Excellent lunch, great atmosphere/service. As a local business owner I’ll be recommending as a place for my clients to enjoy a positive dining experience.

In fairness, we didn’t eat here. However, I still had the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant. The hostess was downright condescending regarding our lack of reservation. She continued to say, «You could wait, but it’ll be quite some time before being seated.» Another party started walking through the door and, although I am sure she was trying to finished up with us, she was having this large party just stand there staring at us all with the door hanging open. We went elsewhere and we’re glad we didn’t give business to an establishment that clearly wasn’t going to be helpful.

The food was unexceptional, at best. I ordered the mixed seafood with pasta, and the dish came out with six clams(nice), three of which were unopened(inexcusable). My dinner companions had the trout and the salmon. Both were OK, but nothing to write home about. We wrote the place off, deciding eating at home was more satisfying than this place.

I recently ate here with my husband and our good friends after a long day at the slopes. It was the perfect, delicious meal we were looking for after a long day! The Ribeye was cooked excellently and the Lobster Mac was creamy and delicious. And don’t forget the signature margarita with fresh squeezed grapefruit juice. A definite refreshing must have. Service was excellent and attentive. Lovely ambiance. Will definitely return when back on Taos.

The food here is excellent! My wife and I came here with some of our friends and we were extremely pleased with our dishes. My wife had the Ribeye and I had the Lobster Mac & Cheese. The Ribeye was cooked to perfection, tasted delicious, and it was juicy. I have personally never had lobster mac & cheese, but I was very impressed. Our waiter Chris was excellent. He described the daily special well and he made sure that we were happy with our food and service. Next time we are in Taos, NM we will be paying another visit to Martyrs Steakhouse.

Arrived on my birthday, December 28th, at just past 7:00 pm. Was seated quickly, and ordered the prime rib, while my wife ordered the special, bone-in ribeye and shrimp. This was all before 7:15, so I also chose a bottle of wine to go with the meal. We talked and drank for over an hour with no sign of the food. Was finally able to flag down our waitress and she went to check. Next came the manager to let us know the meal was on the way. I don’t know how they were able to get the prime rib so tough, but it was. The offer of a free dessert wasn’t enough to entice us to stay any longer than two hours…

Great formal dinning experience! You only live once. Best Happy hour ever. Micheal was our server a great guy and not so bad on the eyes either. Suggested a terrific wine and dessert. Great choice Micheal.

The food was excellent. It was a delightful meal from beginning to end. Starting with the ambiance of the old house. Beautifully decorated interior, the entire staff was so pleasant, happy and accommodating. The cocktails, the bread, the wine list and the specials were great. Our entire evening was spot on!

We ate at three of the best restaurants in town, and found that each had it’s own flair. This was our third on the tour de best. We found the porch seating outstanding, and lighting excellent with an LED array that the waiter strapped onto the umbrella mount. I hate dully lit restaurants where you can’t see your food, or read the menu. Well lit!!! The menu had a variety of choices, and we found that it was our best meal in town. Appetizers were outstanding(recommend the calamari). Ambience was excellent, and our waiter was superb. I have eaten all over the world, and I must say, that as a high end steak restaurant goes, this place was tops. We will absolutely return on our next trip through.

They have a nice outdoor patio area that is dog friendly. They had two different specials, I think, but it was the waiter that had to explain it to you. Unfortunately, the way it was explained to me I wasn’t sure I understood him when he explained it. So instead of having him explain it to me repeatedly, I just picked what sounded good and hoped for the best. It would have been much better if they had the specials written out. Otherwise, the food was excellent and it turned out I got a steak and lobster tail(cut in half). Both was delicious and the steak was so tender I didn’t need a steak knife to cut it.

Such a beautiful new restaurant in Taos, NM. I have seen this place a few times while I was in town for work and I finally got a chance to stop. Not many places this unique in the area. Trust me their are plenty of New Mexican restaurants open for lunch but I was glad they were open for a change in food choices. The have their own parking, beautiful landscaping throughout the property, it is right off the main road so plenty of people driving by. We sat on their patio on this gorgeous day. Great service and clean on the patio. Dog friendly too. We ordered the Calamari with red Chile dipping sauce. It was delicious. I ordered the lunch special which was a prime rib sandwich with mushrooms and side salad. $ 9.00. It was so tasty and the meat paired with the mushrooms was a great choice. The inside was cozy and romantic. Great for a work lunch, date night, anniversary or drinks on the patio.

This place is a bit pricey, but we knew that going in($ 160 for 2 dinners and 3 drinks) I had beef tenderloin, which was cooked perfectly. My husband has the buffalo ribeye that was on special($ 48), which was tough and dry. I think that’s not uncommon with buffalo, but he was disappointed. The signature margarita is amazing. It’s a grapefruit margarita, which is the perfect summer drink! The service was great. The location is good(walking distance from many condos, hotels, and the plaza).

Bad. Not up to standards. Poor service/overpriced and low quality food. It will be a long uphill road for these guys.

