I like the atmosphere, I ordered shrimp and fries, the shrimp coating was too thick and oily, the fries were excellent, ordered a philly steak for my son, he loved it, so I will give this place another chance and try it again, but not really impressed in my first visit.

As mentioned previously, I did not like this place based off a bad experience but was willing to give it another shot. Glad to say this place turned my opinion around for the better. The service has been much much better and so has the food. Shared the nacho appetizer as well as the fish n chips — they were good and portions were huge… Prob the biggest fish in a fish n chips dish I’ve ever seen. Good place to listen to live music or catch a game. I’m glad this place redeemed itself!

I came here a couple times(in March 2016) with some coworkers for our lunch break and after leaving the office. I heard it was a trendy place, and since it was within walking distance from our downtown Tampa office, we gave it a try. I ordered the Philly Steak Mac N Cheese($ 10.95). I have a special place in my heart for Philly cheesesteaks, so I was looking forward to this spin on mac n cheese. I asked to add sautéed onion to my dish, which did happen. However, I was disappointed in the amount of sautéed onion in the dish. On top of that, I was also disappointed in the amount of shaved rib eye steak meat. There were very few pieces, so to me the dish tasted like a normal plate of mac n cheese. The cheese was gooey and delicious, but the lack of meat did not make the dish worth $ 10.95. While I thought my dish was overpriced considering what I actually got on my plate, it still did taste good. Our waiter was great and the ambiance of the place is nice. While I’m not a drinker, my coworkers have said the beer here is great. Overall, I give Yeoman’s a thumbs-up!

Love this bar. It’s a great place to go after hockey games. We stopped by here on our bikes after watching a Lightning game and the place was hoping. I really appreciated how attentive and hard working the bar tenders were. Even though the place was packed, it didn’t take long to get a drink. They have lots of great beer on tap, in bottles and they’re full liquor. I also ordered a burger that was amazing. The have sweet potato fried that are delicious. We stayed to see Forrest play live, which I heard he will be there regularly on Saturday nights now. Bottom line: great atmosphere, great service, great food, great drinks.

We knew we going to be in town for a competition, so I did some research for solace that could handle a group our size(about 40 people). Knowing that was tall task for a Friday night, I made several calls until I got to Tara. She was super easy to work with and when she told me our group would be easy to handle, I was skeptical. We showed up at our reservation time and they had everything ready. Our kids got their own section, and the adults got theirs. We made it difficult by asking for separate checks and they handled it like champs. Service was outstanding for a group our size and the food was excellent. Not one single complaint from the group regarding either. We were in and out in a reasonable time and really enjoyed our experience. If we are in Tampa again, we will definitely be back as this place is well run with quality eats. In fact, we may even be back there on this trip!

This place was a total surprise and far exceeded my expectations. We shared a pretzel bites appetizer with cheese dipping sauce that was stupendous. Probably the best pretzel appetizer I have had anywhere. I had a salad with blueberry vinaigrette that was amazing. It could have been a meal by itself if I had added a protein. I got the fish and chips which was excellent. The blackberry bramble cocktail was a favorite. I liked it so much I decided to have the gin cocktail with juniper berries for dessert. I wish I could get that gin cocktail at home. Our service was impeccable. Out of all the places I ate in Tampa over four days, this spot was my favorite for grub and for spirits.

