This place is very fun and a great assortment of new and old games. The place is huge! Had lots of fun with the family.

One of the FIRST thing you’ve gotta to know about this place is: DON’T USETHEMACHINESTOGET A CARD/RE-FILL YOURCARD. My boyfriend and I wanted to get a new card and fill it up with $ 50 for 260 worth of credits, but 1) you can’t use your credit card to pay unless it’s $ 20 or less and 2) debit cards don’t work. We ended up getting $ 20 worth of credits because we didn’t see that there was a customer service where you can charge your card. There is a cash option for the machines, but we werent carrying enough cash. Because we still wanted $ 50 worth of credits, we decided to go to the actual employees and they were able to let us use our credit card for the $ 50 credit option. Anyways, this arcade is pretty much like Dave and Busters with the addition of claw machines and bowling and more games as well. After spending half an hour here, I was actually quite bored. The only thing worth playing are the claw machines, so we spent all our 300 credits on claw machines and won 3 plushies. I still wouldn’t say it’s worth it, but hey, it’s just for entertainment. I probably wouldnt be coming here for another while since it is super far.

Not impressed. I’ve actually spent less at Dave and Busters. NOT one of the staff was smiling or cordial. Games are atrociously overpriced to play and give minimal tickets. Only serve beer and not hard liquor. Food is like that of a movie theatre… and again overpriced. Just meh. And they should definitely consider metal detectors/wanting people down because there are some shady people in there. You wanted honesty…

It’s nice that they have Japanese games, but even with 150 credits… I find myself blowing through 60% of that fairly quickly. Also, been here twice now and judging by other people’s pictures dating back 5 months, the prizes in the crane game are ALWAYS the same. The prize room is nice, although I have no idea how I’m going to get those amounts needed. Honestly, I can’t think of much to say, but feel like most people come for the crane game which I have seen better options at other locations. It’d make my 1.5 hr drive there more worthwhile.

Wow so many Japanese imported games!!! Legit af with a bunch of rhythm games and racing games all in Japanese text as well. Would be nice if they could get a translator so I know what I’m doing LOL. Claw games are expensive as hell and not worth. Bowling alley is pretty decent. The card/ticket system is really nice as well, most of the tickets go straight to your card and you just swipe to play each game(similar to Dave n Busters). Wish they had more DDR machines… About a hundred different types of games, ranging from shooting games, horror games, sport games, rhythm games, and even DDR. Some of these are common/basic ones that can be found at any arcade like basketball, but what makes this place unique is the Japanese games. There are many rhythm games that are pretty cool and pretty cheap! There’s even the table flip game which is weird as hell, but just as fun. There are a few DDR machines, one traditional machine and 2 diagonal-arrow weird ones. Bowling was pretty good. Big comfy couch for a group of people to sit at with a large selection of balls(hah) and even a machine that dispenses shoes. Click a button and your shoe pops up. Wow!!! If Taunton wasn’t so far from Boston, I would come again.

Wish I could rate this place higher but I would be lying game selection is great staff is great management needs work Also the games are highly overpriced and the games pay out very low ticket amounts. So although the prizes compared to other places looks low you end up spending more.

This review is based on the ARCADE portion of Round 1, I honestly don’t know where to start here… Alright, first time we visited round 1, the first week when they opened, the game jackpots where even higher than Dave and busters. So what’s the catch? The catch is that all the games coast about $ 1-$ 2 to play, most costing between $ 1.50-$ 2. This is reasonable knowing that the highest ticket prize in the prize counter is 60,000 tickets. Seems reasonable right? Wrong! We returned to round one yesterday, looking for changes in prices only. Let’s start with loading the card. For starters, they make you purchase in multiples of 10, starting at $ 20 with a $ 1 fee. If you buy $ 20 worth of play, you revive 80 credits, which is no bonus. This time, I decided to purchase $ 50 in gameplay, which equals 240 credits. That’s $ 10 in free play,(when most arcades offer $ 20 in free game play for this amount.) I hate to break it to you, but D&B is cheaper at this point! Round 1 has a huge variety of games, and with a variety of games, comes high prices. So we tried today Ticket Circus, which costed 30 credits to play(you had to swipe 5 times). After swiping the card, the game BROKE! Luckily, the nice game guy came over and fixed the game and gave us some free credits and tickets. When we asked him why the prices were so expensive, he AGREED with us. After he fixed the game, he credited our card and told us the best games to play with the least amount of high prices. After talking to the manager of the place, she said that the prices were based off of California prices. LOOK, THISISMASSACHUSETTS! You have to change your prices to accommodate different ares in this country. Overall, if you want to waste $ 100 and get a couple pieces of candy, this is the place for you.

