The food and staff are awesome! The staff makes you feel welcome and the humming pig cake is indescribable!

Nice little restaurant in town. The owner comes out and gets all the guests. She has a great personality and fits the place. Good seafood, great homemade desserts.

Amazing food and even better service, we felt like we were so welcome and the owner was so sweet. Very reasonably priced seafood and everything was homemade

The existing comments led us to believe this place was halfway decent. It’s a complete dive. The décor is very old. We went there for lunch based on Unilocal review, what a mistake. The staff is friendly but the food is terrible and very overpriced. For lunch, I got theircrabcake basket special for $ 8.99. It came with ONE(fried) 2″ diam crabcake, 2 small hushpuppies, and coleslaw. The crabcake was overcooked. The hushpuppies were okay. But the portions are pathetically small for $ 8.99. This should’ve been only $ 5.99. I don’t recommend eating there.

My husband and I and two friends dined here recently on a trip to Tappahanock Va. We spent the night at the Days Inn and the front desk recommended this spot. Wow, great food and a nice staff! We enjoyed it so much we ate there on 2 nights during our trip.

Fun little neighborhood dive. Good food(and great hush puppies!), but the portions aren’t all that big, especially for the prices. Still, I’m sure we’ll eat here again next time we pass through.

I get take out here when I am in the area. I LOVE their crabcake sandwich. Have had it both fried and sauteed and both were fabulous. Fresh, delicious crab — little or no filler — just plain good! This is my treat when I am in Tappahanock. I always get the same thing — the crabcake sandwich, fries(which are good too), and cole slaw(yummy/fresh/crisp), so I can’t comment on their other food. It’s always made fresh to order and they are SO friendly.

Stopped in here on the way back to Hampton Roads. Great, quick service and the food was nice and hot. Got a steak sandwich, which was bland. Friend got a flounder sandwich. He said it tasted good, but he spent a good portion of the time picking out bones. They have an extensive burger menu and great iced tea.

Solid crab cakes. Great hushpuppies. Interesting tartar sauce(with pickled carrots?). Crispy onion rings. Refreshing slaw. Cheap beer. Speedy and friendly service. Outdoor and indoor seating. Husband and wife owned and run.

This quaint, family-owned café and seafood shop on the main Rt 17⁄360 through Tappahannock is the real deal. A well stocked selection of fresh seafood including crab, shrimp, oysters(in the shell and shucked), scallops, many fish varieties — rockfish, flounder, and catfish are available in the seafood store. The café offers dinners — $ 8 to $ 22 — such as crab cakes, soft shell crabs, oysters, flounder, and rib eyes with many side dishes. Everything is homemade, including the tartar and cocktail sauces! I strongly recommend the fried oysters(like butter!) and the crab bisque(tons of crab!). A wide selection of sandwiches featuring any of the seafood mentioned range from $ 3 to $ 7. The café offers at least 6 homemade desserts like bread pudding and brownies. Friendly service, large portions, and reasonable prices. This is a must-stop place in your travels!
