Wow… set in the heart of Ybor what else could you ask for! Great food, atmosphere and BEEEEEER! I was thankful for the great Unilocal reviews and I am so happy I decided to go. Lets start off with the Calamari… OMGAWD! Like totally the flavors were outstanding. The mix of peppers and ginger tantalize your tongue. If I had a choice I would probably eat that calamari every day. Now the beer. I like wheat based beers so asked our lovely waitress to make a suggestion and I loved it! I went there with quite the hungry bunch so we also ordered the bagguettes that came with honey butter. That butter is addictive so only try at your own risk. I was really wanting to eat a good burger so I ordered the Bison Burger. It was good but not outstanding, it was bland and I asked for it medium and it was over cooked but still good enough to finish. Throughout the evening our service was on point with constant check ins. If your in the area I highly recommend you stop by. I know once I return I plan to hit up that joint just for some out of this world calamari. Whoop Whoop! Yeah!

Yes go!!! Ok a real review… Atmosphere = awesome Beautiful bar and many tables with a people watching view. Food = amazing We ordered wings that Guy Fieti apparently had on his show and they were huge and full of great taste and came with both ranch and blue cheese. My burger was the Bison burger. Do yourself a favor and just order it. Was one of the best burgers I’ve had in a while! Had blue cheese and mushrooms and more but please just try it. I had girls we never met before convinced to order it while we were there and even THEY said the same. My husband got another Guy Fieti burger that seemed to be cooked in a calzone. He said it was a bit over cooked for him but we split both burgers so we could share and I’d still pick mine Beer = out of this world Many to choose from but it was a really hot day and don’t know if I’m saying this due to that but my beers weren’t as cold as I’d have liked but really good! Bartender = extremely knowledgeable He let us try any beer we wanted. He said he’d let us try them all if we wanted. We didn’t need to and fell in love with the banana beer! Ok so you wanted a review so there it is. That’s why I started this with… «Yes go!» Enjoy!

Cool brew pub right in the heart of Ybor. I had already eaten so I only focused on the brews, but that’s why your here anyway right? They have a nice outdoor patio bar. We sat at the bar and had a couple house made oat sodas. I enjoyed both of them and would be happy to check off the rest of the roster. After I went inside to recycle my brews, I realized the size of this place inside. I could definitely being a good hang out spot for some cold ones on a warm day.

We had a pretty good lunch here while we were on vacation back on January 31st. After walking around Ybor City for a couple of hours enjoying the quiet the morning after Gasparilla, and my husband enjoyed the stroll with a cigar, we decided to grab some lunch. We are always up for trying a brewery. We started with a beer sampler($ 5) of Red Eye Amber Ale, Moosekiller barleywine, and the Scotch ale, and an order of their famous cider wings($ 9.50). For us, the first two beers were just ok. Neither one of those had much depth or complexity of flavor, but the Scotch ale was excellent and we ended up ordering pints of that($ 5.75). I know people love the wings, but they fell flat for us. They were mostly drummies that were full of gristle and the sauce was too heavy on the vinegar. I would not order those again. There are lots of other appealing choices on the menu. Then we shared the Boss Hog pizza($ 13). Bring on the pork! This pizza was loaded down and delicious! Overall it was a nice lunch, and the excellence of the pizza and the Scotch ale pushed this up to a 4-star review. Ricky took great care of us and I saw so much good food walk by our table that I would definitely plan a return visit the next time we are in the area.

What a great Brew Pub! I have to admit that I initially wasn’t too thrilled about coming here. I had their Reef Donkey APA at another restaurant and didn’t like it. I assumed I wouldn’t like any of their beers. Well, I was very wrong. I discovered some really good beers on my first visit. I love the Wild Warthog HefeWeizen. It’s a very light & refreshing beer. I’m also a fan of the Full Moon Madness Porter and any version of their Iron Rat Stout. I couldn’t decide what I wanted so I got a flight of 4 beers(4 oz. pours). I totally recommend it. I also got to sample the Pirate Booty Mead that was on guest tap(Mad Beach Brewing). It was a nice little after dinner treat. They also have a full bar(with yummy Mojitos), so you don’t have to be a beer drinker to enjoy this pub. My friend enjoyed the Dragon Berry Mojito. The food was also very good. We ordered the Firecracker Shrimp, Tribeca French Baguette, and Chips with Salsa & Queso as appetizers. The bread was warm & fresh. The honey butter was very good, but I would have preferred it to be served at room temperature. It was not spreadable(too cold). The other 2 appetizers were good, but I’ve had better. My main dish was the Beer Cheese Soup. It was delicious. I’d order it again. It was even better when sharing an order of Brew House Pretzels. The pretzels went perfectly with the soup. I’m looking forward to visiting again. The service & atmosphere was also very nice. It’s just a great place to meet with friends or family.