How haven’t I been here before? This place is everything I need! Great atmosphere, a bar that’s inside/outside feel, beautiful décor inside and outside, amazing happy hour, and really good food! My hubby and I decided to check out the happy hour as we decided to explore the south Tampa scene. We came here on a Friday from 4 – 5:30pm and were amazed by how new everything was and the happy hour deals are off the chart! 2 $ off from 3−5pm then ½ off EVERYTHING during the ‘London Fog’ from 5−6pm! We already had dinner plans so we enjoyed it so much we came back the very next day. Oh and they also have happy hour from 11 – 4 on Saturdays!!! It was jammed pack with lightning fans which was great to see! Only had to wait 30 minutes for a table inside. We ordered the pretzel sticks with beer cheese sauce, mustard, and ranch! Best pretzel sticks I’ve ever had! They were so soft and delicious! Next I ordered the fish and chips which was a $ 10 special on Saturdays. The portion was huge and I loved how the fish fry wasn’t too well done. It was light and crispy just how I like it. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious. My only complaint is that the fish was served on top of my fries which made some of them soggy but Other than that it was really good! My husband and our friend ordered the burgers and they were perfectly cooked and yummy! The service was great and look forward to coming back here for the awesome happy hour, food, and place to hang out before and after games!

*Awesome accommodating, and friendly staff *Great atmosphere *Large menu *appetizers of wings, and nachos were pretty tasty *Decent selection of local and other beers. Stocked with Ace Pineapple cider, and two others that aren’t the standard Angry Orchard every typical place offers. When I go somewhere I look for what that establishment offers that is different. This place definitely offers variety from their menu to style to drink orders. I’m going to go back, and this review will become a 5 if my experience is just as grand. The apps weren’t over the top impressive to me, but they also weren’t my choice.

I have to give props to the management team: this place seems to finally have worked out the issues I encountered previously. The biggest improvement has come with the service. I enjoy grabbing a bite to eat here now, especially the BLT, which is delicious. I also love the thick-cut steak fries. The appetizer menu has a lot to choose from, which is good during a happy hour or before catching a game.

Been here a few times for brunch and have had mixed experiences. Drinks: bottomless mimosas or bloody mary’s for $ 10! first time I came the cups were refilled quickly and without having to ask, which was wonderful. Second time the waitress was very busy with other tables and I didn’t feel like I was able to get the same bang for my $ 10 during the time I was there. Food: The brunch menu is the same as the regular menu, which I think is one place the restaurant could improve. They have sandwiches available, but I would have preferred to have more breakfasty options(omelettes, waffles, etc). The sandwiches were good and the sizes are pretty big. They come with a side as well, my favorite is the sweet potatoes. I personally am not a huge fan of the bread they use, but I think that’s just because I’m more of a crusty bread person and they use a softer, fluffy bread. Another reason I’d prefer more breakfast foods! Service: As mentioned above, hit or miss. First trip we had excellent service. Second trip, they were clearly understaffed and were still setting up even after their official opening time. Atmosphere: Big, open, and spacious place with lots of TVs, a bar counter, and plenty of tables. The décor is British themed with some memerobilia and lots of soccer jerseys up on the walls. They also have a very large, gorgeous patio that I definitely want to try next time! Overall: I would try it again sometime for drinks/dinner or even brunch, but am not exactly in a rush to go again. If my next experience is less than great, I’d probably start looking for a new gastropub to check out.

The traditional English breakfast is amazing, the beer wine and cocktails list is vast. The music was the white stripes, cage the elephant, and gnarls Barkley. We had the pretzels for an appetizer and it was delicious with double the cheese sauce. It was loud with red bricks and stained wood everywhere, great ambiance. Your time and money will be well spent at Yeoman’s.

I never had a chance to visit the former Yeoman’s on Davis Island, but since this spot was downtown near other places– I wanted to give it a shot. This is a modern pub with a great layout– large open dining area with a sidebar with a joined outdoor bar that has rollup garage doors for the nice days we have. I like the concept because you could dine inside without the loud bar scene or you could get a little loud outside without worrying about disturbing those dining– either way. I was most surprised by the menu– it is large and has a lot of great choices that made me say«I want to come back and try that.» This isn’t your typical bar/pub food in a normal drinking establishment. I think this will be my new favorite spot downtown for dinner and drinks.

