Stephanno’s Pizza

Delicious pizza! You can tell the owners are from somewhere in the northeast. So far I have only gotten slices and the dinner salad, but they have a full menu. Looking forward to the white pizza.

I only give them 1 star cuz I can’t leave 0.
I placed an order online, never got it. Olace said it was open, and it was actually closed. Pathetic.

We ordered a over $ 50 of food from Stephanno’s back in November through Grubhub and had a horrible experience with the employees of that establishment. First of all, I love supporting the local businesses and restaurants in Seminole Heights. We had ordered food from Stephanno’s in the past and liked it. This time will be our last.
We placed the order from Grubhub at 6:30 and we get notification from Grubhub that our order should arrive between 7:15 and 7:30. 7:45 rolls around and no food, so I call just to make sure they got the order and it was on its way. The lady who answered the phone told me that they had just gotten a large order of 7 pizzas from a local church and haven’t even started making our order. She was EXTREMELY RUDE, and stated «what do you want me to do about it?»…“It’s not our fault” and treated me with absolutely utter distain. I understand places get busy… all I wanted was an apology and an update on when we would be receiving our food. I also had a 4 year old daughter that we needed to feed and get to bed. The lady from Stephanno’s told me that it would be another 45 minutes to an hour before they would even make our order. So it would take them 2 ½ hours to get us our food.
I asked to speak to a manager. I’m not entirely sure if it was the manager or owner who got on the phone. The ‘manager’ said the same thing as the lady saying «what do you want me to do about it?»…“It’s not our fault” and treated me with absolutely utter distain. I told them they should just notify the customers if it was going to take 2 ½ hours to get their food. The manager says «what do you want from me… do you want to cancel the order?». I asked for an apology and he hung up the phone on me.
I then had to call back a few times to make sure the order was cancelled and had to call grub hub to confirm that we would be refunded.
Whoever the owner of Stephanno’s is you should be ashamed of your employees and your restaurant. THIS IS BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE I’VE EVER HAD ORDERING FOOD.

I ordered delivery via Unilocal and a third party service. I thoroughly enjoyed the pizza I received. Everything but the doe was exactly New York style. The garlic knots were sub-​par. Delivery was also about 40 minutes late, which was okay with me.

Got a margherita pizza today; moderate time completed for takeout 30 min. It was good and the crust was fresh. Defiantly gonna try the sandwiches and the calzones soon.

I love their cheese pizza… it’s always a delicious treat. My only complaint would be they don’t stay open late enough!

These guys need to get a second phone line! We called about 10x before we were able to speak to someone to put in our order. However, we figured out that when they run a credit card, their phone line is busy. Took off 1 star for that. Bad business practices but the food makes up for that!!! We usually get the meatball sub on foccacia bread which is amazing. Today we got a large pepperoni and meatball pizza… also just as amazing!!! While picking up our food, I noticed GrubHub orders were going to be delivered. Perhaps next time I will save the frustration and order from there. Otherwise a quant pizzeria in this part of town with great food!!!

Like this place. Service is just OK but hey its a pizza place. The sandwich on the menu and the Stromboli are possibly the best thing they serve. They also have wings and other fried stuff too. Delivery is usually a little sketchy but its at the end of my road anyway.

More like 3.5 stars ( Unilocal, when are you gonna add half stars?) but it was pretty good. Just your regular NY style pizza, good cheese, crust, toppings, but just the same stle as most places in Florida (how many times have I said that?). One thing, although they have some tables to eat at, this is mostly a take out place. There are only three tables on a patio and it’s kind of shady. Like if it wasn’t light out, I’d afraid I’d get mugged shady. But yeah, good food.

Came for some slices and was pleasantly surprised! Cute little place with great thin slices. Walk through the kitchen to a homey outdoor patio. Not the fanciest place but it’s just what you want! Good service with friendly people.

Our new favorite pizza parlor. We always try to support local business. Great pizza, garlic rolls, and chicken wings.
I only gave a 4 because one time their wings were bloody inside on several of the drumsticks. But we tried again last night and the wings were great along with a decent cannoli. Pizza has fresh toppings and makes the difference when you want veggies.

