Great food and quick service. A little gem in my opinion. The sandwiches and salads have always been great. I will most definitely come back.

I love the atmosphere of this little gem. The way it’s decorated and the friendliness of the staff. Really a nice place to stop in for lunch. I had their veggie sandwich at it was good as far as sandwiches without meat go. My mother in law, who is quite hard to please, got the Cuban and loved it. I’d love to go back and try the soup another time. Make sure you read chalkboard sign out front, it always says something witty or chuckle worthy.

My mom and I were in Tampa for 2 days while she was having surgery. In that short stay, we got food from Stone Soup Company twice. We did not get soup … but the pretzels and cheese dip were fantastic! We got that both times, and am ashamed to say the 2nd time, we got 2 orders. The Shrimp Mac was pretty good too!

We came here on a Tuesday late afternoon after Tropical Storm Colin. It was pretty empty and we choose a booth seat. It was nice and air conditioned. My husband got the dumpling entrée($ 10 for 10 pieces and Thai sauce) and I got the Cuban Sandwich solo. The dumpling were delicious, typical gyoza but a bit pricey. I thought it was odd that it is an entrée. I never had a Cuban sandwich before but where else should I try it but at the #1 spot(according to the menu). It was cut vertical so I had two thin sandwiches and dipping juice. It seemed like the spread was not evenly spread out. Again, first time having a Cuban sandwich and I thought it was just mediocre. Overall, A-OK.

Had the BLT flatbread & tomato basil soup. Excellent! Wife had the KGB Borscht soup and small Greek salad. Salad was huge; both were excellent. Check in with Unilocal and get a free glass of sangria! One of our favorite places in Ybor.

The real winner here today was actually the«Jeuben» and the French onion soup. We ordered the Cuban sandwich as well but it wasn’t the star of the show; it was sort of dry and just not the biggest bang of flavor — at least not after all the hype! Service was good,(she) was high-energy and attentive. Cool little hidden gem in the middle of Ybor — so hidden in fact, we walked past it twice!

Bursting with flavor on 7th in Ybor! I had heard all sorts of compliments about this restaurant and ran into a friend who said it was a must visit, so decided to check it out myself: I’m happy I did! Park on the street or in the garage 1 block south of the restaurant. There are a couple of outdoor tables and quite a bit of seating despite the small space. The Soup Options are plentiful: bisque, broccoli cheese, French Onion, Cuban Chili, etc. and, of course, I had to check them out because of the restaurant name. The Broccoli Cheese was outstanding! Fresh and creamy but still light — not like a thick heavy Minnesota cream soup that puts you napping under your desk for two hours after lunch — but chock full of flavor and fresh veggies and it seemed to have a hint of worcestershire or something with similar zest, creamy but light enough for warm Florida weather year round. The soup comes in a bowl or cup with bread on the side. The Gorgonzola Walnut Salad was huge and arrived in an over-sized wooden bowl. Very fresh and full of chicken, fresh veggies, nuts and flavor. I took most of it home because I also tried the Pretzel bites. Fried — not baked — with nacho cheese or chili sauce and sometimes brie — these have extra flavor. The nacho cheese is really nacho cheese not a cheddar spread and it makes all the difference in bringing out the flavor of the pretzel dough. I see why everyone was recommending them. ‘Nuff said — order them! The space is a bit tight but fits a surprising number of 2 and 4 top tables. The artwork is eclectic and a bit depressing and the memorabilia varied, but the overall effect is happy and welcoming. High ceilings bring the typical Ybor restaurant feel and raise the noise level a bit, but it was fine during lunch. The Manager/Owner stopped by to check on me and the service was very helpful, friendly and efficient. A win all around — I’ll be back!

I’ve given this place more chances than I can count, mostly because my boyfriend really likes the Cuban sandwich, but every single time I’ve been disappointed. I’ve tried several different things on the menu, but basically, if you’re not getting a sandwich piled with meat, everything else is incredibly inconsistent and of overall poor quality. More recently, the gorgonzola walnut salad came with blue cheese instead of the cheese listed in its name. I didn’t even touch it. The roasted chicken tenders were flavorless, dry, and grey in color. It looked more like cat food, which is what it ended up being. The regular chicken tenders were pretty much all bread, hardly any meat, and were stiff like jerky. The fries in general, are just not good. I don’t really know how else to describe them, other than just disappointing. I’ve tried a few other things that were just okay, but not great. The service is decent, especially if you’re dining in, but with how disappointing I’ve found the food over the last few months, you might be better off ordering elsewhere.

We were looking forward to trying Stone Soup Co after reading the Unilocal reviews. Madeline wasn’t feeling fantastic & just wanted soup, so this restaurant seemed perfect. When we went in, all the tables were taken so we sat at the only 3 bar seats. Immediately a server approached us & I said we’d like a table when one clears. Less than 10 minutes later, the same server came back & said the table by the front window was open, and we hovered while he cleaned it. Unfortunately, that was the last we saw of that server. He didn’t give us any menus, but we found one laying by the front door. Not exactly convenient for 3 people. And more than 15 minutes later, we were still waiting to place our drink order. Even after hubs went back up to the bar to find someone, no one approached our table. We finally gave up & left.

This is a cute place with outdoor sidewalk seating. This is more of a deli with a good Cuban than a Cuban restaurant. We had the award-winning Cuban sandwich which looks small but is very filling. I got my sandwich with the beans and rice side which ended up being more than I could finish. My husband had the fries with his and they we only ok. There is a parking garage with reasonable rates a couple blocks away.

