My favorite in the area. Good friendly service. Food portions and prices are very good. Pizza pies are a 10 on the yummy scale. Restaurant is on the snowmobile trail. 5*‘s

Coming here on and off for 5 years. Two things are always true, food is pretty good, service is lousy. If you’re not in a hurry you might like it.

Great burgers, kids love the Mac and cheese, pizza looked good thin crust 18″ pizza. Always liked stopping here while snowmobiling

Terrible experience. Waited half hour for the waitress to bring out our food. When she finally came the entire order was wrong and the food she did bring was overcooked and burnt. Left without waiting for our real orders to even come out.

Excellent food is the first words that come to mind when I think about this restaurant! The White Lake Tavern really impressed me. My family and I were visiting Madison, NH and stumbled upon this place. We were very hungry and tired from our trip to NH and all we wanted to do was EAT!
We were seated promptly and ordered drinks immediately. My boyfriend and I got the homemade mac n’ cheese, which was mouthwatering! Other members of the group ordered chicken parmesan, steak tips with corn and fries, and a hamburger (also with fries). Everyone loved their meal, and the hamburger was particularly good!
The only reason I did not give the White Lake Tavern five stars is because the wait for our food was a bit long. Our group talked for about half an hour to forty-​five minutes after ordering before we started to wonder where our food was. Thankfully, the delicious food made up for the long wait! Additionally, the food portions were hearty and everything seemed quite fresh. The food quality of this restaurant is superb, and the prices were more than fair, if not on the cheap side!
Overall my family very much enjoyed our trip to the White Lake Tavern. Highly recommend stopping here for a good meal!
UPDATE: My family and I decided to go back to the White Lake Tavern and we had another excellent meal! I got the scallops and I highly recommend it to everyone who enjoys seafood!

Way overpriced and not very good at all. We ordered «honey BBQ» wings as an appetizer and were received 6 wings on a plate that looked and tasted like they came out of a frozen package of food bought at SAMs club. They were simply dropped in to be fried with no sauce. The «honey BBQ» was a dipping sauce. Did I mention it was $ 8 for this? Next up: steak tips. They were ok but for $ 16 do you really have to charge me an extra $ 2 to get a salad that barely filled a tea cup saucer sized plate? «Vegetable of the day» with this meal: Canned carrots that were brown. Doesn’t «of the day» imply something fresh from that day? Overall a terrible experience. I would never return and I doubt most people would.

We’ve lived in the area now for almost a year and have sampled nearly every restaurant in the valley. Tonight we tried the dining room at the White Lake. Here is how it went.
First impression: Dated décor. Friendly staff. Refreshingly cold air conditioning.
We arrived at the restaurant before dark and were seated in the main dining room. The waitress promptly took our drink orders (water) and we sat for a bit chatting. Drinks came, we ordered our dinners and waited a reasonable amount of time before they arrived.
While we waited I used the mens room. Extremely dated but functional. When I returned to the table I noticed nearly every light bulb in the dining area was flickering. I realized they have CFL bulbs in the recessed cans! As far as I know, if the cans are not rated for CFLs there is a potential for a fire hazard. At the least, the flickering was annoying.
My wife ordered their seafood platter (shrimp, scallops, and fish with a baked potato and peas). Her potato was not cooked all the way through and peas were inedible. For the money she only had two shrimp, five nickel sized scallops, and a moderate piece of fish. All very bland and rubbery.
I ordered the baked haddock (with baked potato and peas). My peas were also inedible (canned and waxy). My fish was descent but I received mashed instead of the baked potato. I asked and was given a baked potato.
The food was not impressive in the least. The only positive part of the experience was the friendly wait staff. We will not be returning.

Most impressive… It’s not a five star restaurant but the food is shockingly good. One of the staples I will order to like compare a restaurant with another is chicken Marsala… Done well it can be a wonderful classic dish… Done marginally and it is chicken and some mushrooms. I was floored to tell you it was the best Marsala I have ever encountered… Just wish there was a bit more sauce.

Staff is great, food is fantastic… ambiance is casual. Tuesdays are 25 cent wing night! Stay tuned.

the food is top notch… and if you dont see it on the menu just ask and they will see if they can make it for you!!! really i asked about having lobster mac wasnt on the menu and they made me the best and i mean «the best» lobster mac ever!!! the drinks are mixed well not too strong not too weak!!!
they also offer a vip card for deals for only $ 5 it def pays for itself!!! well it did for us …i actually will drive right past conway and drive the extra 20 miles to eat there!

Food is a cut above average; ambiance is two cuts below. If this tavern had a more upscale and updated ambiance, I would definitely give it a higher rating. The food, however, is absolutely fantastic and worth a trip. It’s the best pub-​fare south of the Conways on Route 16. Portions are generous. Ingredients are fresh. Everything is beautifully prepared and presented. Service is great, and prices are fair. Honestly, I had the best burger ever and I didn’t have to spend a fortune for it.

Hand cut fries, great chicken strips and wings… Real meals too! Love the pasta and steak was excellent. Decent prices, great service, a great bar. Like home without the work.