I will agree with the other service comments. But all in all the food was tasty. This wouldn’t be my number one pizza choice… but for a quick and cheap meal, sign me up!
I did figure out one tip. It’s byob… and they don’t charge a corkage fee.
I’d recommend you bring a bottle of wine with group of friends and chill in the back

I cannot believe I didn’t stop in to Stephanno’s sooner. What was I thinking? I had driven past it several times, and just never got the nerve to actually patronize the establishment. What a jerk of a SHeights resident I am.
Rachel H deserves the credit for selling me on Stephanno’s. She mentioned it to me, and I actually didn’t even think I knew what she was talking about. When I actually drove to collect my pick-​up order, I realized my silliness. This was the place I’d passed 100 times!
She recommended the chicken parm sandwich, and it was something of the God’s. I don’t think I’ve ever had a chicken parm sandwich before, but wow… it was amazing. The breading actually had hints of sweetness to it. I’m not sure what that was, but I liked it.
For my ever-​shrinking stomach, it was pretty intense. My belly is used to lean cuisines and apples… and this was no apple. But I will tell you that it hit the proverbial spot. I meant to only eat half of it, but that was laughable. I destroyed that thing’s soul, and it turn, destroyed my scale. But I liked it. I liked it a lot.
I need to visit again and try the pizza, among the many other sandwiches on the menu. What a treasure you are to me… sorry for not recognizing this earlier.

Best toppings on a pizza in Seminole Heights. Definitely a delivery or pick-​up joint. Wouldn’t dine in, but will keep visiting. I

They must have changed their recipe for foccacia bread. It is not the amazing bread that made anything you put between them heavenly anymore, kind of dry and flavorless now. Please bring back the old bread!!! What am I going to eat now when I don’t want to cook?

LOVE this place. Get lunch here at least 3x a week. Two massive slices and a soda for 5 $ is a perfect deal. The slices are huggggeeee, thin, and the garlic butter they put on the crust is to die for. Honestly, one of my favorites in all of Tampa… Their buffalo chicken pizza is easily some of the best I’ve ever had.
The baked spaghetti and chicken/​meatball parms are very different, and totally worth a try. I try to switch it up whenever I go there so I don’t turn into a pizza myself, but overall this place is worth it.
Not sure why people say it’s expensive, you get so much food for what you pay for, it’s worth every penny.
Anyone who’s comparing it to Papa Johns or Dominos needs to talk a walk, this place is exponentially better, and not even in the same category as fast food pizza chains. There’s a reason those places are 5 $ a pie, and authentic NY style pizza are not.

This is a real bummer–
The pizza was great. The salad was huge. But, I have to give three stars…
Ants. Ants everywhere. We went in and planned on eating there but while looking over the menu we saw ants everywhere… on the table, the floor, the wall. They should have done something about this– I doubt they just appeared.
We still ordered, but took it to go. Hopefully they take care of the ants (and anything else crawling around) because the pizza really was great.

I’ve eaten there before. Average at best.
However last thursday the 4^th, I didn’t feel like cooking so I called them at 9:07 pm. per the menu they
delivered, they we’re open till 10.
phone just rang and rang. So I ordered from a competitor. I won’t be going back. Too bad, since I live in seminole heights and look to promote local businesses, but not those that don’t want it!

My hunt for a great margarita pizza continues. This time at Stephannos, located in the heart of Seminole Heights in an unassuming hole in the wall building on N. Florida. I called ahead for pickup and when I got there a found out they use pesto instead of basil on their Marg. Unfortunately I hate pesto! They quickly offered to make me any other pie and recommended a few. I took the pie I ordered and drove off. Within 3 minutes a thought. Damn that pie smells good! I heated up a slice in the oven and wow! That’s an awesome pie !!

Summary:
This might well be the best Marg I have ever had in Tampa. They do not overload the pie with toppings, they make it with the perfect balance between toppings and crust. Well done!

A fine local pizza provider. Very good pizzas, garlic/​mozzarella knot rolls, and salads to provide some nutritional balance. No beer/​wine and geared to take out, but a couple of tables to wait at or eat immediately if starving. Atmosphere is a working kitchen, great smells, utilitarian interior and no ornamentation.
