When Lia B and I went on a road trip to meet my most favorite author ever(Tom Robbins at Rappahannock Community College in Warsaw, VA – one of the best days of my life), we packed lots of food and snacks in anticipation of rural Virginia not being vegan friendly. Pueblo Azeteca was SUCH a pleasant surprise! Our server knew what vegans eat and he was so friendly and he took great care of us. And the food was very tasty! We were so happy! Highly recommend!

Came back again and had a better dining experience. The food is still consistently very good. Although a major redecorating would help we sat in a different section that seemed less shabby. Still not much ambience. The overhead fluorescent lights were not on thank goodness! That made it better. Portions are very generous and great to take home. And we loved the free cheese dip with the traditional salsa.

We were in search of a Mexican place to eat in Callao, VA but it seems like it was closed so we ended up here… I know — a bit farther away… The place was dark, not the cleanest atmosphere and not many folks in here for a Saturday night. All clues that should have told us to turn around and walk out. But yet we didn’t take the clues… We ordered diet coke and iced tea and were brought diet coke and water with lemon. We didn’t say anything — water was actually fine. Standard service included chips, salsa and some weird queso served over refried beans. Interesting — slightly odd and bland tasting. Not really hot — queso dip but not really bean dip. Moving on — I tried the beef stuffed in zucchini. I know — not the most Mexican thing on the menu — thought it sounded good. It was on the specials part of the menu after all. The zucchini was so overcooked and soggy it was awful. The ground beef that was stuffed inside it was awful. It was hardly seasoned — it would have been better if they had tried to use taco meat. Rice and beans on the side were so bland and cold and then the plate was smothered in sauce. The plate was so hot — not sure how the plate could be so hot and the food so mediocore cold. I don’t even remember what my husband ordered but it was the same way — bland, smothered and plate so hot he couldn’t even touch it to move farther away from him to keep from burning himself. They never refilled our drinks and then attempted to charge us for the iced tea we never got. Needless to say we couldn’t get out of there fast enough and I doubt we will back. Sorry Tappahanock — this is not the place for Mexican…

I’m from El Paso. I liked this food. It may have been just-a-bit salty but flavorful and certainly not greasy. I’m not expecting the Mexican food in VA to compare to So New Mexico, because even food in El Pado falls short. This easily met the expectations I had from Unilocal. The chicken and the fish were tender and tasty. The Margaritas were great. So many sizes.

Food was not good at all… sent the food back and still had to pay for it. Bad customer service on their end. It was the second and third time I had been in there. The first time, the food was OK… the second and third, inedible. Sent it back both times, still had to pay for it AND had to eat somewhere else.

What a find, full menu of everything Mexican you can think of. Been here a few times and simply cannot get enough of it. Excellent service and great bar selections. The California Burrito is a favorite.

Driving down 17 on a Sunday afternoon poses the problem of many restaurants being closed. This was a great find, nice atmosphere, good drinks, and great food.

Stopped by for a quick dinner while on a road trip. Complimentary cheese and bean dip was delicious. I had the fajita grande. It was good, but so much food — recommend sharing. Fast service, and excellent value for the cost.

This place is amazing! The guy working was so polite and friendly. I love that they give free cheese dip. Salsa I wasn’t a fan. I have had better but not too bad. I got the 48 oz margarita and they aren’t shy on tequila. Yay :) Fajita Burrito was FANTASTIC. I can’t wait to come back here. Good for the little town of Tappahanock.

With only two choices for Mexican in this town, the other place didn’t set the bar very high. My expectations weren’t great but I was pleasantly surprised. Pueblo Azteca replaced a sports bar but with the Mexican themed décor you would never know it. Nothing fancy and the menu has your standard fare. I ordered tacos de carne asada. There was enough for two people and it hit the spot. I’ll be back with friend and family.

Excellent Mexican food. Great service and friendly atmosphere. If your looking for some excellent Mexican food this is the place to go to. You just can’t beat it. The night we ate there they had a duet playing called Denim-n-Lace who were great!

Went back to the restaurant for dinner with the family is very happy with the results. The meals where more than what we could eat and had to end up taking some home very affordable and very pleased with everything that we got there. We plan on making eating out there a regular occasion.
