Puddle jumpers gets 5 stars!

My husband and I were so looking forward to going back to this restaurant the coconut shrimp is awesome and the servers are usually on point. After weeks of trying to get a day off we made it back last Tuesday at 4:00 looking forward to a few cold beers and shrimp with a great view of the water. Sat down right away only two other tables so it was not busy at all. Our server came over gave us our menu and said she would be right back. She came back out and brought drinks to the table right next to us. Ignored us and went back inside. Then she came out to the other table. And again she never even asked for our drink order. Well after 15 min of this we got up and left as we were already out in the parking lot. And she yells BYEHAVE A GOODONE! Seriously? That was beyond rude. needless to say we won’t be going back any time soon. We will give them another try eventually.

It’s always about service, or lack thereof. Never had such BAD service ever. Entered Puddle Jumpers and asked a worker if we could be seated, and he said sit anywhere. After 10 minutes, had to get up and ask for menu. Same server followed back to table with menus, then took our drink order. After 10 minutes, this server started making rounds refilling drinks, ignored us and continued on his way. So we left … really?!?

I’ve been to Puddle Jumpers a few times now and all in all I can’t complain, although I can’t call it my favorite place either. The appetizers are great, some of the dips are heavenly, but the main entrees leave you saying, «eh, okay.» I have sat at the downstairs bar and also at a table upstairs, the service was much better at the bar. We had one dish come out wrong and the cook himself came out to apologize and they did give us a discount, even though we did not request or expect one. I’ll definitely come back and give it another go.

This place has a great view and makes you feel right at home… Great live music and if you are fortunate enough to talk with Ashley, I promise you that you will have a good night.

Decided to check out Puddle Jumpers on a Sunday afternoon. We arrived and were greeted quickly and friendly. We sat and ordered two beers, which was painless. I ordered the Fish Tacos without fries, the server didn’t mention if there was any other option so I went to hunt her down to ask if I could get something besides fries, she offered coleslaw. She brought out the tacos which looked pathetic, two tiny pieces of fish in over-sized tortilla shells with some sloppy cabbage thrown on top. I told the server that it was unacceptable for $ 10.00, the fish was minutely tiny, it was embarrassing. She agreed and went to have the tacos redone with more fish. Well, she returned with the redone tacos. I could immediately tell it was just a tad more fish added on top of the tacos that were sent back which were now cold. I was so hungry so I ate the coleslaw and started on the tacos. The fish was seasoned with what I’m guessing to was Old Bay seasoning or similar. So disappointing. Server NEVER asked how it was, place was dead so crappy food and service was just unacceptable. I ate one taco, drank my beer and left. Will not return… Such a shame, it’s a great place with a great location, no wonder they’re dead.

My girlfriend and I went to dinner with some members of her company and had a pretty disappointing evening. When we arrived, two girls at the bar told us our seats were outside, and it was almost pitch black at our tables. Only one small outside lamp was lit out there and we all had to use flashlights from our phones to read the menu. We ordered an appetizer(pretzel bites) and they were rather tasty. The dipping sauce that came with them was far too thick to actually scoop with the pretzel bites. It was like a thick chili; would have been better off with a spoon. Although we placed the order for our appetizer and entrées at the same time, it took over an hour and a half to get our entrées out to us. We only had 10 people in our party and we had called ahead days ago and made a reservation. Not like they weren’t expecting us… And they weren’t even that busy! Needless to say, we were anxiously awaiting our meals with that long of a wait, and when they finally came, they were sub par. They had obviously been sitting under a heat lamp for quite a while because they were very dry and barely warm. My fish and chips were glued together and as soon as I picked up a piece, the piece underneath it came unraveled and the batter and fish went falling apart everywhere. And the«chips» were floppy and cold(though seasoned well). My girlfriend’s pasta was dry, and the«sauce» was absolutely tasteless. I guess they tried to make up for it by dumping an entire container of seasoning on the shrimp. The rest of our party had similar complaints. Steak came out almost completely raw, and ice cold. We had to go inside and ask for refills on our drinks. The food was way overpriced. It was just an awful experience and I really expected more from a local restaurant. Definitely won’t be going again, and will dissuade anyone who tells me they’re considering going.

Visited this little restaurant in Tavares with my younger brother snd a family relative. The place was unique but not over the edge. choosing to eat out side we got to observe the pontoon planes coming and going on the lake view we had during our visit. The food was typical pub food and it was acceptable but not extraordinary. I would recommend it gor just a casual and quick lunch

My husband and I dined here last Friday night. The food was awesome, very well priced and came out quickly. Only thing that bothered me with the food(and it does many other places as well) fries and chips included but side salad was $ 1 more. The salad was literally lettuce and dressing so kind of frustrating it was $ 1 more. My husband has a burger and he loved it, the fries were good as well. I did Caribbean Jerk Chicken with no bun and they made it very nicely and included all the toppings without the bun. My husband loved the draft beer and it was reasonably priced at $ 4. I drank Pinot however and was a bit annoyed at the price when we got the bill. 2 glasses were $ 17. I am all for a nice wine but this was a house pinot so I felt the pricing was very high. Out server was very knowledgable about the drink options and menu options. I think a drink menu would help this place a lot to avoid price shock on the bill. I would have known to avoid wine and try something different.