The name is befitting the restaurant as all the staff seemed like martyrs or as the Japanese say heroines of misery. We got their early around 5pm and there was clearly plenty of room for us. The hostess(now known as Cruella) was completely unfriendly and immediately asked us if we had a reservation. When I said no she looked at me as if I had just passed wind on her grandmother. She then of course seated us at the worst table she could find. The waiter never made an attempt to engage us in anything but ordering conversation. When I am spending a little more for dinner I enjoy some banter. The experience is just as important as the food. Speaking of the food it was actually good and we enjoyed our meal. When I go to Chuckee Cheese I prepare myself to find a dirty diaper or two. Conversely when I spend the money and go to Disneyland I want a magical experience for that extra cash I am laying down. The engagement by staff is what makes you stay around and want to order dessert of which we were never offered. I assumed we were being rushed out for the dinner slan but when we left there were still plenty of empty tables. Don’t worry yourself Cruella we made room for your non existent reservations. The only comparison I can draw between Martyrs and Disneyland is that they are both Mickey Mouse operations…

I found this restaurant on Unilocal when we were driving home from Breckenridge last week-it had great reviews so being it was Saturday night, i called & made a reservation for their beautiful patio. We arrived & were seated pretty quick. Live band playing across the street at a concert made for a perfect evening –it was our lucky night:) I ordered the cucumber basil gimlet which got me off to a great start-husband ordered the Martyr’s signature marguerita. We ordered ½ doz oysters then later, entrees. The server accidentally delivered our oysters to a table beside us-so the entrees came out w/our appetizers.(The oysters were delicious, by the way, and served with a mignonette!) Our wonderful waitress was mortified and quickly moved to rectify the problem-without our knowing, she had the manager reduce our drinks to happy hour prices, then took the oysters off our bill! We were very appreciative at the quick action & continued to enjoy an amazing meal. I ordered the Ribeye(came with this scrumptious portobello cream sauce!) Garlic mashed & beautifully presented with different steamed vegetables-hubby ordered the special filet & lobster! It was superb. We both enjoyed a glass of Argentinian Malbec with our steaks. This restaurant is top-notch –great for date night, or what/whenever! I should have written this a few days ago, because now I cant remember our waitress’ name but i am pretty sure it was Erin. If i were a food critic… the only thing i would recommend would be they use hardwood charcoal for their steaks(but I’m a little picky since I grill on a hasty bake!) We will return next time we are in Taos!

We’re longtime Taos vacationers. The Martyrs happy hour menu indicates«drinks $ 2.00 off.» Got the bill and the drinks were regular price. The person that served us said«Woops.» Honest mistake? Well this same person did the same thing almost exactly a year ago to the day. You know who you are. That said, my hamburger was good although my wife’s was well done instead of medium rare. Hence, the two stars.

Stopped here or an early dinner without reservations. The inside area is super cute and loved the fireplace. The bread they bring out to the table is AMAZING! Warm and delicious, it had some rosemary on it. It was super good! I also had a gin drink which was pretty tasty. I ordered the lobster bisque and it was good, but the cup is super small! They did have pretty big chunks of lobster though! I think I would maybe get a bowl if I went back and just have that as my meal. I ordered the steak tartar for my main course. I think they could use a different presentation it looked kind of gross when it was delivered. However; it was really tasty with capers in it. They had a bacon aioli which was tasty as well. Overall I think this was a pretty good restaurants but it was a bit pricey in my opinion.

Today we were 6 Adults and 3 Children, we had Lunch and these are my comments: We asked for Mac & Cheese, Burgers, Cesar Salad with Chicken, Shrimp Tempura and some appetizers. Food Quality: One word: AMAZING, very good quality, perfect temperature, great taste. Portions: Very well served for an adult, we even split the Mac & Cheese plate for the kids, the Shrimps are big and tasty but maybe they could add a little bit more salad to compliment better. Service: Our server was Tania and she managed to do a FANTASTIC job, everything was served in a very reasonable time, with good temperature and a fantastic attitude from her. Price: We paid $ 8 per plate and I don’t think you can beat that anywhere else. I really encourage everybody to go and give them a try, we find this place on our way to downtown and we were so pleased with the full experience.

We stopped here after visiting the Kit Carson house to get a bite to eat before heading back down to Santa Fe. We got a nice shady seat on the patio, ordered a beer and glass of wine and took a look at the menu. A few minutes later, another person came to ask again what it was we wanted to drink — Oh, we already gave our order. Yeah, well, she’s new and didn’t actually understand what we requested. OK… a little more training would be helpful. As it turned out, our new waitress had been a bus-girl and was being promoted, so she did have a lot to still learn, and was to be spending the next few days working and learning the bar. So forgiven. And kudos to the owners for promoting within! My husband had the Steak Tartare($ 15.00) that is served with a Bacon Aioli. He loved it, the meat was perfectly chopped and seasoned. I had the Sriracha Glazed Chicken Skewer($ 13.00) served on a bed of bright yellow Basmati rice. It was spicy and good. Perfect with my Pinot Grigio. While they have a parking lot, it’s rather challenging as you only have one way to enter/exit and all the parking spaces are set for easy access on entry, but not so much to back out and exit. Just saying. But free parking is good parking. LindySez: A nice fall day in a beautiful city enjoying some good food.
