What a super cute toy store! I stopped in while I was walking and shopping today. The store is so sweetly decorated and the items are all nicely displayed. They also have a little fish pond that you can make a wish in by asking them for a wishing stone (since coins are bad for the fish). I bought one small item and enjoyed chatting with the girl working the counter. I saw a playground in the back but didn’t go out there. They have all kinds of neat toys, games, puzzles and other items. Totally worth a stop!

This was such a great stop with kids! The toy store has a cozy, enchanted hobbit-​house kind of feel, with beautifully carved doors and architectural detail. And the playground was like an oasis in the midst of boring grown-​up stops.

Visited while in Taos for a family event and this place is fantastic! Kids got to do crafts and played for hours in the play area. Such a welcoming and whimsical place!

I was unimpressed with this toy store as there was very little in here that seemed locally produced.

With or without children this is an amazing place. 5 uniquely different sections of wonderful toys. Education, toddler, teen, and more! With the giant play structure outside the kids stay amused for hours. The staff is friendly, intelligent, and keep the shop looking great! Save some time for this taos beauty when you visit!

What a fantastic toy store. Great toys, good prices, and great ‘free’ playground!

Hours of fun for everyone and ten dollars off per hundred spent so there is a good marketing plan to keep you and the kiddies coming back. Playground space is really creative and honestly I’ve seen nothing like it, all hand made with great live and care. The back door alley entrance/​exit shouldn’t be missed as traffic on road is a tad difficult to manage if with children and do indeed explore the games and puzzles as that took me most by surprise aside from the really cool old school mushroom you can sit inside on the playground!

Whenever we go down to Taos, we check this place out. It is gorgeous inside, lots of fun toys, and the staff are always incredibly friendly and nice. It is fun for grown-​ups too! ;)

Twirl is a store and free play place for children. The atmosphere is small but inviting. Very friendly staff and fast service. We will be returning. I highly recommend Twirl for adults and children.

I was vacationing in Taos and went to Twirl Toy Store without any kids — but felt like a kid the entire time.
Coolest toy store ever! I’m San Francisco and we don’t have a place that has the delight factor that this cute shop has. The experience starts from the outside — where you’re greeted by a ride-​on duck. When you enter the store — you’re transported to nether, nether land — totally sucked in by the classics, the silly, the whimsical. That’s another way of saying wooden toys, Lego, fake moustaches, penguin pop-​guns, and rainbow wigs.
There’s something for every kind of kid — princess types, crafters, geeky science experimenters, builders, and those still breast feeding. And of course toys for nostalgic adults.
The shopkeeper was very welcoming. She didn’t mind at all when my girlfriends and I HAD TO try on the costumes! Pirate hats, dinosaur heads, rabbit ears, Spartan helmets. We looked so cool.
I’m a good auntie and purchased designer bandaids for my nieces. The shopkeeper offered us free kiddie tattoos and most importantly a glass rock so we could throw it into the wishing well before left.
The wishing well — is more like a grotto — where gnome families reside. I closed my eyes, wished that my now teenage son doesn’t get into any car accidents this year, and threw the glass stone into the water.

Wow!!! What a fun place!!! It’s an amazing toy store that feels as though its built into a hobbit hole, with knocks and crannies everywhere you walk. They have this amazing wishing well thing with real goldfish!!! I’m a grown man and I thought it was amazing so I can only imagine how a little kid must feel walking through this place. Their range of toys is amazing, from mainstream big name stuff to imported environment friendly toys from Europe that you’ve never heard of (but should). they also have the age range covered to– from newborn toys to pre teens. The staff are all extremely nice and outgoing, they even have a centralized command center that they sit at and answer customers inquiries. This was a highlight during our time in Taos!

My review should be taken with a grain of salt because I didn’t purchase anything, have no clue about prices, and had little interest really in what they were selling; but that’s mostly because my daughter’s seven months and has no use for toys plus I don’t want her being strung out on toys by the time she’s two.
BUT, I was so impressed by the little play area in the back here. So cool. Again, my daughter was too young to even enjoy the little paradise for kids they have here, but as I sat on a bench with my daughter in my lap watching other children have a blast, I realized that we just have to return here in about a year and a half to let her run wild.
I can’t wait.
Taos is a better place for having this.

Love this place. Love it. You walk in here and it’s a discovery around every corner. I am 38 years old and I wanted to buy everything to play with, it’s just that fun. The toys, puzzles, and games are all in the discovery type and imagination type genre, so kids are encouraged to play and imagine with the toys you buy here. We fell in love with all of the baby toys (expecting in July). The hubby had to drag me out of there before I bought everything.
Seriously, there’s even a wishing well in there with koi and a huge playground out back. It made me want to be a kid again. They have a members club you can sign up for as well and the staff was so friendly. We will definitely make this a must-​stop when we come down to Taos.

This is a very cool toy store. First of all the selection of toys is great. The toys are top notch, and not just the noise makers that you find in so many different toy stores. We went into the store to find some new toys for 8 month old twins that we know, and we found some great options.
The store is beautifully organized by age group, so finding what you are looking for is a breeze.
In addition this store really is about the kids. When you walk out the back door, there is the greatest play structure ever. There are also other toys, trikes and more to try out. Out thirteen year old’s eyes even grew big when she saw the back yard.
If you have a kid somewhere in your life, and you are in the area, stop by and find them something cool.

This is our third visit to this store, we went twice on this last trip to Taos. This is one of the VERY few kid-​friendly and kid-​geared things to do in Taos, so once you add in the fantastic play area in front it was a must-​see stop.
They had a great collection of puzzles, and we found a few nice items for an upcoming birthday party. We also got a mini colander which my daughter can use to wash her blueberries and help in the kitchen.
We participated in a «build your own sock bunny» art class they held upstairs (Thursdays 3pm) which was pretty cool (and free, except for a tip).
There’s a pond indoors with fish, and little rooms that lead out from the main entrance with their own themes.
Good find, wish we had one of these closer to us.

This is by far the best toy store I’ve been to in recent memory. It’s a great place for the kids to enjoy being kids, and for the adults to remember the sense of wonder from childhood.
As mentioned, it’s very clean and very well-​maintained. The staff is super nice as well. A must-​stop if you ind yourself in Taos.

Really great toy shoppe! I read about it in a touristy magazine and was not really expecting much, but I was blown away! It’s filled with creative/​scientific/​imagination-​oriented toys. I liked that their selection was lacking all the bombastic, obnoxious garbage you see at every other toy store. The intimate themed rooms were fun to explore and I found quite few things my son adored. The playground outside was really cool and well-​kept. Inside, I was enchanted by the wishing fish pond. Prices were kinda high, but for the types of items they were peddling, it was fair. If I’m ever in Taos again, I WILL go back. Even if I don’t buy anything, I’d like to just look at the place again. :)

One of the coolest toy stores I’ve ever seen. The attention to detail inside each room, including an enchanted staircase and an indoor fountain amidst a painted scene, are nothing short of incredible.
It’s very clean and very well-​maintained. A true gem of fun nooks and crannies from people who obviously care a lot about what they do.

This place was AWESOME!
I loved this multi-​roomed toy store with its own killer playground.
The prices seemed reasonable and the selection was unreal.
They also offer free gift wrap if you so desire.
So, so great.