This place is AWESOME! I enjoy Ybor city I really do. Certain times that is. I am getting to the age to were I do not need to be done there during the«clubbin» hours. It has been a while since i’ve been here. I had the seared Ahi salad which was INSANELY good. Very fresh tasting! And really was a nice sized portion as well! I also had the sample platter of their unique beers. Really is a great place to come with the family. The staff was very knowledgable. Broke down the beers for us without a problem. I need to revisit this place real soon. If you are in the area definitely give these guys a go! All around great vibe here!

I love supporting local craft brews and Tampa Bay Brewing Company is a classic institution. I’ve visited during their happy hour when beers are a dollar off. My favorite is the Red Eye Amber Ale. Their hefeweizen is also good. I’ve only sat at the bar, but the service was fast. I noticed that they have a mug club where you pay a one-time fee to get a year of discounts and special recognition with a personal mug. Even though TBBC is more of a brewpub than a true brewery, I haven’t tried much of their menu. I’ve only had the chips with salsa and cheese dip with bread. Both were very good but the cheese was better. I plan on coming back to try more now that I know that the food has been featured on the Food Network. It’s right in the heart of Ybor and there’s a lot to do around there, so it’s worth a try.

I’ve visited Tampa Bay Brewing Company’s original Ybor location on a few occasions. The bar is very spacious and the menu is extensive. As far as TBBC’s beer offerings, I like the Wild Warthog Hefeweizen best. The Florida’s True Blonde Ale is also good. I know that a lot of people love their Reef Donkey, but it was too bitter for me. I’d like to try their barleywine, but haven’t had a chance yet. While the beer is what most people come for, I’ve also tried the red sangria. I wasn’t expecting anything spectacular but it was great! It comes with fruit garnishes and is blended well. As we enjoyed our drinks on our most recent visit, we decided to order a couple appetizers. First we had the chips and house-made salsa. It was a little too spicy for my taste, but everyone else seemed fine. Then we tried the cheese and ale dip that’s made with TBBC’s Red Eye Ale. It was delicious and I loved the ciabatta bread it came with. I plan on visiting for a proper meal soon. I can’t believe I passed by this great local brewpub so many times without stopping in, but I’m glad that I finally gave it a try!

Going with 4 stars on TBBC. I’ll start with saying I love the atmosphere and this is where my love of craft beer started. The first time I visited was in 2007 on a class field trip while studying marketing at UT. Yes, my professor was awesome enough to introduce our class to craft beer as a learning experience when it wasn’t yet ‘a thing’! We toured the facility, which at the time was one of the first to brew on premises in Tampa. Located in Ybor City, TBBC has become a local favorite and also a great location to grab some tasty food which is mostly infused with beer. My favorite menu item is the buffalo chicken pizza. SONOMNOM! The burgers are fabulous as well and I can’t say I’ve ever had a bad appetizer here either. I’ll be honest, I look forward to the food more than the beers. I’m a big IPA fan and Reef Donkey & Elephant Foot are good… but not my all time faves. Try Moose Killer if you’re into Barleywines. That one is worth talking about. I’ll definitely be back here because it’s a great experience overall and I really appreciate the history of this place. It’s one of the first Craft Breweries to make a mark in Tampa and the location is fantastic. Give it a try. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it!

If you’re visiting Tampa and happen to find yourself in the heart of Ybor, then stop in at the Tampa Bay Brewing Company(TBBC) for a iced cold beer and some of the area’s best tasty food. Tampa Bay Brewing Company is one of my favorite things in the town. Our server was fantastic. The wine was on tap, absolutely the best wine I have ever tasted. Good bar food and great beer in the middle of Ybor. Incredible food, the nicest waiter ever, great atmosphere and reasonable prices. The menu has a mix of tried and true meals and some really original dishes. The tables are nice and roomy, and they are child friendly. The beer was fantastic and they list the alcohol content of each different brew, which was a nice touch. They offer indoor and outdoor seating. If the weather’s nice, definitely sit outside. The outside section is nice and the décor is nice inside and out. I’ve never been overwhelmed with their beers. Not sure why, they’re just mediocre. Food is pretty good though. I get their The Bomb, which is basically a bacon cheeseburger wrapped in pizza dough. It’s unique, very tasty, and a ridiculous quantity of food. You could easily have two people share it as one meal.

Started out with the award winning Cider Wings… delicious! On to the Moose Killer Meatloaf… OMG good! The Mrs ordered the Calzone… it was HUGE! And very flavorful as well. The staff was great and our trainee Natasha did a wonderful job. Great place, great atmosphere… one we’ll definitely have to stop by again when we get to FL again.

Definitely a fan of this place. Great sports bar type of restaurant with a great selection of house brewed beers and delicious appetizers and food. The atmosphere is fun, the food is always good, and I’ve always had great service here. Definitely recommend the pretzels for appetizer! I usually get a veggie burger for dinner. The cheesy mashed potatoes are amazing! Best thing about this place is also its location. You can sit inside or outside and it’s the perfect place for dinner and drinks before a movie at the theater upstairs. Also close to the streetcar trolley so nobody has to drive home!