I had my son’s 10th birthday day party here last sat. It WASAWESOME! Everyone had a great time. The staff was attentive and helpful with all the party stuff. It was pricey but it was worth seeing the smiles on everyone’s face. Pizza was good wings were super good. Bowling was really fun too we had them put the bumpers up for the adults too. The music was on we were all jammin dancing laughing .I even gave cake to the staff. The arcades were super the kids were going nuts. Cons– Now, the prizes they really kinda sucked. There was a few trinkets and candy but nothing really cool unless you dropped mad money in the place alot of the stuff was asking for way to many tickets. I can definitely say they need way more people there working it gets Crazy up in their. It’s as if no one is there it’s so big but there’s just way to many things going on in there to be under staffed. some of the people are just kids working I think they might need some more training. They looked confused once it got jamming. I like the place he’ll yes I’ll be back in say go in check it out

This place is aweeeesome! We came to go bowling & play some games! We got lane for 3, it was about $ 15 a person for unlimited bowling & shoes. The shoe area is SO cool. You find your size, press a button, and your shoes dispense!(See the picture I posted!!) Then we went over to the snack bar & ordered some grub.(The food is typical fried food from a snack bar) Then we went over to the bar. They have tall draft beers for $ 7.50. The only bad part is you can’t open a tab and there is no option to tip on your card, which means if you have no cash, your awkwardly not leaving them a tip. I have no clue what they are paid, so this was a little uncomfortable. The bowling lanes were amazing. Above the lanes are giant tv screens with two different channels on(last night was basketball and FX.) Everything was neat and clean. The bowling balls are all organized by weight. Each weight has their own color and they look like basketballs. They have plenty of different sizes too(XS, S, M, L, XL) which made my roommates very happy. Other bowling alleys you look forever sometimes to find the perfect ball. The seating is couch style with each lane getting their own. There’s also a large table with a divider and room underneath for purses, jackets, and shoes. The game area is huge! It’s absolutely amazing. If you can’t find a game you like then I don’t know what to tell you. They have a photo booths too! We didn’t play but there are ping pong tables and billiards tables. Also, they have private karaōke rooms you can rent. I wish Taunton wasn’t so far because this place was a ton of fun.

