Food was delicious and filling. I had one of the specials of the day which was the rib eye steak and egg. Food was cooked as requested, staff was friendly and attentive. I am from Phoenix, Arizona and this is a great local business. We were driving by and noticed the parking lot was full so figured we would stop in and check it out. I can see why it is so crowded as I too, was pleasantly pleased with the service, food and atmosphere. It’s an older restaurant by the looks of it but it’s eclectic look makes it all that much more appealing to me. I give this place 2 thumbs up

I have been coming here for a few years know and the place is not much to the eye but the food is great. I love that it is a mom and pop kind of restaurant there are not many left! This place has been here for many years and it’s like visiting family!

Great local diner, breakfast is solid and lunch is pretty good, but it’s just a classic breakfast diner which I love. Kids eat free on Saturdays which is a treat and the staff will get to know you if you go there enough and they are always friendly.

My breakfast was good. The only major issue I had I was sitting at the bar. I can see into the kitchen. The waitress kept toughing their hair, coughing and then picking up people food. It just made me sick on the stomach. That’s super nasty to me. I came so close to walking out and not seeing it. I just can’t go back for that reason.

I can’t even remember how many years I have been eating at Ranch House. It doesn’t matter if it’s breakfast or lunch, it is always good down home food. Plenty to fill you up & at a price you certainly can’t complain about. Yes I am a sucker for diners, also love Mom’s Place & Pop & Son’s. Back to Ranch House, they usually have daily specials & remember it is an indie! Breakfast is always relaxing and bountiful. Lunch has the usual fare with open faced sammies, burgers, hot plates & more… something for everyone. They do aim to please, I often make minor adjustments to my meal & have never had any complaints about it. The servers, most have worked here for years. Food consistency is good & my plate is usually clean… all good signs. Yup, it looks like a throwback to the 70’s, but if they updated it, they would be killing most of it’s character & charm. What’s a girl to do? Just like the restaurant, what you see is what you get.

It was nostalgia that brought me back to Ranch House during my trip to Tampa. The Ranch House has been here forever, and forever ago I was a bag boy at the U-save(u-slave) across the street. The U-Save is now Bravo Supermarket and the neighborhood has changed, but Ranch House remains the same. Ranch House is still a solid breakfast joint serving the regular standards. Prices are fair, not good. The weekday breakfast crowd was made up of a lot of regulars, who seemed to be as much a part of this restaurant’s history as the dozens of kitsch signs and décor that cover the walls. Who says you can’t go home again?

Yes it’s a dive but don’t let that stop you. I just ate here for the first time on a suggestion from a family member. We walked in and were told to sit anywhere. As I glared over each empty dirty table filled with remnants of the recent breakfast rush I started to think twice about bringing my out-of-town friends here on a whim. Our server was a sweet lady with a slow southern accent, who had the heart to overlook two 18 month old teething toddlers who lack social grace to put it nicely.(Which undoubtedly earned her a 30% tip). I’ll be the first to admit, I am a picky eater but I was so delightfully surprised at how good the breakfast was. My eggs, ordered over easy were cooked to perfection. The sausage patty wasn’t greasy and the pancakes tasted like doughnuts. Even the hash browns were crispy just like I love them!(Did I cook this breakfast in a dream?) Oh, and the homemade buttermilk biscuits? I enjoyed every bite of it until my daughter decided I had had enough and launched it to the next booth like she was being scouted for the New York Yankees. Seriously, where did she get that arm? I can’t wait to return here –sans kids– and enjoy another round of sweet, southern hospitality and a well done breakfast. Just try it and if you think I’m wrong, well breakfast is on me. Not really but it’s so cheap you won’t even be mad.

Drove past this place countless number of times before and finally decided to dine in for a Sunday breakfast. Our initial impression was the random 1970s décor of this place and the clientele was family/elder customers, which we didn’t mind either. I had a southwest quesadilla and my girlfriend had a breakfast sandwich. Mine was delicious but hers was OK. The servers were very kind and friendly but the kitchen was a little slow, compared only being half busy at the time we arrived. If I had to choose either Nikki’s or here, I’d pick Nikki’s.

Best biscuits & gravy you’ll ever have. Don’t get there to late or they may run out of biscuits. When this happens try their omelets. Ranch House so reminds me of your typical Iowa small town restaurant.