Wondered in before a hockey game because our usual place was too packed and we knew this was recently opened. We were seated inside right away. I love what they’ve done to the place and it is much improved over Gilligan’s. I would have given it 4 stars if the service had been better and if they had been able to make the drink my boyfriend wanted off of the menu(they no longer carry one of the ingredients. .. I understand not printing new menus, but put a sticker over that item so people don’t get disappointed when they try to order it). It was a Sat so no happy hour, not sure of the usual happy hour. They have a «fun» selection of cocktails inspired by famous Brits. I had a Sting with ruby red vodka, club soda and jalapeño for $ 8. It was tasty and I considered the Ringo as well, but switched to beer. .. maybe another night. They have a nice list of beers by the bottle and on tap. On Sat they have the fish & chips and shepherd’s pie on special. We were intrigued by the coconut curry wings and fish & chips and decided to split them. It was a good portion of fish & chips. The fish was awesome as was the home made tartar sauce. They should not put the fish on the chips(fries) as they got soggy, booo. The coleslaw was nothing to write home about. The wings were amazing and I would go back just for them. They fry them and then press them on a grill and they are super crunchy with amazing flavor(drool). My only wish is that the service was better. I guess in time or perhaps if they do training it will. Either way I will probably return. Enjoy!

From reading the Unilocal reviews, I realize this is a fairly new restaurant. We were actually headed to another restaurant when we rode by this one and were intrigued by the exterior and outside bar. This is SUCH a cute, well decorated and inviting space. We were seated immediately with a warm greeting and opted for some local beers on tap. The menu has many traditional and nontraditional items to chose from. I ordered the Spotted Hen which consists of breaded chicken topped with goat cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, fresh mushrooms atop mashed potatoes. I absolutely loved this dish. One recommendation I would back would be to advertise this is made with dark meat chicken instead of white. but this little detail made no difference on how much I truly enjoyed this dish. My husband went traditional and ordered fish and chips. WOW the fish was huge. it was nice and creamy, everything you would expect. my daughter ordered grilled cheese, nothing special there except they do add marscapone cheese. Overall we really enjoyed our experience from the service to the atmosphere to the food. We will definitely return.

Some friends and I came here for Burger week, and had the Manchester burger. I really like this restaurant, it has a nice theme and excellent décor. We came for lunch, and it was pretty busy. Luckily, no one was at the bar outside, so that’s where we set up shop. The service between finding us the seating we wanted, and the service at the bar outside was super! During burger week, the featured burger, which was the Manchester Burger in this case, is on special for $ 5. The Manchester Burger is a blackened patty, with bleu cheese, bacon, mushrooms, and creole mustard, served on a pretzel roll. The patty was juicy and flavorful. The bacon was good, but not real crispy. The mushrooms were fresh & sautéed adding a nice aroma. The creole mustard was mild and complimented the other flavors nicely. The pretzel roll was soft and delicious. My only complaint about the burger was the blue cheese. It was more like a blue cheese dressing than blue cheese crumbles. Either way, it was fantastic and the best burger of Burger Week so far! The burger came with a pickle, not a gherkin, but a six inch garden cucumber pickled & fermented, and cut into a spear. The color was a smooth seafoam green. It was nice & firm, and had a crunch to it loud enough wake a baby. There was a good balance of salty & sour, and refreshing enough eat two or three. Overall, a great restaurant was great food, service and pickles.

Solid place. Great beer selection! Good service. One of the better establishments in downtown tampa. The renovations done to this place make it clean, comfortable and feels warm and cozy inside. Top food pics: Burgers and sandwiches. My favorite BLT or adult gourmet grilled cheese. Chicken wings, they call Cambridge wings, are great! They do put a honey drizzle on the sweet potato fries so if you don’t like that tell your server when ordering. 8TV’s for American football or football(soccer) viewing. They open early for soccer games.