I’d been hearing about Round 1 for about a year before they opened, so I was excited to check the place out with my son(age 7). We live here in Taunton and frequently drive to Dave & Buster’s in Providence — it’s a great experience, so I figured that we’d enjoy this relatively similar food/fun/arcade concept as well. This is Round 1’s first location in the eastern part of the United States. It’s obvious that they chose Taunton because of its proximity to two D&B locations, and they probably got a great deal on the lease(the Silver City Galleria is really trying hard to survive). This review will focus specifically on the arcade at Round 1 — there was a two-hour wait for bowling despite some of the lanes being empty, and I’m not sure where the snack bar(or adult bar) are located. If you come in via their exterior mall entrance near the movie theater, you basically walk into a sea of video games. Note to management: invest in some additional signage and maybe a security guard at the exterior entrance — there’s nothing stopping people from taking their alcohol outside, or bringing their own drinks inside. The good part about the arcade: Tons of games. The bad: I’m not even sure where to start, but I’ll try. The first thing you notice about Round 1’s arcade are the ridiculous number of claw games. They’re in the hall inside the mall, leading to the interior Round 1 entrance. They’re just beyond the entrance, they’re near the prize room, and they’re right next to the line to buy a game card. They’re everywhere… and nobody’s playing them, but they seem to have some pretty good prizes. Each claw game also has a photo attached to it, with a helpful tip about what prize is easiest to get. Nice touch. The selection of non-claw games is superb; there are probably 150 to 200 of them, but who’s counting? The game floor is monstrous, and if you’ve been to a Dave & Buster’s then you’ll recognize some of your favorites. Ours are Harpoon Lagoon, Skee Ball and Monster Hunt, so I’ll use these to illustrate why Round 1 deserves this one-star review. To play, I bought a regular«red» Round 1 card(they charge $ 1 for the card) and paid $ 50 for 260 credits… that works out to about 19 cents per credit, and most games at Round 1 are 4, 6 or 8 credits. In short, you’re paying anywhere from 75 cents to $ 1.50 per game. I had to wait in a line about 6 people deep to buy the card — not bad, but this should be more efficient.(I’ve heard that there are vending machines that also sell the cards, but I couldn’t find them — again, better signage is needed). Harpoon Lagoon(a video fish-catching game that rewards you with tickets) costs 6 credits at Round 1… and you get five tries to catch something. We love this game at Dave & Buster’s, and after playing it once at Round 1 I know exactly why it’s better at Dave & Buster’s: Dave & Buster’s gives you ten tries(according to the game maker, the game can be set to offer as few as 1 and as many as 25 tries per play). With just 5 tries offered at Round 1, not only do you get a shorter game, you also win fewer tickets… and it costs more to play. Seriously, we can waste 20 – 30 minutes at Dave & Buster’s playing Harpoon Lagoon, and we have a blast. Today at Round 1, we played it for about three minutes and were done. The game wasn’t nearly as exciting, and each play lasted about 30 seconds. Womp-womp. Skee Ball(Round 1 has the«Ice Ball» version, and just two ‘lanes’)… was out of order. No fun for us. Monster Hunt is a brilliant game — we found it hidden in the back of Dave & Busters’ Providence location and got hooked on it quickly. The game has a spinning wheel of cartoon monsters and ticket values, and two levers — one to start the wheel, one to stop it. Wherever the wheel lands, that’s what you get — sometimes it’s a monster(which comes with a ticket value), sometimes it’s just tickets. Sometimes it’s nothing, but the machine is super-forgiving and usually rewards you with tickets anyway to keep you interested. The goal is to collect(«capture») all eleven monsters(by re-swiping your card to continue the game after each spin). The wheel is big, the lights are fun, and the music and ghoulish-sounding narrator are awesome — the game really has personality and keeps you interested. The best part: You can usually win a ridiculous amount of tickets… our record is well over 1000 tickets after playing for about 10 minutes. It’s a 6-credit game at Round 1; if memory serves me correctly, it’s 3.9 «chips» to play at Dave & Buster’s. Monster Hunt at Round 1 was a letdown, for two reasons. First, the sound was turned off. Second, we played six rounds, and captured exactly ZERO monsters. The game is called«Monster Hunt»… the game is designed to get you to play again and again in order to capture them all… and it’s apparently set so tightly at Round 1 that capturing monsters is all but impossible. At Dave & Buster’s, it’s not uncommon for you to capture at least two or three mo

First and foremost the food service area needs some serious work and possibly new management! These poor souls had no idea how to run a smooth operation or even offer a hint of good customer service. I ordered 2 bottled waters and was told a number and to wait to be called… They were literally in the fridge behind the register, is there no training for multi tasking or work flow??? Clearly not. All the while burgers are just laying there burning on the grill and an order of nachos sits on the counter going cold, I hear no numbers being called as people crowd the counter, just a shameful sight. The arcade area itself is decent, lots of stuff, from your typical American games to bowling and even karaōke rooms There’s also a section of all of these Japanese stuff, it’s pretty neat, esp the fancy photo booths. Some machines are out of order, people on the floor are friendly and quick to respond though. Don’t think I would go out of my way just to come here, Dave and busters would do just fine.

This review is based on TRYING to book an event. I have called now 3 times in a week to try and book a corporate event. The first time I called the person said they had no event people in, and the Managers who were on were way too busy to book an event. Didn’t want to take my name and number, just said to call back in an hour. So I called back the next day. EXACT same thing happened, this time they took my name and number down and said someone would call me by the end of the day. No call. I waited 3 days and tried to call back again this morning. Just called, and the person who answered sounded extremely frazzled and told me they were too busy to take my call. I will take my company for a corporate outing somewhere that wants to business, clearly Round One doesn’t want it.

