If I had known there was a listing for GATRA MassHealth Medical Transportation before, I would have reviewed it long ago. This agency is, simply put, awful. I only call when I have several appointments to book/cancel, since I have never waited less than 20 – 30 minutes on hold. The recorded message while I am on hold repeats over and over and over again, asking me if I knew I could check schedules online on their website. Um, duh, that’s not the number I am calling. The phone number is specifically designated for MassHealth Medical Transportation, so why on earth would I go online to check the bus schedules, for buses that don’t even service my city? The recording repeating itself constantly is enough to make me want to throw the phone out the window, but I can’t, because I NEED these services to get from Brockton to Boston for my medical appointments. It sure would be great if they would issue customers an ID number, and allow booking online, like MART(Montachusett Area Regional Transit) does in Fitchburg. It would be much more convenient for customers, and much cheaper for them in labor costs. As the system stands currently, I wouldn’t be at all surprised if they were providing additional transportation for psychiatric visits for patients they have driven nuts from using their own phone system!