This is a relatively new location in downtown Tampa. I went here recently for a networking event. it was my first time here. I ended up mingling in the back reserved area. Therefore, I didn’t really get any food from here. That would be a time for an updated review. I did, however, partake in the drinks. They do have a decent selection of craft and domestic beers. This is also a full bar pub. The decour here is amazing. Beautiful wood finishing everywhere and a lovely lighting fixtures. I wish I took a picture of this place when I was here the first time. This is a very comfortable environment. At the time I was here, it was after work during the work week so the demographic was more on the business casual side. I hope to make it here again so I can provide a more thorough review.

So far, I’m liking the new location and most of the ambiance. I did not spend any time in the outside bar, but inside, the new trendy, sleek look is cool, spacious and all brand spankin’ new. The night I went was on a Tuesday, it was the first night they started Open Mic Night again. And it was great! A little speaker/sound tweaking is all it took, although the outside speakers were fuzzy. Not sure if they need to be replaced or just adjusted. I had the classic Philly Cheesesteak. The same one they made on the island. And when I mentioned to Bondo that’s what we had and was just as good as it used to be, he was so proud and told me he made sure to train them(even with a video) so that it wouldn’t lose what was so special about it. I really liked it! The bar could be a little more English-authentic. But overall, it’s a great bar. Unfortunately, I’m not happy with the cider selection and ended up with a Hoegaarden. Next time, I’ll dig deeper for something a little less popular… I mean, they do have(or had) hundreds of beers! What happened to the Wall of Foam? I wonder. There were a lot of people in there on this Tuesday night. I sure do hope it can keep it’s island-like neighborhood feel like it used to. There did seem to be quite of few of the olé regulars, but also new folks. What was great about the old location was the varied mix of people. I think(and hope) this new spot will still maintain that mix. Will be coming back again and again!

It was a time for celebration. Emilio M. finally bought a car! I’m not a chauffeur anymore! Naturally, we needed to cruise around and check out the new ride. Also, it was nearing the time of the evening feeding, so why not venture out to an unfamiliar restaurant? Emilio M. works near downtown Tampa, so he had become pretty familiar with the eateries. He recently tried a new English Restaurant and Pub, open for about a month. The restaurant is actually a re-branding of Yeoman’s Road Pub, formerly of Davis Island. It is now located on Morgan Street, a few blocks from Amalie Arena. I was a bit skeptical about the thought of British food, because I tend to think of it as weird, or just not what I’m used to. I’m a picky one. However, part of the re-brand is including some American-style options. The outside does not look like much, although there are British«guards» at the patio entrance, but the inside is very nicely decorated, with bar seating, as well as tables and half booths, and an outside patio area. Another décor choice I liked was the use of wood throughout. I think it gave the place more of a pub feel. As for pub entertainment, there are about four large TVs above the bar. We were seated right away, and delved into the menu. First off, I ordered one of their red wines, which was good for the price. We decided to try the Union Jack Nachos(Fresh Fried Potato Chips, Topped with Tender Pot Roast, Pepper Jack Cheese, and Finished with Tomatoes, Jalapenos, and Cilantro Sour Cream Sauce). Our server warned it was the size of a small child, and he wasn’t kidding. It was huge, but delicious! That could have been our entire meal. It wasn’t, though. I ordered The Underground(Grilled Chicken, Covered with Sautéed Spinach, Feta Cheese, Red Onion and Sun Dried Tomato Mayonnaise, Served on a Brioche Bun). It was nice and juicy, and the mayo was yummy. I got their regular fries as my side, which were similar to steak fries, and my companion got the sweet potatoes fries. Emilio got The HMS Belfast(Toasted Sandwich with Buffalo Shrimp, Mascarpone Cheese, Provolone Cheese and Fresh Leeks). He enjoyed the crispy buttery-ness of the bread. They also offer greens(salads), pub grub, toasted sandwiches, and traditional English faire. Our server was great. He was personable and helpful, and we did not have much wait time. The entire staff was friendly, and seemed genuinely cheerful. I would definitely go back.
