Wasn’t even in the mood for pizza, got the Bianca and was blown away. The crust is so soft, I wish I could go every day!

Got the large palombino pizza, is supposed to be one of their best. I wanted to splurge and get a cannoli for $ 6 it better be one of the best damned cannolis of my life. The pizza was average-at-best, very thin and sparse. Was not impressed. The cannolis were a f****** joke. Two tiny ass cannoli that were oversold by the waitress. And they weren’t even good. I live less than a mile away and I will never be going here again.

This review is based off my personal opinion and my experience in regards to my personal expectations. My family and I decided to try this place out yesterday since we are new to the area. We went around 6pm on a Monday. As we walk in it looks clean and a decent size. There was only one other table with people. When we walked in we didnt know if we could seat ourselves or wait for a hostess. We stood there looking confused for maybe a minute or so and a girl who was sitting in the back at a table got up and then told us we could choose a seat. She was very friendly and sweet. We ordered the Bacon, Egg & Cheese wedges which were really good. We also ordered the hummus which came with Garlic wedges– these were also good. For our pizza we ordered the Michelangelo and added meatballs. Overall the pizza was delicious. It had a great flavor, however, the crust was super thin and soggy and the topping fell off really easily because it was flimsy. The crust was good but with burnt spots(which can be common with woodfired pizza). The overall fell of the restaurant on that Monday night was pretty quiet. I felt as though we needed to be quiet. I hear they show the UFC fights there so Im assuming it might have a different feel on those nights. I might try it again. The only thing I really didnt care for was when we first arrived I saw a man standing in front of the entrance smoking and after we sat down I noticed it was the guy making the food. He may or may not have washed his hands… I don’t know because I didnt see it. Overall, an ok place for pizza.

Such good pizza! We’re from out of town and happened to stumble upon it. It’s a small place hidden in a plaza but has so much to offer. The staff is great and the food comes out so quickly. The garlic wedges are simple yet so tasteful and the pizza is great. Would definitely recommend!

We love this place. It has a unique atmosphere that can cater to children — the pizza chef welcomes children observers of all ages that are fascinated by the wood fired oven and adults that are looking for that upscale, happening type of evening, as well. The pizza is excellent and served piping hot. We have also had the fresh salads including the career salad — the tomatoes were pefe to firm and ripe.(I am a tomato snob, and mushy, overripe or underripe tomato can ruin a meal.) We enjoy this restraint. The owner, Pete, is always around, and he knows us by name. I’m getter by hungry just writing this.

A very good wood fired pizza. Several beer and wine selections. My only complaint is the pizza sizes are considerably smaller than I expected. Great atmosphere and very large screen to watch the ball games. I’ve been here a few times now and enjoy the changing beer selection.

Forget CiCi’s— come here for your endless pizza!!! We went here for their lunch buffet. It is such a great deal for $ 9.99. There are about 2 pizzas at a time so you know it’s fresh! We didn’t have to wait long for the next pizzas to come out. We tried cheese and pepperoni, cheese and sausage, cheese and spinach, and a white pizza. All were delicious! My favorite was the white pizza which was like olive oil, ricotta cheese. Will definitely be back again! Service was great and very friendly.

Cool place. Yummy wood fired pizza. The lunch buffet is good but go with lots of peeps so you can try lots of different ones. Or just get the Big Sexy off the menu. It’s great. This place is something special!!! Pizza like nowhere else. Delicious. *Special note: I didn’t LOVE their meat lover’s pizza. The veg options, riccota, arugula and pistachio special combos are where they SHINE for me.

Delicious wood fired pizza in a great cozy environment. Good craft beer and wine selection. Had the hummus as an app and the Raquel pizza. Both were perfect from my perspective. Can tell this place is a labor of love… great food and service.

This will be the easiest 5+++ star review I’ve ever been glad to give. First off, I used the Unilocal reservation system for the first time and it was great so great that even after we arrived early and our amazing server, Daniel sat us at a nice quiet table up front, I told Daniel we had a reservation which he went and informed the owner and Pizza Zen master Peter, he came out and greeted us and stated that he had reserved a special table in the back just for us. Talk about feeling special! One thing that is refreshing and special is that not just our server Daniel was checking on our experience and how our food tastes, EVERYONE that worked there asked about our experience. So we started with oven fired meatballs that come in a iron frying pan, immersed in a delightful tomato sauce and draped in an in-house mozzarella that was such a nice touch. The difference is noticeable. We mopped up the sauce with garlic wedges comprised of wood fired pizza dough with thinly sliced garlic and sea salt. It’s absolute heaven. My beautiful wife enjoyed a nice glass of Sangria. And here is the difference with this fine establishment. There was a miscommunication where Daniel thought we both wanted a Sangria so he brought 2 glasses to the table when I pointed this out to Daniel I expected that glass to disappear at light speed but what kind of class act Daniel provided by sliding that glass over to my wife and offered an apology with a smile. That’s so amazing in this day and age. Thank you Daniel and Peter. So on to the main event. The pizza. We ordered the Carnivore with pepperoni, sausage, & meatball and we added the hand dipped NY-style ricotta. I could write for an hour on just the crust and ricotta alone. The crust was light inside a slight crisp on the outside and not too smoky. The ricotta was light and smooth and left me with a slight sweet cream aftertaste. The slices of sausage were juicy and light and not overbearing with a nice crispy casing around the edges. Every step of this meal, this experience was perfect. The best part of our dining experience was watching Peter work that brick oven that he built with his own 2 hands. This guy is passionate about every pizza and every customer as he is multi tasking by roasting pies all the while scanning the dining room and watching the reactions of his customers to make sure they are all happy and properly taken care of. You rarely see that in establishments anymore. Now to top all of this off, we experienced the smoothest silkiest tiramisu for dessert. It’s been a long time since I’ve walked into ANY business and left feeling like family. I would put Peter up against ANY other owner or manager in the Tampa area in ANY business when it comes to providing a perfect product on every level and a perfect customer and dining experience that exceeds his guests expectations. Peter the word you need to get used to hearing sir is «Perfect». Thank you again for an amazing date night experience.

