Great food. Very bad customer service. Every time and I’m not kidding every time they always give me the wrong order. I always have to go back. I don’t live far but its crazy to have to to this every time. Do not recommend going there if your in a hurry and don’t have time to go back and get the right order.

Don’t be fooled by the surroundings. These guys know how to make a great basic breakfast. I had 2 eggs over medium with bacon, hash browns and toast. Sounds so simple, but most people don’t take the care to do it right. Manty’s does. The eggs were cooked perfectly and they were HOT, as they always should be! The hashbrowns were crispy and not too greasy. The bacon was good too. The toast thick and substantial. I can’t speak for anything else on the menu, but I can’t say enough good things about the basic breakfast at this not so fancy place. Yum!

Family owned restaurant with traditional Northern New Mexican food. A local favorite, great breakfast burritos, burgers, dogs, frito pies, something for everyone.

This place might be cheap but it’s not even worth the money if you are a vegetarian. A burrito with sour cream and guacamole was 6 dollars for a burrito that was tiny and don’t even make me full and they skimped on the guacamole and sour cream which cost extra. Wouldn’t recommend this spot if you don’t eat meat

Dear Unilocal, please add more stars, five is not enough! Trujillos are the star attraction but if you’re feeling adventurous the all chicharon burrito is aces. I’d ask if they could make a Trujillo chicharone burrito but I’m afraid the explosion of deliciousness would make the world implode. How can one small place be so good and so affordable? Conspiracy theorists might start talking…

A guidebook I read about Arizona gave this place four stars and one dollar sign. I have never seen a restaurant that got more stars than dollar signs, let alone four to one. Mante’s delivered. My husband and kids loved this place. Very authentic, home cooked meals. Very down to earth in an unfortunately gentrified part of the state.

Fast service, delicious, nice-sized portions. On a Thursday at 130pm, I was second on line. Took less than 5 minutes to receive hot Trujillo burrito. Delicious and nicely sized. Has a family feel with young people doing most if the work. Got it to go but plenty of space to sit. Happy I found this place, thank fellow Unilocalers!

I would like to give this place a 2 based on my burrito but the bf gives the tacos a 5 so there had to be some compromise. Ordered beef and bean burrito and was asked if i wanted sauce on it to which i said yes. my burrito was like that from taco bell however worse. no sauce, no cheese, no sour cream, rice or lettuce. just beans and beef in shell. Very disappointing. also had frito pie. it was like chile sauce with melted cheese in a bowl with fritos in it. just okay. stayed with me for a while in stomache. bf had chicken tacos. they were good. shredded chix and hard shells. hard shells seemed hard to come by in new mexico so this was good news. but would only go back for tacos not burritos or frito pie.

Tasty local spot, chicharon burrito is good. The stuffed sopapilla(sp?) however was not really that impressive. The atmosphere of the sit down area was too much like a fast food restaurant which was a bit of a turnoff. I’ll have to keep looking for the best place to get breakfast burritos in Taos.

Found out about Mante’s on Unilocal. It’s a fast food format but don’t be fooled. This is really good local food. Ideal for a quick meal on the way back from a Wal Mart run because the service is fast enough to keep up with take out window orders. It’s completely different that the Guadlahara or Orlandos, and excellent in it’s own way.

Breakfast burritos are HUGE. My sis-in-law and I split one bacon, egg and cheese and it was plenty, although my hubs won the flavor contest. He added chorizo to his bacon, egg, cheese and green chile. Ohhhh, so bad but soooo good. The price is right and the service is quick. A good stop on your way to the slopes.

I got the inside scoop on this place and it was a great tip. I asked the young lad for a recommendation and it looks like the Trujillo is a winner. Great flavor and not too hot(Spicey). Thick fries and a drink for $ 7 is pretty good around here. This place won’t won awards for decode but when the food is the name of the game taste trumps atmosphere. Well done and worth the stop. They even gave me the password for the WiFi which was a bonus.

Find a better breakfast burro, or breakfast period. I dare you. The house coffee is Piñón, they generally have Kona too. Two of my fave coffees. Breakfast burrito = red or green chile, or xmas, hash browns(really what separates this burro, gives it crunch) egg, and chorizo = my fave.

I’m not sure exactly what was in a Trujillo burrito, but it was a little bit creamy, a little bit crunch, savory, and sweet. Paired with thick cut fries and a huge drink, it was a super tasty dinner for only $ 7. Its not going to get any points for ambiance(unless you appreciate the fact it appears it was an old Krispy Kreme donuts shop), but I recommend ignoring the décor and eating some tasty grub.

The Trujillo burrito is other worldly. Nice and neat, not like the sloppy(albeit delicious) burritos in CA. The flavor and texture is superb. Whenever I’m in Taos, I make sure to stop here.

Tried to stop at Michael’s Kitchen but apparently it’s closed until 12/11, so we took a trip down the road to find something else. Happened upon Chow Cart and noticed it had a steady stream of cars going through the drive-thru and a huge sign on the window that said«BREAKFAST.» I had the breakfast burrito with red sauce and the girl had a bacon, egg and hash brown plate. My burrito was great – filled with eggs, bacon, hash browns and cheese along with a little bit of red sauce. The girl’s breakfast was about the same as mine, minus the tortilla. Her special said it came with one egg, but there were easily three on the plate. Stop here if you’re looking for a quick and tasty breakfast!

Summer 1999: During our night in Taos, we made sure to stop at the truck, based on the recommendation of a friend. Pretty much every stop we made on the trip was based on this guy’s recommendation and he did not lead us wrong, whether it was this taco truck or the Tuba City Truck Stop for Navajo tacos. Thanks, Jon! We ate burritos, tacos and I think I tried the frito pie. Definitely no frills but everything was great and definitely worth the stop.

This used to be an old UPS truck, which Mante himself turned into a drive-in New Mexican food joint. Now it’s restaurant with a roof and doors. The food has gone downhill since my youth(and since the UPS truck days), but I still go back for the bean and green chili burrito(much smaller than you’d think –more like a homemade taco bell burrito) and frito pie served with red chili, onions and cheese in a cut open fritos bag. Yum!
