Charlie is the best — helped fit me for my first pair of cowboy boots. So much great stuff, vintage boots too. Could tell from the locals who stopped by to pick up things while I was there that she’s the real deal. Best thing on Kit Carson in Taos.

Wow! Lots of great stuff. The owner is very knowledgeable and even friendlier than that. A great selection of Western memorabilia, boots, and clothing. Even if you don’t think this is your type of store, go. Seriously. It’s a hoot.

Entering the store two kids in tow I was drawn to the acoustic guitar standing upright on its own in the middle of the worn uneven wooden floor with a pick resting on the body by the neck. Staring at it in the middle of old western heaven, Lindsey the cowboy magician came out and greeted the kids with magic and prizes. Hats off to cowboy Lindsey.

So these boots previously referenced in the original review are AMAZING. I wear them several times a week and they are super comfortable. I recently walked through ankle-deep wet cement in them(in my defense, it had just been poured and was not roped off). The construction worker offered me a hose to wash them off and my socks got neither wet nor cement-y. These boots are well-made – Nocona is the brand and I believe I paid $ 75 for them.

Coolest place with the coolest owner. All kinds of quirky, one-of-a-kind items. A must-go hit if you’re traveling through Taos.

The owner was super nice!!! Greeted me with a nice Texas drawl. The price are really low for an antique shop. Lot’s of western memorabilia. Right next door to Kit Carson Museum If you are into knife collecting. This is THE place in Taos. The knife motherlode is to the left of the store. The owner loves knives as well. and he will negotiate on prices. I walked out with a few old knives for under 30 bucks…