This place is amazing! I was a bit skeptical at first because a lot of people were raving about their lunch deal. Its $ 9.99 for a pizza buffet. $ 9.99? That sounded to good to be true. We arrived right when they opened and got seated. The inside of the restaurant is pretty small but cozy, they don’t have a kitchen but a bar and a giant wood fired oven. The chef was making pizzas quickly and the oven could fit 4 – 6 pizzas. He makes all of the pizzas by himself and you can definitely taste the difference! I expected the pizza in the lunch buffet to not taste that great, but I was blown away by how fresh the ingredients were and the rich taste. My boyfriend and I kept going back for seconds, thirds, and fourths! They serve only certain kinds of pizza during lunch. At the time, they had a meat lover’s, pepperoni, and mushroom pizza to name a few. You definitely get more than what you pay for(I had 10 slices!). They make sure at least 2 pizzas are out for the buffet while they cook more. But you have to hurry before they’re gone! I would definitely recommend this place for lunch!

Went here for a friend’s birthday. There were fifteen of us and still the service was great and everyone was attended to. We got the garlic wedges and the pizza Lydia along with a wine that was recommended. Bought a couple of bottles to take back home as well. Enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and service thoroughly. Would recommend this place to everyone!

We found this pizza place after leaving Busch Gardens and it was excellent. Located in a small strip mall near the USF campus, they are baking some delicious wood fired pizzas. The restaurant itself is spacious and they offer a giant screen TV which was tuned to some football when we got there. They also offer a full bar but the magic is in the pizza. We ordered two large Sette Formaggi Pies aka Seven Cheeses and even after the second pie, I wanted more. The pizza had the crisp burnt crust and the wood fired oven definitely gives it a unique taste that’s quite enticing. The cheeses come together very well and it’s not overpowering. The kids loved the pizza and as you know, kids came be brutal judges. My wife and I ordered a Wedge Salad with Prosciutto which was refreshing and a perfect blend of flavors. I was amazed at how fast they baked the pizzas but then I found out that the wood fired oven can cook a pizza in 5 – 7 minutes due to the high heat. Service was terrific, our server was on top of his game and we felt very welcomed. This is the second pizza joint in Tampa that I’ve said to myself, if only I lived closer, I would be there all the time!

We were in the mood to eat pizza, so we decided to try local wood fired pizza restaurant. The restaurant was not crowded, probably because it was a weekday night. Our waitress suggested Big Sexy Pie, which was really really delicious. We ordered some sides but not any other pizzas, so my review may not be very helpful. I will be definitely visiting soon. This place deserves every single star it has on Unilocal

This review is for their buffet: I had a craving for pizza and saw that Wood Fired now has a $ 9.99 Endless Pizza Lunch Buffet. I had only visited this restaurant once before years ago. I walked in hesitantly and saw there were two pizza warmers on the bar. Not really a «buffet» but it was endless. The server greeted me immediately and said I could sit anywhere. There were about 4 other tables. They close at 2pm(break between lunch and dinner) and I got there around 1:15 but I never felt rushed. She told me about their new buffet(only been about 2 weeks). I asked if it took long for the pizza to come out. She said no– it only took about 5 minutes. I decided to do the buffet option. She even said that we can order whatever pizza on the menu and they would make it and put it on the buffet! My first slice was Bianca ~ fresh mozzarella, ricotta, garlic, olive oil, cracked black pepper. There were only like 2 slices left and I thought the pizza would be dry and stale but I was so wrong. It was so delicious and creamy even after staying out! The next pizza was Carnivore ~ San marzano sauce, fresh mozzarella, pepperoni, meatballs, sausage, romano. This was meaty, pretty standard but you can tell the ingredients are superior. Next: Michaelangelo ~ San marzano sauce, pepperoni, mozzarella, mushrooms, caramelized onions. Similar taste to the carnivore but with less meat of course. I really prefer white sauce pizzas over red sauce so when the server asked which one I wanted, I was trying to choose between the Pistacio pie and the Pesto Pie. I wanted the pistacio one more for novelty but I love pesto and she mentioned that they make their own pesto in-house so I choose that one. Pesto Pie~ Pesto, chicken, fresh tomatoes, ricotta, red onions, pecorino romano. This was amazing! I loved everything about this pizza, especially the ricotta. I’m pretty sure I ate half the pie! Overall, I’m glad I tried Wood Fired Pizza today. I will most likely come back again for the pizza. Price point: definitely worth the $ 9.99 since a normal small pie is around $ 15.95. Taste: it’s gourmet pizza that is delicious. You can taste every ingredient. They also have WiFi so I can see people studying/working here. There actually was a man on his laptop at the bar. This was not the best pizza I ever had but I think it’s a solid 4 stars. If I’m craving for specialty pizza, I would come here.

