Walking into the Platinum Zipper is like walking into your best friend’s closet(if your best friend was in a lot of weddings or did beauty pageants and therefore had a lot of stock dresses). Cristina, the store owner, greets you as soon as you come in– and is eager to help you find your perfect dress. I hate dress shopping– but Cristina’s friendly conversation made me feel like I was hanging out with an old friend. And it took the stress right out of it. I visited this store after a bride sent me an awful potential bridesmaid dress to try on. I couldn’t let this happen so I came in here needing help. Cristina didn’t ask«what color» i was looking for. Instead– she asked what color the flowers were… and was the wedding at night? and what color was the brides dress?(apparently white isn’t the only color anymore)… all information she used to help steer us in the direction of a dress that would compliment the overall theme. She also took into account the body types of the bridesmaids– finding dresses that she had seen be flattering on many sizes. We went through catalogs and she even gave some options on Mother of the Bride & Mother of the Groom. All the dresses seem reasonably priced here– the ones we were looking at were all under $ 100(try doing that at David’s Bridal). I think the specific specialty of this store is quince’ dresses– but while I was in there, someone was trying on prom dresses, someone picked up a bridesmaid dress, and someone else was looking for a «special occasion» dress. I didn’t leave the store with a dress– as I had to report some information back to the bride– but I will be back once we decide on a dress!