This place I heard won awards for their Cuban sandwiches. I’ve had a lot of Cuban sandwiches over the years but this one was the money. It was crispy on the outside, the mustard pops and the pork was awesome. I’m probably not going to eat another one anywhere else. The service here was great as well. My boss was across the street at a bar, when I finished I walked over and met him. I told him I just had the best Cuban ever and he didn’t believe me. He ordered one, walked across the street, picked up and came back. He took a bite and the look on his face was just like mine upon first bite. He couldn’t stop eating it and finished the whole sandwich. You’ll do the same thing…

OK, so I need to update my review, as we promised in our original we would be back to give them another shot. And we have been back TWICE. Taking it up to four stars. So we have had a few more things on the menu here. Gyro, Mazah Ball Soup, and a few others. And it is VERY good… enough that we will make it a regular stop for us! So up from thee to 4 stars in my book :-)

This was the second time I ate here for lunch. I work nearby and don’t go out to eat a lot but when I do I like to go to the different Ybor establishments. The first time we went here for lunch it took forever. I am talking almost two hours. That was over a year ago and my coworker had been there since and not had as long of a wait so I figured I would try it again. When we arrived, it was packed. No inside seating available but since it was nice outside we figured we would sit outside. My friend told the server we were out there and got a couple menus. The server told her it would be a while before we were waited on. We waited 5 – 10 min and no one came outside to take our order or even a drink order so we went inside and grabbed the one table two people just got up from. I told the waitress we were waiting outside but had not been waited on so came inside. She also told us it would be a while. We decided to wait as we were already waiting and to go somewhere else would be starting over. To be fair, they were busy, had three servers working, and also had a lot of take out orders. When our server got to us a couple minutes later, we ordered drinks and our food at the same time. I got a root beer because I wanted something different. Good choice. I ordered the tomato basil soup and a chicken empanada while my friend ordered the french onion soup and cheese bread. Not a complicated order. It took at least a half hour to get our food. We were about to ask for it to go but that is when the soups came out. My friend’s cheese bread came out and I had to ask about my empanada, which was not ready yet. I just asked for that in a to go box and ate my soup because we were already going to be late back to the office. The food here is good, the atmosphere is funky and I would recommend stopping by, just make sure you have PLENTY of time to hang out. Also, they also have a good sized beer and wine list which I would have taken a closer look at if I didn’t have to go back to work.

The Stone Soup Company in Ybor city is a great lunch spot on 7th. There are a couple of small tables outside for nice days, and though the place isn’t huge, there is ample seating inside(booths and tables). In addition to a solid selection of soup to choose from, they also offer a variety of sandwhiches. I had the chili and it was awesome! My lunch partner had the loaded potato soup, which she said was also terrific. The service is good, the prices are reasonable, the menu selection is spot on, and the food is deliscious. Give this place a try when you are in Ybor, you’ll be glad you did.

Kristin is our permanent server. She is so friendly and attentive. The owner always has a smile on his face! They generate a positive atmosphere! AND my Granddaughter Gigi(mini assistance on Unilocal reviews) is always happy here! Gigi loves Mama’s Chicken Soup. Love the award winning«The Real Cuban!» It does have a mustard mayo mix with a side of mojo sauce to dip! I do have to say the sammie is sliced length ways to dip! The«Steak n Cheese» Flatbread quite tasty and filling. You must try the roasted chicken tenders. good healthy protein! Was so intrigued by the name, Cubanada, I had to try it the last time I was in. Take the ingredients from a Cuban sandwich and cram them into an empanada! Yummo! Pittsburgh! You can only imagine what a CUBAMANTI is! All sorts of beverages including wine and beer are served here to wash down the great offerings! I can’t do the menu justice as it will offer something for everyone. The surprise is they can handle the challenge in preparation & taste! I’ve been going here for lunch frequently as I believe In hooked! Such is life! Buen Provecho!

M.C. Hammer would vouch for this award winning Cuban sandwich making shop. He’d where his parachute pants and say U can’t Touch This Bc it is 2 Legit 2 Quit! He would then order a cubanada, pass it over to Bo and Boon and say, take one down pass it around, 97 cubanadas left to go down their bellies! This place is great. Our server was funny. We sat outside bc we had our doggie with us. We people watched. Oh so interesting. Inside is local artsy fartsy art on the walls. Loved it. Cool place!!! They also have a wide array of soups and sandwiches and I scream, u scream we all scream for ice cream!!!

After seeing pictures of the soups, I had to try this place immediately! I was a little hesitant after seeing is located in the heart of Ybor, but I tried it anyway, and I was pleased. Started with the broccoli cheese soup, gorged myself with some chilli cheese fries, and finished with a Cuban sandwich. The soup was outstanding! Rich and creamy, and seasoned perfectly. The chilli cheese fries were pretty delicious, also. The fries were layered with generous portions of chilli and cheese. The Cuban sandwich was out of this world good! They cut it lengthwise, and serve it with a mojo dipping sauce which softens the bread just right. I recommend getting the mojo sauce spicy. Their take on a Cubana is the best I’ve had in the Bay Area(so far). It’s loaded with generous portions of meats, dabbed with the right amounts of pickles & mustard, and a fairly large sandwich for a decent price. I will go back just for the Cuban, but all the food is really good here. The dining area is not big, but not real small either. It was really clean during my visit, and the service was fast and friendly. Overall, I had a great experience, I recommend checking this place out, and I will be back for sure!