The Eggs Benedict is my favorite menu item, they also have light breakfast meals like an egg served w/toast for a reasonable price. The coffee is really good, there’s something just plain enough about it that it compliments the food well.

I’ve been gong here for a long time. The waitresses are cool and they truly remember who you are, what you want to drink, and eat of course unless you change your mind. I love it! The building itself is a bit run down and could use some serious cleaning but the food is good. I think there was only one time I didn’t eat everything on my plate, the waffle had a funny sweet taste, I thought it was the syrup so took it home but was the same way with my syrup. My favorite sandwich is the Lean but their chilli is good too! Oh and they have turkey bacon that taste good, not many breakfast places have turkey bacon.

To be honest I hesitated to try this place. It looks grungy from the outside but once you walk in you know every things going to be alright. The inside is cozy and makes you feel like you’re at one of those small town restaurants your grandparents would take you to for breakfast. Foods good and prices are decent but nothing extra special.

TL;DR — cheap prices, best biscuit, no thrills Usually my breakfast spot in the area is Nicki’s Omelette and Grill. Big fan of everything they do, but looking into breakfast on Unilocal,we saw the Ranch House pop up and figured we’d give it a shot. I had driven past it countless times, but as it closes after 2 pm, had never had a chance to go. As described by others, the décor is out of the 70s. Wood walls, faded leather booths. Feels more like something from a small southern town then Tampa. Crowd was mostly families and elderly. The menu is large — a lot of staples like different omelettes, pancakes, biscuits and gravy, waffles. Also a lot of named combinations that include all of the above. A lot of options, and at a cheap price. Girlfriend got a biscuit and gravy, with eggs and bacon. I went with the southern fried steak, biscuit, mashed potatoes and gravy and home fries. Mmm, carbs. The food was ok. I definitely feel Nicki’s food taste better(as well as having better coffee). But the price was hard to beat. You get your money’s worth here. But if you’re willing to spend a little more, head a bit east. Also the biscuit was the best I’ve had in Tampa. Big and buttery, this would be worth coming for.

Not impressed by the burgers at all. Taste and texture was off. Place looks like a great place for breakfast though.

Woah. This place is straight out of the 70s. Everything is just so old… but in a good way! The décor, walls, floors, booths, look totally original to the building. Even the patrons are a bunch of grandmas and grandpas. Speaking of which, I have decided I love eating at places where old people frequent– because they’re ususally empty-nesters and aren’t toting around obnoxious screaming babies. Major plus. Nothing ruins my meal faster than a shrieking baby. The waitresses are friendly although the service may not be the most expedient– food came out quick, but it took quite a while to get our check(we had to ask two different waitresses). We just embraced the fact that we were in a time warp and assumed they were operating on 70s time. They, apparently, also have 70s era pricing, which is awesome. $ 6.99 for corned beef hash, home fries, two eggs, and toast? Don’t mind if I do! The food itself was great. The corned beef hash was crispy and not overwhelmingly salty, like a lot of other places, and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Next time however, I’ll opt for hashbrowns instead of home fries, as they were a little bland. The thing I most appreciated about their food is that it’s not greasy. I left feeling full, but not weighed down with a boatload of grease a la Village Inn. All in all– Diner Win!

I went here today for a quick breakfast and when i saw the prices of things i thought for sure i was going to get hooked up with some upset stomach action. I was pleasantly surprised as I had some pretty good biscuits and gravy and didnt feel worse for the wear hours later.

I. love. diners. Like Joda, I love hole-in-the-wall diners — especially when they’re effing GOOD. The first time we came here, sweetie was making a face at me & one of the waitresses looked over & exclaimed, «Don’t you go opening your mouth like that! You’re gonna get hooked & cooked for dinner. I’m gonna call you Charlie. I dunno what your name is, but you remind me of Charlie the Tuna, so I’m gonna call you Charlie.» Sure enough, next time we dropped in, before we’d fully stepped inside the door, «Hey! Charlie!» Their biscuits are dense & delicious — & I usually don’t like biscuits. Omelettes are a little on the dense side, too, which is exactly how I like mine; none of that fluffy airy crap for me. Hash browns are crispy &BROWN. &2 pancakes, 2 bacon/sausage, 2 eggs for $ 3.99? YES. They’re only open till 2, though, which is a point against them, but I’ll take what I can get — & in this case, I can get some damn good food before 2pm, so I’ll take it.