I’ve been to Japan and I’ve been to round1 in California. I appreciate the fact that they are trying their best to bring back arcades as entertainment and I love that there’s bowling and a bar and billiards! But the gaming needs to be more! Not enough diverse games to get my attention. And the crane games?! What the hell is up with the weird neck bags to stop the prize from falling? I understand you’re trying to make it hard to win a prize but even California’s machines didn’t have that. Japan never had tools like that as well. This place has potential but with modern society’s interest and with people from New England, this place may have no hope.

I visited again last week and wanted to take off another star. My opinion and review is pretty much the same as last time, but what made me decide to knock off another was the fact that it was clear that this place was designed to take away your money(I mean most arcades are. but this one is just absolutely blatant). In the prize room I just saw too many kids only having enough tickets for a few pieces of candy. The ticket payouts were low for the number of credits and a significant amount of the games payed out almost 2 – 5 times less than their counterparts at D&B. You can still have a good time because of bowling, karaōke, and with games that aren’t focused on winning tickets, but this place hasn’t found that sweet spot where you feel like you just spent enough money and had a good enough time to justify visiting. Those photobooths are still hilarious though.

I am going to copy and paste my friend’s review from another website, because honestly I couldn’t have said it better myself: «I really wanted to love this place. The concept is great. The place is huge and it has a lot to offer. But it’s a waste of time. Walking into the place there were no employees to be seen. Didn’t make me feel very safe considering anyone could walk right in off the street without question. We wanted to bowl, there were 6 of us. There was a white board near the ‘bowling’ counter that said there was no wait list for bowling and to come back in about an hour. Thought this was a little strange because how do I prove I was here an hour ago opposed to someone who just walked in? We inquired with the employee at the desk who put us on the(nonexistent) wait list and told us it would be about an hour. We inquired about darts while we waited but were told that the darts were broken. We decided to grab some beer while we waited. There was a huge line and one bartender. We decided to buy a couple of pitchers so we wouldn’t have to wait in line again. We sat and waited for over an hour noticing there were several empty lanes and no names being called. We decided to check in with the girl who took our name for bowling thinking maybe one of the empty lanes would be ours. We were told that there were about 7 people ahead of us and that she was the only one at the bowling counter. She had 5 names to call. It would be another 35 minutes. So we sat and waited again. About 40 minutes. A friend noticed someone who looked like a manager walk by with an earpiece and asked why there were 7 lanes now open and not being filled. She said there were ‘error codes’ on some of the lanes, which was weird because most of the empty lanes had cups and plates from the previous customers. Anyway, we ended up leaving after sitting there for almost 2 hours. $ 30 is all we spent. 6 of us. Let that sink in. This place could be an absolute gold mine if it were managed properly. But it’s not. How could a place like this have one bartender when clearly there is a need for more? Why are people who are bowling forced to wait in a 30+ minute line for a drink, holding up the entire bowling game? Why are there not waitresses bringing drinks to these people who are spending $$ bowling? I just don’t get this business model and I’m sorry to say that I don’t see Round 1 surviving very long at this rate.»

Hello all, Well was my first time checking out this place and it has more cons then pros. As far as entertainment this place is awesome. They have bowling, arcade games, pool and bar! However, the bar wasn’t much of a bar they was no bartender! It was a woman working a cash register with a big line of people. It reminded me of high school when you waited in line for food only difference is alcohol. The wait to get on the physical waiting list for bowling was ridiculous! This place is just understaffed plain and simply!

Really fun place to take a break from shopping and spend an hour. different games than other arcades that I’ve been to. Prices are fair. I didn’t try the bowling alley cause the ball would have ended up in the middle of the mall LOL but the people playing looked like they were having a great time. The karaōke rooms were neat too and the games were lots of fun, they averaged $ 1 a game. I haven’t tried the food, but will rewrite review once I do. I did notice the arcade was extremely clean, but only saw one employee the whole time I was in there. its still a new business and employees need to be in sight for problems.
