This is a very good place to it. It serves the best Italian food in all of Taos. The pizza is much better than any other pizza like Dominos or Pizza Hut, and the Fettuccine Alfredo is great. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

I can not recommend Mondo Italiano enough. The staff is awesome and the owners Are extremely welcoming … One or both are working right beside their staff to insure the customer service and the food are perfect. I work long hours and at times, I just do not have the energy to come home and cook. I can always count on Jennifer to create something Yummylicious for me. If I can not dine in or carry out, then her husband Genarro is ready to deliver to my home. Now this is customer service bar none! Thank you Mondo Italiano for making my evenings much more relaxing after a long day of working hard. Blessings

The food here is excellent! My wife and I came here with another couple of friends after an evening at the slopes. I had the Mama Mia Meat Lovers pizza, my wife had the Pan Roasted Chicken Breast, and our friends had the Shrimp Bruno and the Chicken Parmigiana. We were all impressed by the quality of food we got here at Mondo Italiano. The service here was also great. The waitress (Jessica) made sure that we all had what we wanted.
Don’t let the fact that Mondo Italiano is in a strip mall run you away. Again the food here is excellent. If you are wanting to eat great Italian food, you are gonna want to eat here.
We will definitely be repeat customers next time we come to Taos, NM.

A little expensive even for Taos, but if you are into Italiano :-) this is your place in Taos. We had the Greek & Apple salad, both really good. Then the Chicken Parmigiana Entrée (the best), the Spaghetti with Meatballs (GOOD), the Big Kahuna 12″ (3rd best) and the Eggplant Parmigiana with Broccoli Rabe as a side (last place). The best Chicken Parmigiana was past around 3 times. My Spaghetti with Meatballs made two trip and the Eggplant Parmigiana with Broccoli Rabe was tasted but no one wanted more than a taste. The Big Kahuna 12″ didn’t last long enough to be pasted around. At least our grandson liked it. Next time we try the seafood side of the menu.

We recently visited Taos while on vacation and stumbled into Mondo Italiano because our daughters couldn’t agree on what to eat. This restaurant was a total surprise and delight! The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic! Everything is made with all fresh, locally sourced ingredients and you can definitely tell. My wife typically will not go to «strip center restaurants» but she has said multiple times that she wishes we could go go there every week. I highly recommend Mondo Italiano.

When I couldn’t eat another green chili, I went here with my wife and our 3 year old daughter. They had paper on the table with crayons so my daughter was distracted. No kids’ menu is a minus. My wife and I had lasagna while my daughter had cheese ravioli. The sauce was flavorful. The pasta wasn’t over cooked. It was a good meal. The staff was very friendly. It is popular with a nice vibe. And, the prices were reasonable. Just wish they had a children’s menu.

DELICIOUS.
Unilocal to the rescue when we were starving and on the outskirts of Taos! The reviews were good, but I still had pretty low expectations based on the Italian food I’ve eaten so far in New Mexico.
Bruschetta Platter ($ 5) with the tomato, garlic & basil was fresh and delicious. I ordered the ½ plate of the Penne Primavera ($ 8.50) with zucchini, broccolini, spinach, sundried tomatoes, fresh tomatoes and goat cheese. It was delicious… perfect blend of pasta, fresh veggies and flavorful marinara. The ½ portion was MORE THAN ENOUGH for me, also.
The restaurant is in a strip mall and the setup is very casual, but don’t let that deter you.

Didn’t expect to find good Italian food in Taos and we were pleasantly surprised by Mondo Italiano. We tried the bruschetta which was delicious a bit heavy on the garlic, but hey it is bruschetta and everyone has their own style. We also got a chicken Parmesan sandwich with salad instead of fries and we ordered a calzone with the aloha toppings. Only complaint is that the cook added waaaaaaay to much jalapeño to the calzone. My hubby and I love spicy and this was a jalapeño from hell. Lol, still ate the calzone cuz it was still yummy despite the heat. Also, I tried an almond flavored Italian soda and it was like a refreshing desert in a glass. Overall, happy with dinner and the friendly service.

I had the lasagna, my husband had the pizza, and the boys split spaghetti and meatballs. the portions are great. The food is fantastic. The cost really isn’t a two dollar mark somewhere in between one and two dollar mark. I would come back if I have chance.

After a long day on the slopes, we were hoping to just get something delivered that was good enough. Mondo Italiano turned out to be some of the best Italian we have had in years. The meatball subs on homemade artisan rolls were incredible, the pizza was fresh and delicious, and the tira misu was off the charts.

We came here on a Sunday night when everything else in Taos was closed. They were very accommodating for our large party with kids. Food was excellent! I would highly recommend this place for families.

Service was admirably efficient, even on a Friday night. I had the grilled chicken and orzo. The dish was slightly heavy and salty but still tasty. My dining experience was pleasant enough, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to return. The mark up on restaurant pasta is generally high enough that it has to be exceptional for me to spend $ 14-​$ 16 on a dish, and I wasn’t overwhelmed in this case.

A night out without the kids, we went to Mondos, my wife had the pan roasted chicken, it was greasy and dry, my three meat, meatball sandwich was great… We also had the 6 wing app with the 2 alarm wing sauce. Delicious…

A great New York style Italian restaurant.
Everything is made in house and this is where I come for old fashioned Italian cuisine.
They even have Peroni beer on tap and my morherinlaw loves the half portions.
I saddened that I am here alone this evening and do not have room to add the calamari fritti to my lasagna bolognese and canolli
All in all a great place with fantastic food and wonderful music in the background