Usually pizza is not my first choice of selection for any dinner. I prefer it to be lunch or something quick and get back to work. Wood Fire Pizza has prove me wrong. We were here 9:30pm 30 minutes before they close. We call ahead to make sure they are open. Sometime some other restaurant close early if they don’t have customers. We have order the Big Sexy, Carnivore and Raquel. My friend tell me the Raquel is the margarita pizza — in drink this is favorite order item in the bar. The Carnivore has a lot of meat items. I am meat lover. This is the pizza of my kind. The surprise come from the Big Sexy. The pizza really match the name. It is sexy of the taste, sexy of the look, and sexy to enjoy for this pizza. The taste is sophisticated consider the twist of ingredients that were in it. We are thankful that the restaurant open late for us. The service is great may be we hit the right time. We got 10% off the large pizza with Unilocal check in.

After an event my friends and I found ourselves hungry after 9pm on a Sunday night. When a search of all other restaurants in the area yielded early closing times, we were pleased to discover that Wood Fired Pizza Wine Bar was open to cure our hunger pangs. To make sure we called the restaurant, as a quiet Sunday night could be cause for the restaurant to close its doors early(upon getting there our server said that it was smart of us to call because closing time depends on volume of the restaurant). Upon arriving we discovered a nicely laid out and arranged restaurant with wafting smells of wood fired pizza. The furnishings were nice and tasteful and there were plenty 4 flat screen tvs arranged on the walls which were displaying sports games. The pizza oven is in the back left corner of the restaurant and had one to two people presiding in the cooking area at all all times, it was interesting to see this kind of «open kitchen». There are a combination of tables and booths and the restaurant can accommodate larger parties. Dan, our server, was very helpful and accommodating, not to mention he was patient with our indecisiveness. We chose to order a large Carnivore and two other small pizzas-a Big Sexy Pie and Pizza Raquel. Each pizza came out as it was ready and in a relatively short time we were chewing down. The Carnivore had a combination of meats and cheese and was well liked by our party. The Pizza Raquel was what it was but the least liked of our group however I liked the fresh flavors. The Big Sexy Pie was my favorite; I loved how the combination of flavors shined and complimented each other – you will my be disappointed. The crust on these pizzas is pretty great, and not like at other artisan pizza places where charred crust is the norm(I’ll pass on the carcinogenic matter, thanks). The restaurant has food for every taste and preference-vegetarian, vegan, and meat eaters-and orders can be modified to your liking. I enjoy that WFP has a variety of appetizers as well as offers two desserts, house made cannoli a and tiramisu. On a future visit I hope to have a salad and other appetizers as I have heard good things. The day we were there we also learned about their«Endless Pizza Lunch Buffet» for $ 9.95 which had just began that day. There is a great variety of craft beers and wine available as well. Thank you to Wood Fired Pizza for accommodating us food mongers and for the stellar service!

My girlfriend and I drove over from our hotel to this location to get a good pizza and not just any regular pizza, authentic with fresh ingredients and this place did it for us. We really enjoyed coming here and having a nice pizza. A little bit more expensive than some places, but the authenticity is on point. We started off with the Proscuitto Arugula Salad with the large shaved parmesan and tossed in a balsalmic vinaigrette, this was big enough to share amongst two people. There were so many pizzas that we wish that we could have tried them all, but in the end we went with the Pizza Lydia, which was absolutely amazing, so many flavors and not like your ordinary greasy pizza. All in all this place was very nice andt was worth every penny, if you’re in Tampa this is a great place to grab a pizza and pig out. I would reccommend trying out this spot, and plus there is a 10% off your pizza when you check-in for all those Unilocalers out there! Enjoy! I plan on coming back here and trying more pizza on my trip back to Florida, you do a great job at making great pizza, so please don’t ever change!

Another evening of running around & hitting as many places as I could, from my old stomping ground. This establishment was seeing it’s fair amount of action for the evening. I got the garlic knots, which is a medium pizza crust with only shaved garlic. I love the flavor this gives and the crust is thin & crispy. I only ate a few pieces & got the rest boxed to go, LOL I had other plans for the rest of it. An enjoyable place to visit. What’s a girl to do? know what you like & try something different.
