Went here last night to watch the USA soccer game. The game wasn’t on the big screen until we asked, but the bartender was nice enough to change the channel for us. There are a lot of TVs, so no matter where you sit you’ll have a good view of the game. I ordered wings(hot) and the nacho grande. The wings were a good portion and the sauce was good. The breading was a little excessive, but overall they were satisfying. The nachos were good, but nothing special. I would probably try the pizza next time I go.

I ONLY want to discuss the wings. Because I’ve seen a couple or three bad reviews here. My girl is a local; I’m new to the nabe. Just had an order of 10 wings, medium. Let me say this: When the platter goes down in front of you on the bar, and you see those dark, possibly over-fried, wings, you say(in your head) «Oh hell, NO!» To those«in the brain» words I say this: STICKONEOFTHOSESUCKERSINYOURMOUTH!!! WOW!!! You will not leave a single lil ol’ chicken body part on that plate. ’nuff said. Enjoy!

Above average bar food and service. Fun place to hang with the locals and watch the game. Great local bar if your expectations are reasonable.

I was in town and wanted to see a game on the NFL network that in law didn’t have, so I checked this place out after reviews here in Unilocal.Unilocal was pretty dead on. Lots of patrons who were familiar with one another, but were receptive to people who weren’t regulars. Bartender and wait staff very friendly. I’d go here again. In hind sight, wings were good but fried chicken style(not that it was bad, just expecting something different) Generous portion. Guy next to me got a pizza and I wish I got that instead. I’d go here again in a heartbeat.

Great local spot to watch football. Food was good, beer was good but the crowd and employees were better. Nice to meet you Trish and thanks for buying me a beer. Matt you do a great job in keeping everyone happy. I live in Chicago so I wasn’t sure going to a local bar would be a great way to spend the day. I was wrong. Hope to spend my weekends home, but if I’m in Tarrytown, I’ll be back.

We stumbled into this bar by accident and were pleasantly surprised. 5star Dive bar. Great food, friendly staff and you can’t help but to have a few beers. I had delicious wings and a nice roast beef sandwich.

Yummy cheesesteak! Hot and fresh. My husband had the chicken parm sandwich and he loved it. Friendly and personable staff. We’ll return again!

Tough to manage a 4 star review on Unilocal when you are a sports bar. But, these folks pull it off

If you have never been here it’s a little piece of sanctuary. The patrons are friendly and a number of them are locals. Great place to watch sports and the food is top notch. Especially the Roast Beef sandwich. The staff Matty, Heather, Trish and of course the Demeter family who are the best! One of my must go places when I’m Tarrytown.

Demeter’s is awesome. Same food options you would expect from a bar but the food is clearly better than the average place and obviously made with more care. Wings, sandwiches, burgers, and salads are all good. Lots of TVs and a nice crowd make this place a great spot to watch a game.

Just came today to have a drink here with my two friends from out of town. Says it closes at 4am and we arrived around 1:15am. It was full of people. I approached the bar and the bartender gave me eye contact, I kindly asked for 3 beers. He was pouring drinks and told me those were his last drinks for the night and he was closed. In disbelief, I asked«so you can’t get 3 beers out of the fridge» and he said«no like I said we’re closed.» I sat down with my friends and observed him interacting with other customers. He approached us shortly and asked«is there anything more I can do for you?» Upset, I replied, «you can leave us alone» he proceeded to say«you can get the fuck out of the bar» and screamed us out of the bar. During the altercation he mentioned that he was the owner but no owner would ever treat a customer that way. I’ve come here multiple times with guests and had a very pleasant experience but I will NEVER return no matter what is offered to me or who apologizes. STEERCLEAR that bartender was erratic and unstable. I feel less safe in Tarrytown knowing this man works here. ***Update after some research, I discovered this man was not the owner. The owner is Steven Demeter this man’s first name was Matt.***

I had the roast beef yesterday and it was so good, I went back today and tried the pizza. I had them make my favorite, sausage, pepperoni and jalapeño. I have to say it was the best thin crust I have had in a long time. Crispy, chewy crust with ample amounts of toppings. Also Trish working the bar and waiting tables was fantastic.