Went here on a Saturday afternoon with a small group of friends. It was a beautiful day so we decided to sit in the outdoor area. The outdoor area, at least on the day we were there, is seat yourself. There were a few empty tables that had not yet been cleaned off. Because it was pretty busy we sat down at one of those and waited. The staff was really busy and we ended up sitting at the dirty table for roughly 10 solid minutes. I’d like to note that we were not the only people who walked in and sat down at a dirty table and waited for it to be cleaned. At some point a server came by apologized and begin cleaning the table off. Shortly thereafter the server came back off of those menus and took our drink orders. The atmosphere of the outdoor area on a beautiful day is spectacular. We ordered a variety of different items and each one was terrific. 1 person in our group required something gluten free, and the server brought a gluten free menu and also offered suggestions on gluten free drinks. The prices here are reasonable, the menu selection is good, the beer selection is good, and everything we had that day drinks and food included, were perfect. I give this place 4 stars instead of 5, solely because the management team should realize that on a beautiful Saturday afternoon they need to staff accordingly. Make a trip to this place on a nice day, grab a seat outside, and enjoy good food, good drink, and good company.

4 of us stopped in for beers and lunch and had a great time. Mason our waiter was most genial and couldn’t do enough for us. We tried a couple of beer samplers and must say TBBC has a fine array of brews for every palate. I had a buffalo chicken sandwich with black beans and rice. Others had the onion soup blackened chicken, shepherds pie, & gumbo. All were described as very good. The only complaint was that the pastrami wasn’t too good. Otherwise Bravo

When we were facing an hour wait at Columbia the other night, extreme hunger won over and we were just not going to wait. OK, we’re new to the area. Unilocal to the rescue! We saw this place was well reviewed and right down the street. OK, let’s go! Great location in Ybor. We sat outside, and the street car station is right there, so you really get a cool old world vibe. Love that! They brew a wide selection of beer, check! How about the food. We ordered 2 apps: The cheese dip: OMG! Made with beer and I have no idea what else, but it was off the chain!!! Best I have ever had, and if for nothing else, I would go for this! The French Bread with beer/honey/orange butter. I am sure I am getting these names wrong, but seriously… How can you not order something that sounds like that? It was amazing! The bread was so warm and toasty, and that butter was like nothing I have ever had. Again, if for nothing but that, it is worth going back! Dinners: I had an app for dinner… the wings. They were good. Not oh my god good, but good. I wish I had another order of that cheese dip! My son had the fish and chips. So I don’t do seafood, but my wife and sin were blown away, saying it was the best they had ever had. My wife had a salad with salmon, and said the salmon was fantastic!!! The Beer: I am all about Hefeweizen, and sadly they had just ran out. So I went with my second choice, which was their version of Guinness. Excellent. My wife went for a pale ale, again, excellent. Service was fantastic, prices were reasonable, and it was an all around great experience. This is sure to turn into a regular place for us now that we live here. Loved it!

We really enjoyed the craft beers and our meals. I ordered the portebello mushroom sandwich and it was delicious! I also went to the one that opened in Oldsmar and it had a different menu and different vibe. I liked it because I brought my dog and sat outside. We visited again(dog in tow) and ordered the hummus appetizer, wings, and stuffed trout. Stuffed trout was phenomenal. I liked the hummus appetizer, I would order it without olives next time. The dog loved all the attention he got from the restaurant staff

What do you do when you’re a craft beer fanatic and you have less than 4 hours in Tampa before your flight leaves? Well, you visit As Many Local Breweries As Possible, of course!(Keeping one of you as the designated driver, of course.) This was the case on a recent vacay to the Tampa area, and TBBC was high on our list of places to visit. As a bonus, we found that they had a 2-fer coupon in the local tap trail brochure.(Hey, I like to vacation smart, what can I say?) We arrived mid-day on a Sunday — it was busy with football-watchers(several screens are strategically placed throughout the large, brick-lined space — think Old Spaghetti Factory meets Brewery). We grabbed the only two open seats we could find, which were at the bar, always a great place to sit and a fantastic location(right outside the kitchen door) to watch some really yummy-looking food wander by. Based on another Unilocaler’s review, we ordered a Cubano to share. It was okay… I won’t go as far as «ho hum» but it definitely wasn’t the Best Cubano Ever in my opinion.(That honor, for me at least, happens to go to the little sandwich place we visited a few years back in Key West… but that was pre-my Unilocal obsession so you’ll have to take my word for it here.) But, as usual I digress… Along with the Cubano I ordered a cup of their beer cheese soup and that *was* fantastic. Thick, rich, cheesy, and altogether yummy. The beer was good, too — we got a Brown Ale and an IPA, two solid choices on their extensive tap list. The Ale wasn’t as nutty as I prefer my Browns to be, but it was nice and cold on an unseasonably warm(that’s code for Humid as H-E-double-chopsticks) Tampa day. This is a nice choice if you’re in Tampa and want some good beer and some good food. I’d definitely check it out again if I went back, but I’d probably order something different from the lunch menu. BTW, parking is a bit of a hassle around here. Bring quarters!
