I’ve been to the salon twice. The first time I wanted to go blonder(my hair was a light brown/red). I spent 30 minutes doing a consult and hearing the manager tell me how damaged my hair was, how awful it was that my roots were longer than ¼in, that I needed to commit to caring for & repairing my hair, and that they are the color experts. The stylist did a good job. Not the best but they said the reason I couldn’t be completely blonde is because my hair lacked protein and I needed to use a protein spray for 4 weeks then come back. I was a little offended by how belittling they were being regarding my hair. For the record(and I’m not an expert), my hair didn’t seem that damaged(I don’t straighten/curl it, barely blow dry it, and use Paul Mitchell shampoo). In fact, my friends envy my hair because it’s naturally straight, super soft, and doesn’t frizz. And I’m sure my roots were grown out past the time normal people touch them up, but I work 50+ hours/week at a hospital and can’t always make it to the salon every month like Philip Pelusi wanted. Anyways, I did the protein treatment like they wanted and came back a month later(so I didn’t have to hear them bitch about my roots). The stylist added highlights and color — I was now the blonde I wanted the first time I visited. I’ve heard mixed reviews regarding Philip Pelusi and in my experience, they do a good job with color(and they love to brag about how superior they are compared to others) and the price is higher than most(which they justify by being«experts»). I was looking for a new stylist(because mine moved out of state) so I decided to give them a try, but both times I was put off by their high and mighty, snobby attitudes. I found another salon that can do the same thing at half the price and the stylists don’t have a holier than thou attitude.

I loved the salon and my stylist, Lacey. Everyone was very friendly. Lacey asked me what I was looking for and made sure I was happy with everything as she was going. She was very educational when it came to which products she was using. I never buy products at a salon, but she sold me on a few of them. I was very impressed. I’ll definitely go back!

Avoid avoid avoid! Went 10 years ago, was charged nearly $ 35.00 for a haircut back then and stylist said that her rates were high because of her years of experience? Well it was the worst simple men’s haircut I had ever. That was until today! Yep I was talked into giving them another try because I feared going to a simple franchise place like Borics would not have the experience stylists to complete a «men’s hair coloring to reduce«SOME» grey. I showed the stylist a picture of a guy on specifically how much grey I wanted to keep and even her manager came over for a «consultation«on a positive outcome would be expected. Well my hair is completely dark with only a few grey hairs, it looks like it came from a grocery store box and by far the worst unstylish haircut ever! Ok you screwed up the dye job but you could have at least gave me a half decent haircut. It literally has no shape. Something my Dad gave my brothers and I out in the garage when we were like 5 years old. Oh let’s not forget that when I went to pay, the stylist stood, immediately next to me hovering over me to see her tip! I generously and gave her a $ 10.00 tip but yet the cashier rung me up for a(no lie) a $ 25.00 tip!!! Not even close!!! .Then the cashier states«oh I made a mistake on the tip or is that ok» what… Is that ok ??? really… Ever been to a car dealer and walked out saying that you have just been ripped off? Is this some kind of a scam!!! I freakin think so!!! My temper was about to go off but I saw my daughter staring at me and I regain my composer and tried to set what now is a stupid example and said» nope that’s fine, signed the receipt and left. Completely disgusted and ripped off. You can spend money on décor, play nice music and have the stylist wear nice outfits but if they cannot cut, style or color hair then you might as well go to Fantastic Sam’s, Borics etc scratch the atmosphere pay $ 13.00 for a haircut. If the haircut isn’t what you like well it’s better than paying $ 27.99-$ 58.99 for a simply men’s haircut. For that price, you can come back tomorrow and try it again and screw the atmosphere! Your there to get your hair done not spend the day! I gave it one star only because I couldn’t figure out how to rate it for no stars!