In the White Plains area for work and stumbled upon this place with the help of Unilocal.A short walk from the Sheraton in Tarrytown, I can honestly say that I have never walked into a friendlier or more hospitable place. Bartenders make a sincere effort to know your name, include you in conversations, etc. Had a BLT on Thursday and just some zucchini sticks as an app on Friday. Both good. TV’s wherever you look and they know their sports. Great crowd, great staff, great place.

This is a neighborhood dive bar not pretending to be anything else. It was close to my hotel, so I walked over around 6pm on a Monday(you’d never know it was there until you get right up on it. I found it via Google Maps). The two female bartenders were very friendly and they had strong opinions about football that got heated once it was asked who the most over-rated QB is(Eli Manning was the consensus choice). Note, this appears to be a Philly bar as I saw several Eagles and Phillies items behind the bar. The bartender banter is a major plus and the main reason I gave it three stars. Matt Damon and Ben Affleck wish they could write banter this authentic. I wanted to write it down for my own screenplay. It was classic. Atmosphere was casual, as any dive should be. Beer selection was crap. This is one thing I hate about dive bars. I’m a beer snob and that’s that. Brooklyn Lager was the *best* beer they had. Ooomph! I liked the friendliness of the people so I looked past this, but it was a mighty effort on my part(pats self on back). I ordered a quesadilla and a Brooklyn. The quesadilla was decent. The Brooklyn was, ya know, it was there. I didn’t spit it out, so there’s that. It was a light night, but there were enough patrons to keep the banter lively. The bartenders kept everyone engaged. They were fun and lively and attentive. I would definitely go back, if only to enjoy the personalities. It’s like an improv comedy show with no cover.

No matter where you are from, this will feel like your favorite local bar. Always good conversation, decent selection of draft and bottle beers, and great food. The pizza(made to order in a legit pizza oven), crispy hot wings, baked pretzels with spicy mustard, and the classic roast beef sandwich with au jus are a few of my favorites. Lot’s of TV’s for all the games and once the sports are over, the touch tunes jukebox facilitates an eclectic patron playlist. All of this plus the two of the most awesome bartenders(Matt and Heather) on earth, and this is easily one of the best local bars everyone should plan to visit.

great classic sports bar vibe. went in for dinner excited(love bar food, also there was nothing else open near the sheraton), couldn’t decide what to order(menu was huge which is a plus) so I asked the proprietor what he recommended and he suggested the chicken steak is his favorite. now being from the west coast I’m never entirely sure what a chicken steak is, usually assume it’s either a fried piece of chicken, or something grilled of some sort. sandwich came out, and I was excited. first bite left me waiting. and the second. and the third. there was a side of creamy balsamic dressing to dip(?) which made no sense for the dish and didn’t really do it any justice. the sandwich tasted and looked and I’m pretty sure was a stack of chicken breast cold cuts cooked on the stove for a few minutes with some onions and mozzarella. it all blended into a relatively tasteless experience where I found myself unexcited to dip my sandwich but left with no other choice. it makes me sad, it really does, because the rest of the menu looked so good. happens to the best of us I guess. alas, at the end of the day, as I lie here in my bed still thinking about how unhappy I am about my decision, I can blame no one but myself. by no means am I calling myself any kind of food conoasouer(sp) of any sort, and I would never have sent it back, but I just feel so let down after spending $ 15 on something that left me so unsatisfied that I had to buy a butterfinger bar to make myself stop crying(not actually, but I did buy a butterfinger). the fact is, though, that clearly this left enough of an impact on my soul that I got out of bed at 1AM to share this with the world. friendly folks though, would go back.
